Leavetown Vacations

Leavetown Vacations's guest rating of 4.58 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

The neighbors were noisy and the night check in wasn’t very friendly

The late check in time with a small 2 hour window between 4-6 made it difficult traveling 5 hours away with a baby. The early check out time also made it difficult and we felt very rushed to get everything together for the travel back home. Paid for five days and it truly felt like we only really spent 3 days at the beach because of it. Asked for a later check out time, willing to pay extra for accommodation, but was denied.

We have stayed at this location many times and the resort is really declining. Needs lots of maintenance, exterior is aweful on the entire resort, pools, and splash pool are never working or being redone every yr. Construction mess on the pools, our dish washer has lots of mold, faucet in kitchen didn’t work, looks like it had a very light cleaning. Floors dirty not mopped.

The room was very dirty and outdated. It did not look like the pictures. No access to the balcony and the view of the beach was ruined by scaffolding. I don’t recommend staying at Ocean Towers in Myrtle Beach until they fix the issues with the building and clean and renovate the units.

Property management on site was not very helpful when we experienced a maintenance issue, communication was lacking. Issue was resolved within 12 hours, just did not have very good communication about the issue. For the cost of the stay, I felt the amenities should have been better - refrigerator was barely working, furniture was baseline and uncomfortable.

Hidden check in fee, a lack of compassion or customer service in addressing the matter. It’s difficult to argue said fee when you are miles from home and standing at check in.

Great value. Was disappointed in cleanliness and maintenence of the property. The pools were horrible and dried out my childrens skin to the point it cracked. I ran over a nail in the parking lot with my car tire and a screw with my stroller tire. It was just not a good property.

From the moment we walked in, the unit had a strong, unpleasant odor and felt extremely stuffy. Dust covered the vents, the floors were visibly dirty, and the front door didn’t seal properly, there was a noticeable gap even when locked. Dead bugs were at the entrance, and the entire space felt stale. The furniture was outdated, stained, and smelled, with one chair having a urine odor. The master bathroom looked nothing like the photos advertised. When I raised this with the host, I was dismissed and told photos may not match units, which felt misleading especially since none matched unit 424. It felt deceptive. There was hair throughout the shower, drains, and floors, and the toilet wasn’t properly cleaned. A cleaner even admitted it hadn’t been recently serviced. Overall, it felt unclean and uncomfortable. I would not recommend staying here.

If you’re going to charge these prices the unit has to be up to standards.

Our total through Airbnb was about $300 for one night. When we got to check in they charged us a hidden fee of $155.80. I reported this immediately to Airbnb and was then called by the front desk to inform me that the hidden fee was being refunded- apparently there was a “glitch” because we used a third party app to book. Then a few days later I was charged $154.80. When I called about getting a refund for the second time, it was the same excuse of booking the through a third party. It seemed like they weren’t expecting me to actually check the charges and something shady was going on. The actual unit was clean and had the amenities listed, check-in is at a different location from the condo itself which was confusing. If you’re going to book this, go through their website to avoid any skimming off the top….
