“Very disappointing experience with AvantStay. Due to the indirect impact of Tropical Storm Rachel, we had to cancel our San Diego trip. While we understood their cancellation policy, we hoped for some flexibility given the unusual circumstances. We prepaid $1,143.86 and weren't even requesting a refund, just the opportunity to reschedule. AvantStay initially offered this option but later withdrew it, refusing any refund, partial credit, or future stay. Despite our efforts to find a reasonable compromise, they were unwilling to work with us. Other hospitality providers have shown flexibility under similar circumstances. We understand policies, but exceptional situations deserve consideration and good customer service. Unfortunately, AvantStay demonstrated neither. A very disappointing experience that has certainly affected our confidence in booking with AvantStay again.”

“This unit is in a good location to access the beach or mission bay but offers little privacy (tucked within a number of condos). Ideal for a quiet beach stay.”

“Ideal location in central La Jolla. Rooms were nicely updated. Nice to have AC in bedroom, too bad its not in the living area. Didn't realize we'd be automatically locked out of rooms precisely at checkout time. Could have been a big problem if we weren't out on time. There is parking space on the property, but it appears to be available only to the retail tenant and the other people living in the other apartments onsite. Not sure if they are long term tenants, the manager or owner. Felt a little uncomfortable.”
