Manager Review

Live Suites

Live Suites's guest rating of 4.73 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

We cannot recommend this property and are leaving a 1-star review due to serious safety concerns and how the situation was handled. On the first night, a bat entered the master bedroom while guests were sleeping. Although we were told it would be addressed the next morning, we were instead instructed to keep the room closed, losing access to one bedroom and one bathroom for the rest of our stay. Multiple bats were then seen flying through the living area, creating an ongoing safety concern. The exterminator was repeatedly delayed and did not arrive until late at night, further disrupting our trip. We repeatedly followed up for updates and felt our concerns were not treated with urgency. Airbnb Support even recommended that we vacate the property. We only stayed the final night because relocating our group was extremely inconvenient, not because the issue was resolved. We have photos and videos documenting everything described.

Prior to our arrival we were informed that a clogged pipe had been fixed by a plumber. While we understand things happen, little was done to clean saturated carpet and the home smelled like sewer our entire visit. The nicest bedroom and bathroom is in the basement along with a hangout space that was made unusable during our stay. It was obvious the bare minimum was done with cleaning. Floors were unswept and after walking barefoot in the house for 15 minutes the bottom of our feet were black. The “fast and reliable” WiFi worked for all of about 5 minutes during our stay. All of the comforters were stained. The back patio had many cigarette and cigar butts everywhere. All the coffee mugs were stained and needed washed before use. The master bath tub jets were completely black from mold. We found hair in every room. And the only response we got when we asked them about these issues was “the place had been thoroughly cleaned.” Would never recommend this house or host.

There are no amenities listed and no instructions. Kitchen had random things but not the basics. Had to make salad in a pot, no bowls. Listed 6 people inly had 5 towels and two rolls of toilet paper for 3 nights. The lake access was the only nice thing. Sent a message asking for towels and a bowl never responded.

Unfortunately, the photos did not accurately reflect the condition of the property. The home was very dirty, poorly maintained, and did not appear to have been properly cleaned before our arrival. We also experienced a water leak and discovered what appeared to be a mold issue. I contacted the host to report these concerns, but I never received a response. Since I live four hours away and had no other immediate accommodation available, I had no option but to stay at the property. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. The property needs significant cleaning and maintenance, and the lack of communication from the host made the situation even more frustrating.

We were able to get into the place upon arrival via key code from check in instructions, but the code stopped working after that. We went back and forth and received probably 4 different codes to try, and none of them worked. Tried again as we were checking out just to see if it would work, and it didn’t. Aside from how painful that was, the place was about as cheap of an Airbnb as you can run. Fine for one night, but wouldn’t stay more than that. The shower was visibly dirty, and the shower liner was discolored. Would not stay again or recommend to others.

Cancelled on me at check in time due to a water leak. I was already in town and had no place to stay. Should have at least given more notice if you knew there was a water leak. Horrible experience.

I chose this Airbnb because it advertised free parking, and the check-in instructions even stated there would be a parking pass in the lockbox. After I arrived, the host told me they no longer offer free parking, which was disappointing since it influenced my decision to book. The listing also did not match my expectations in other ways. There was no central air, only a wall air conditioner that struggled to keep the space cool, and the ceiling fan barely moved any air. The bed was uncomfortable, and surprisingly, the sofa bed was more comfortable than the main bed. The couch itself was very small, and only thin blankets were provided with no comforter. Overall, I felt the listing was misleading because several advertised amenities were unavailable or not as described. I hope these issues are addressed so future guests know what to expect.

When we arrived, there were a bunch of people in our room. They had double booked us and we had to leave and find somewhere else to stay, which is next to impossible for two 18 year olds in Traverse City. Extremely disappointing and will not be back.

First, I want to say that the accommodations themselves were generally fine. My only concern with the property was that there seemed to be very few smoke detectors. The reason for my rating is based on two significant issues. The biggest is that I feel the listing was misleading. This listing was advertised as an "entire home." The description also stated that we would have access to all 3 of the 3 units and all 6 parking spaces. However, the night before we arrived, we discovered we only had access to 2 of the 3 units. When I brought this to the host's attention, I was initially told I was mistaken and was even advised to contact Airbnb if I had an issue. After I provided multiple receipts and screenshots showing exactly what had been advertised, the explanation changed to a "mismatch" in the listing descriptions. I was then told not to worry because we still had enough bedrooms. That completely missed the point. The issue was never the number of bedrooms—

The pics were amazing. 1. Furniture was so old and dining chairs had so many stains we chose not to sit in them. 2. Wires exposed on multiple floor heaters. Even in the kid rooms. This is a safety hazard so please be careful. 3. Toilet seat slid all over the place as it was broken. 4. OMG the age of the home meant every floor and stairs creaked so bad. As I am an early riser I woke up my 10yo who is a light sleeper. 5. Went to make coffee (that they provided) but had only sugar, no cream. EVERY ABNB we’ve stayed at had amenities. This was bare minimum. 6. This is crazy, some of the beds had no headboards at very little wall decor and or decorations throughout. It felt like a Motel 6. 7. Bathrooms sucked. Drawers were broken. Toilet seats broken. Stained bathtubs, showers, and curtains. The call looked like the original calk. 8. Lakeview was beautiful but with it came the bugs (in the house, killed three spiders and something I can’t describe). Never written a negative review before.
