“This was not what we were expecting for a home with 4.9 stars. Terrible sewage smell, broken items needing repair (done while we were there), rotting wood, cockroaches (from the south, I can handle bugs), overall not impressed. Plenty of other beachfront properties nearby for a similar or slightly more expensive price. Beach front was very nice, and it has a large back patio. Those were the ONLY good things about this home. Hopefully the actual owners see this and discuss with the management company. Purely a reflection of terrible management and maintenance. Home itself has potential if taken care of.”

“Host is unresponsive. Had power outage at 6pm, mesaged the host to ask if they have generator. Power outage was from 6pm to 3am in the morning. No response received not until 6am the other day. Our food got rotten and went outside in the middle of the night just to find food because they only have an electric stove! I was supposed to celebrate my bday and pregnancy that night with fam but it was all messed up!! Worst EVER!”

“I had left something behind at the house and I got no response back. It was personal belongings. I was hoping that they would find them and be able to return them.”

“TLDR: Filthy and ill-maintained. I’m fully questioning the authenticity of the other reviews. I’ve stayed at 30+ Airbnbs and have never experienced one this dirty and poorly maintained, especially at nearly $400/night. Upstairs toilets had feces in them, showers had dried soap/spit marks, moldy curtains, black sticky mold around the master shower, dirty glass, stained toilet seats, and dust/dirt in every corner. The entire upstairs smelled stuffy. Half the lights didn’t work, such as bedside in master, and we found a live cockroach in the living room on day one. The kitchen had rusty, old pans and dishes that smelled and still had oil/old food on them. We couldn’t cook. sheets smelled bad. Our toddler’s feet turned BLACK after running around the house and she found cigarettes on balcony. Steep basement stairs also felt extremely unsafe A 10 a.m. checkout plus instructions to wash linens, while telling guests not to contact management on weekends/after 5 p.m. was grossly unreasonable”

“Very disappointing experience overall. The property was not properly cleaned, with dirty sheets, no pillowcases or duvet covers, and no towels properly provided. We had to call and follow up several times, and it took over four hours for someone to come and replace the bedding. The dryer issue was never fixed, and no one followed up as promised. Overall, the experience was very poor, and we expected much better.”

“There was no key in the lockbox and we had to try to get a hold of the company managing this house which seemed impossible. If our son didn’t find an open door on the back of the house we would have not gotten inside. There was food remains left in the kitchen sink. It’s all a pity as the location is beautiful and this house is a gem in the forest. If it would get a fresh up in terms of style and amenities… and a new management company obviously.”

“This space did not match the photos/description and feel it was extremely overpriced in comparison to other listings on the samoset property that were updated, more spacious, and cleaner. Hasn’t been updated since it was built in 1983. The listing states “lake view” but there is no lake view from the property. Could not bathe my toddler due to a tub malfunction where the host was not helpful. A screw was not present to hold the drain cover down so brown debris was able to back up into the shower/tub. I reached out to the host who was responsive at check in, but told me he’d rectify these issues after “thinking about them” and then never responded to my messages after he did not follow up. Would not recommend.”

“The house was located across from a junkyard. We opened the door. The AC was off and it was extremely hot. There was paint shipped on every room. The house was unkempt. The fence around the pool was broken. My family felt unsafe. The AC upstairs was not working . We’re not taking a nap now. They promised me a high chair for my baby. It was not there. The pictures were deceiving. I would not recommend staying there .”

“Our stay was very disappointing due to several issues that should have been addressed before check-in. We were never notified when the property was ready, making arrival confusing. The upstairs AC wasn’t working, leaving it unbearably hot. While the repair technician was professional and quickly fixed it, the host wasn’t sure it would be repaired that night. The home’s condition was unacceptable. A cabinet was hanging by one hinge, a pull-out couch had no sheets and contained hair/weave, and we found what appeared to be rat droppings on a pantry shelf. There was also a safety hazard, as a folded rug caused our 3-year-old to trip, nearly hitting the coffee table. House rules were inconsistent, one TV didn’t work, and connecting to Wi-Fi was frustrating. Overall, the cleanliness, maintenance, and safety issues made this stay far below expectations, and we would not stay here again. Very unhappy with the amount of money I spent”
