“This place just didn’t live up to the listing, or our other experiences on AirBNB, including on Whidbey Island. There was a noticeable smell from the time we arrived. We opened all the windows to let the place air out. It smelled like animals or cat litter (it is a pet friendly place). Furniture and layout was just ok. It felt a little shabby or rustic. The place is on a busy road that didn’t feel safe to walk on due to traffic. The listing indicated it was only .5 miles to the beach but you had to walk down the busy road only to find a small public access point surrounded by private property signs on both sides. So, ok for visiting or for kids playing but not for long walks on the beach. Our last night there, the smell was becoming worse so we messaged the host and have still never heard back from them. We didn’t care about getting a refund, we were genuinely just concerned at that point that there might be a gas or sewer leak. I would definitely not stay again.”

“This was a wonderful place for two families with four young kids together to spend a relaxing few days. Worked great that one family could take main floor bedrooms and the other could take bottom floor. The view is even more gorgeous than the pictures. And whidbey island is wonderful for young families. A couple notes that would make a wonderful place even more perfect (especially for kids): most of the windows can’t be opened, which on one particularly warm day meant we couldn’t get a cross breeze to cool down the house, which is a problem since there is no AC. Also, the screens flip up at the lightest touch, and there are no window guards on the top floor, which creates a bit of a hazard for young kids staying in the bunk bed rooms. All in all though, truly a delight, would go back!”

“It’s a nice little house with a good backyard. Great central location with easy access to ferry and Langley. Unfortunately when we arrived we immediately noticed the house smelled like urine in the living room and kitchen. Later the first night we heard what sounded like animal or rodent moving around in the ceiling above the kitchen which made the smell make sense. We contacted AvantStays and were told they’d be sending someone out and looking into it but haven’t heard anything since. Requested a refund given that we didn’t want to me in the house very much due to the smell and haven’t had anyone reach out to us about that. AvantStays is a national property management company so know what you’re getting into. I wouldn’t stay at one of their properties again at this point.”

“This condo was the perfect fit for our Whidbey stay. Beautiful view, good beach access, comfortable pool area, and very quiet neighborhood. The cupboards were well stocked with kitchen ware, dishes, and many spices/cooking ingredients. Our stay was 2 weeks and we would happily book again.”
