Manager Review

Southern Vacation Rentals

Southern Vacation Rentals's guest rating of 4.51 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

Walkable location and beautiful view (except for the drained pool that was under construction). Before we booked there was an asterisk in the listing regarding elevator and balcony construction. We reached out and they assured us all construction was complete, so we booked. When we arrived, we were sad to find the large pool completely drained with construction tape around it. Had no idea that would be unusable and obviously on vacation you’re hoping to sit by the pool. We still sat by the small one but could hear the construction the whole time so it wasn’t very relaxing. Anyway that was just a bummer. View and balcony are worth it only if they can assure you all other amenities will be available. Also the amount of emailed instructions is a lot. I had to sort through so many to remember the checkin instructions and building codes.

The condo was in a perfect location. Very spacious & pretty clean. For a location so close to the beach I would have thought there would be some sort of beach towels provided. We had to buy our own beach towels. We also did not know that there were beach chairs in the closet until our last day. There were only 2 rolls of toilet paper so we had to also purchase toilet paper. I’ve never stayed somewhere where there was not at least a couple days worth of paper products/toilet paper. I communicated via Airbnb that we wanted late check out about a month before our stay. They messaged saying we needed to reach out to “customer support”. Then when we got to our stay I called the customer support number and they said we needed to request late checkout at least 48 hours in advance. We had and evening flight and wanted a bit more time in the condo. The condo was available for us to rent another night last minute but we were unable to get the late check out. This was super frustrating.

Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience with this apartment. When we arrived, the unit was extremely dirty and clearly not properly maintained. There was construction dust everywhere, a very strong construction smell inside the apartment. I even developed allergy symptoms because of the dust. Several things in the apartment were broken: coffee machine did not work, the curtain was torn, there was a leak in the ceiling, and there was also water leaking inside the refrigerator. Overall, the apartment looked very worn down and neglected. The most frustrating part was that it took a long time and a lot of discussion before we finally got help. Only after contacting Airbnb support did the company reach out and offer us another apartment. In the end, we were able to move, but only after having to spend one uncomfortable night in these conditions. I appreciate that they eventually offered a solution, but the entire situation caused unnecessary stress during our trip.

We stayed at this Airbnb while traveling with our two-year-old daughter and had an uncomfortable experience that needs to be addressed. Property management emailed us around 9 AM regarding an issue that needed to be addressed, but we were on vacation and unplugged from our phones, so we did not immediately see the email or app notification. Once we saw it later in the day, we responded right away. That evening, we came downstairs to find two women outside our unit after our door had been opened. We had personally closed and locked the door before going upstairs. As parents traveling with a young child, this was extremely upsetting and made us feel violated and unsafe. A simple note on the door or waiting for a response would have been the appropriate way to handle the situation. Opening an occupied rental without communication is a major privacy and security concern. There were also no light bulbs installed in any of the exterior light fixtures, leaving the outside area extremely d

Hello. Just wanted to say that your house is gorgeous, beautifully decorated, the neighborhood and location is perfect and peaceful... BUT — unfortunately the house feels very unclean. We tried to clean & wipe down what we could w/out cleaning essentials. Door knobs, doors — very dirty. The rug needs to be replaced → rolled it because I didn’t even want my dog on it. The rubber in the washing machine is mildewed, smells of bacteria. The bathrooms need a good disinfecting scrub from top to bottom, there is dust on all the surfaces. We didn’t use the kitchen as it would require too much cleaning first. The garbage disposal also smelled bad. There is men’s underwear crumpled up under the master bedroom bed — yuck! Last but not least, we cut our stay short because we could no longer stand the smell of pet urine! The slip cover on the couch needs to be changed. Disappointed. For the price point, this place should have been sparkling clean and smelling fresh. I would not stay here again.

First they sent us the wrong code to get in! Thankfully the parking security guy walked by and told us the correct code that worked on all the gates or we were screwed! Second the thermostat was stuck in 73 so they sent a guy out to change it and it was blowing hot air! It got up to 83 degrees in the room and they believed the worker who said give it time to cool instead of me telling them it was hot as hell in this room he needs to come back! They did come back and fix it though! Another issue I Was all the pool chairs was on the hot tub end instead of by the other pool so all the kids were in and out of the hot tub constantly which in my opinion is the adult/relaxation area not kids with floaters trying to swim in it with a pool right beside it! Everything else was nice, fast elevators, location, etc. Personally I won’t be back there lots nicer in the area. Also maybe you guys should have some better English speaking workers when people are calling with issues!

The house was beautiful! However, we did not have enough "essential supplies" such as trash bags, toilet paper, dish soap, etc. For the amount we paid for the house, I felt like they should supply enough essential household products to last us for 3 days. Instead, we had to go to the grocery to buy toilet paper and trash bags.

Beware- paid for a 3 night stay. Host declined to activate pool heating stating that I needed a 3 night stay- again which I had. Cameras in pool area as well- no privacy. Host difficult to communicate with response time is lacking. No amenities such as coffee etc for the amount paid. Floor divider was glued on with tacky glue- easy to trip over. Lastly the location is in the deepest part of a maze neighborhood address might lead you to the school on the next street over that’s closed off.

this place was absolutely disgusting. house keeping had to come twice and the place was still not clean. the floors were disgusting house keeping came and mopped over dirty floors. the ladder on the bunk beds were BLACK. we cleaned them ourselves. people will enter your room without informing and change the code on the door. the door was left open when returning back to the room. asked to speak to a manager but there is not one to be found. the dishwasher smelled like something died in it. the living room furniture was dingy and gross. overall terrible experience. do not recommend.

This place was not worth the money paid. Dirty in some areas of the house and very hard to work with.Very limited parking for a 10 guest house and no true amenities with this house. I wouldn’t recommend this house or company to anyone the 30A experience was terrible in this house.
