“The condo was in a perfect location. Very spacious & pretty clean. For a location so close to the beach I would have thought there would be some sort of beach towels provided. We had to buy our own beach towels. We also did not know that there were beach chairs in the closet until our last day. There were only 2 rolls of toilet paper so we had to also purchase toilet paper. I’ve never stayed somewhere where there was not at least a couple days worth of paper products/toilet paper. I communicated via Airbnb that we wanted late check out about a month before our stay. They messaged saying we needed to reach out to “customer support”. Then when we got to our stay I called the customer support number and they said we needed to request late checkout at least 48 hours in advance. We had and evening flight and wanted a bit more time in the condo. The condo was available for us to rent another night last minute but we were unable to get the late check out. This was super frustrating.”

“I absolutely loved this spot! Having the porch was soo nice and it’s an easy walk to everything in Alys and Rosemary beach as well as the beach access. Plenty of Parking as well. Will definitely be booking this stay again soon!”

“Location was beautiful on a tree-lined street, with a large house accommodating children, parents and grandparents. There is a small bar serving flatbread pizza just several yards away, beach within a several-minute walk, and the community pool was a great option for swimming as well. Bikes on the property allowed kids some independence! Southern Vacation Rentals was extremely respnosive to every single question, and made the stay comfortable and enjoyable. Great spot and great value!”

“The location is great. The cottage is cute. The problem we had was with the communication. When we arrived, we were told to message a local number for any concerns, as we were only getting automated responses from Airbnb. We decided to extend our stay, so we messaged the number provided. They gave us a rate & assured us it included all taxes & fees. We told our kids & changed work schedules, only to then be told we had to extend through Airbnb. We tried that & the price was WAY higher, so we lost vacation time for the Southern team’s error. We asked for a late check out at minimum & received what felt like an AI response from the local team. “We are sorry for your frustration.” I love Airbnb. I’ve never had a bad experience in 15 years, but this left me super frustrated. The personal feel of AirBNB platform is completely lost when companies like this take over & outsource communication.”
