“Overall, a decent stay in Key West — but with a few hiccups to know before booking. Check-in was the biggest frustration: keys must be picked up about a half mile away, and the instructions were unclear enough that we needed help from a nearby hotel. A lockbox would make a big difference. Checkout, however, was flexible — they kindly let us leave the key in the unit, which we appreciated. The unit was 80°F on arrival, but all vents were closed, so the AC couldn’t cool. Once we opened them, it worked fine. The team responded quickly, though they initially blamed the Key West heat, saying there was nothing they could do. Vents should be open before the stay. When the AC had another issue later, they sent an HVAC tech promptly. Cleanliness was okay; fresh sheets and a well-stocked kitchen, but bathrooms needed more attention. A similar-priced hotel would likely be cleaner. Highlights: quiet location on Duval, a nice pool, and a responsive team. Worth considering if those matter to you”
