Manager Review

First Chair Destinations

First Chair Destinations's guest rating of 4.59 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

The transition from Vacasa to Casago and now to First Chair Destinations has been extremely frustrating. We were told the process would be seamless and that our listings would only be offline temporarily at the end of May while everything migrated over. Not ideal. June 1 came and went, and our listings were still offline. We’re missing out on summer bookings, and they seem to have no clue. Our channel listings have disappeared. They should be paying us for our losses - my ask was ignored. Communication has been unclear (or wrong). I do not have a clear sense of what is happening, and it seems the local team doesn’t either. The best employees have left, and I no longer have confidence that the situation will improve. I’m switching managers to salvage the rest of the summer.

Overall a reasonably nice place relative to the cost of other options. However there are a few drawbacks potential guests should consider: The mattress is seemingly very old and has deep sags (think roadside motel quality). They’ve seemingly tried to try to remediate this with a 3in foam mattress topper, but it doesn’t solve the structural problems and notably it doesn’t fit the mattress well, resulting in large cliffs at the edges. If you are a sensitive sleeper or have a bad back, I would avoid. In unit amenities are sparse. For my two week stay, only three rolls of very poor toilet paper were provided. There are limited to no pantry items (oil, coffee, spices) so you’ll need to bring or buy everything you require to cook meals. The property is managed by an impersonal mgmt company. Upon checkin, I tried to clarify instruction for parking permits and I was given instructions that countered the automated email. It’s a comfortable enough space, but a bit dated and not great.

Did not have a very good experience. Communication was very up in the air with issues that were taking place at the Airbnb. Ended up having the cancel the Airbnb booking early because of cleanliness issues. Wish they were more helpful at actually solving the problem instead of continuously pushing back on solutions to the issue. Not very good service at all.

I would give 5 stars but the check-in door lock code did not work and we had to wait to resolve to finally get inside. There’s nothing worse than driving 4 hours and the door doesn’t open. I tried to ask the host for a minor refund to make up for our lost time and hassle but he wasn’t willing to accommodate. Other than that it’s a good place to stay in Crested Butte.

Decent spot. No flexibility on a 10am check out which was inconvenient

This place is a great deal. Its spacious and has an accurate description, apart from the location. We came in spring and it was far from ski/in ski out. About a 10 minute walk to canyon lodge, and the way back is pretty bad uphill. Also, check-in instructions were disorganized and furniture is a bit old. Apart from those factors, we really enjoyed ourselves. Plenty of room and the bathrooms were really nice and modern.

Communicated day 1 someone would check in heater and no one came. Claimed it worked. On 3/17 heat broke. Miscommunication between corporate Vacasa that someone was coming. We had someone stay behind. Then local Vacasa told me I had to request service. This disrupted skiing. Nice maintenance man was unable to fix the heater. We were told at one point they would relocate us and we contemplated leaving. We were told the plumber might come. Never did. They did warm the space with space heaters, but whole party was unable to able to shower because there was no hot water. I requested a refund worth one day cost. On 3/18 vacasa told me my refund would be granted. Today I was refunded half that amount and Airbnb is claiming I never had this conversation and no one agreed to the full refund.

The location of this property was very convenient. The home itself felt quite dated and worn, and it clearly hasn’t been updated or refreshed in some time. Many areas were run down, and the overall condition made the stay less comfortable than expected. The kitchen was very limited. There was only one small cutting board, which was stained, and no pot to cook something as basic as pasta. It would be helpful if the kitchen were better stocked for guests. When we arrived, there were only four towels for our group of six, so we had to wait until the next morning for additional towels to be delivered. Overall, while the location is great, the property is outdated and poorly equipped, and we would not stay here again.

The location is hard to beat - close to the Main Street with all the restaurants. The space was nice! Clean and comfortable. However, the code we were given for check in did not work and we had to wait about two hours before we got help getting in from the Airbnb hosts.

We've stayed at dozens of condos in Mammoth over the years and this place is very average in every way. The only stand-out positive is the location and proximity to Canyon Lodge. Parking at the unit was difficult, too many units and not enough parking spots. Lights in the hallway were not working and we had to use a flashlight to access the ski storage. The inside of the unit has relatively new but inexpensive further. No where to sit to put shoes on at the door. The carpet throughout felt like it was 20 years old. Would not stay here again. The company that hosts the unit has like 20 signs about your responsibilities as the GUEST which is typical but annoying.

Would have been a great place if it wasn't for how dirty the house was. floors were dirty, bathroom rugs were very dirty, sheets and comforters looked dirty, even found female items in the sheets. dishes were dirty. quiet location
