Manager Review

Resort Realty

Resort Realty's guest rating of 4.56 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

The floors were very dusty/dirty. The tub on the second floor was also dirty. The exterior decks had tons of spiders and bugs. A lot of the bugs were dead but stuck to the doors, windows, and vinyl. Someone came by to do maintenance on the pool however, it would have been nice to know someone was coming over and that we just didn’t have a random person walking around. We did enjoy the neighborhood and the playground by the front entrance.

The first night we arrived there was a dead cockroach in the hall and the bathroom light fixture over the bathroom sink was hanging off the wall by a wire. The trashcans in the driveway were overflowing with trash. I had to contact the realtor about the light, the molding that fell off the door on the deck, the fact that the trash was never picked up and all the neighbors were, and we never received any towels at all (the website said to just bring your own beach towels). I received the towels but had to call twice about the light fixture as maintenance never showed up. I was told there was a place to launch a kayak, so I rented one. But there is no way to safely get into the water at all so I could not used the kayak. The hot tub did not have a railing or handle to get in and out safely so we could not used that. I spent a good deal of time on my vacation dealing with the realtor when I should not have had to. This property is not a property for families.

House was in great location. Easy to walk to everything. House had a well stocked kitchen if you would want to cook. The only thing we were really disappointed with was that there were bedsheets that were clearly dirty. I can’t imagine a cleaning person would put these on a bed. I had calledResort Realty right away. They promised that they would have someone come to bring new sheets. That never happened. I’m not sure if this is owned by an individual and they have Resort Realty manage the property, but if they do, they should reconsider who manages the property. It was an easy ask to bring clean sheets.

House was full of pet hair and dust . The first two nights we were there had to clean water up due to roof leak. Only 1 light worked around pool and dryer would not dry clothes. Very disappointed for what I paid.

The location was excellent and made for a very enjoyable stay. The property was clean and well maintained, and we appreciated how tidy everything was. Our only feedback is that the unit felt quite dated and could benefit from some updates to make it feel more welcoming, especially considering the price. We were also only informed after booking that basic kitchen items such as condiments and similar essentials were not provided, which would have been helpful to know beforehand when planning our stay. Overall, we had a pleasant visit and enjoyed our time at the Outer Banks.

We arrived on Saturday and AC wasn’t working and it was 83 degrees inside the house. I called the rental people and they brought us 4 window units. The AC people came but couldn’t fix it. The house was dirty and smelly. When we left on the next Saturday there were ants in the kitchen. This rental isn’t worth $2,600 for the week. It put a damper on our vacation.

They were on top of most things. We did not have Wi-Fi for almost our entire family vacation….. they had one of their workers “address” it but just told us there was an outage in the area….. THERE WAS NOT….. on our SIXTH day there, they had someone come out from the internet provider and actually address the issue…. Shocker…. There wasn’t an outage….

This home is in need of updates/repair. House had a smell, tap water smelled like a swamp/sewage. The mattress had a stain and after they cleaned it we had to call late at night to get sheets. The bathroom was full of hair and dust on the floor and base of tub. Food piece in utensil drawer. Couch covered in pet hair. Lights and covers out, missing, cracked, and full of bugs. Hot tub had lots of stains. Found black substances growing around window and air vent. We were told by the maintenance person that that’s just how the city water smells and it’s not their fault. Even if that’s true, I still don’t want to smell worse after I shower. There is just too much to list. We asked to leave and get a refund but the host told AirBNB that we adamantly declined a reclean after they told us we needed to contact AirBNB to do anything since we booked with them. The reclean wasn’t helpful. I was extremely dissatisfied with the home and price. Hopefully this home will be deep cleaned and updated.

The worst place I’ve ever rented on Airbnb in 10 years of using them. Literally returned the keys 30 minutes after check in. We got a hotel elsewhere and did not ruin our vacation at this pig sty. Host was unresponsive even though their office was a 2 minute drive up the road from property. Guest book in home had dozens of terrible stays due to cleanliness, smell, deferred maintenance. Management company should be reported to better business bureau. Absolutely terrible experience. Thankful we left immeduately

The house and the area were beautiful. Everything was clean and tidy. The problem is with the property manager. I messaged them a couple of weeks before our stay about heating the pool, since it looked like our week was going to be chilly. They promptly replied they could heat the pool for an additional $500 for the week. I thought good the kids will be happy they can swim even if the weather is cool. When we arrived the pool guy was there and told me he had turned the heater on the day before and it was nice and warm. The next day woke up the heater was off and the pool was cold, called maintenance, they came and reset the heater. This went on for the next 3 days until finally one of the maintenance guys said those heaters cut off below 55 degrees, so he had the property manager give me a call to sort it out. She called and very quickly told me that it would not heat at those temps and I should have read the small print in the contract. Wow what customer service. Beware!!!
