AvantStay in Tahoma, California

“We loved our stay, the home is beautiful, ample and nicely decorated, just like the pictures. The kitchen was awesomely stocked for 10 guests, with great utensils, silverware, pots, pans, appliances and more, though we didn’t have any space to store dry food for said 10 guests. All bedrooms are small in size and clean, the beds have extremely soft mattresses. We were sorry to find fleas in the basement’s family room and in the double bed on the third floor. The deck table/grill and backyard areas are very nice and comfortable. The bear security suggestions around the house are clear. We were surprised to see bears strolling in the streets and through the back yard. The house was a great place to spend 8 nights together as a family. Thank you!”

“This was my family and I’d first time going to Lake Tahoe. We decided to book an Airbnb and I thought this was a nice place to stay and affordable compared to other places. Once we arrived checking into the home was fairly easy and very convenient! We loved the space the house had but the second room with one bed did have spider webs and trash in between the furniture which was a little disturbing but it was fine. But the one thing I do regret was not choosing a place with AC because I do remember being fine with having no AC when booking this but it was as very hot in Tahoe so I think this house is nice if you are visiting during the winter time! The house itself was nice but it is the very last house down the street and is more private and lonely which we were a little bit scared of a bear popping out lol I would recommend this place again because the neighbors were nice and the house cool too!”

“Unfortunately, our stay got off to a really bad start. We requested an early check-in and were told no because the cleaners were still preparing the house. We arrived at the regular check-in time only to find that the home had not been cleaned properly (or at all). There was dog hair everywhere, hair and used razors in the shower, old food in the fridge, and items left in the washer/dryer. It looked like the previous guests had just left. It was 95 degrees outside, we had a car full of groceries, and we were left waiting with our baby while trying to reach the property management company.. which took a very long time. Cleaners eventually arrived, but seemed to have just changed the sheets and emptied the refrigerator. I ended up vacuuming the house myself. For a property that cost about $4,000 for the week, this was incredibly disappointing. The home is managed by AvantStay, and we were offered only $145 for the inconvenience. Would not recommend this property.”
