Coldwell Banker Island Vacations

Coldwell Banker Island Vacations's guest rating of 4.76 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

Okay place, not perfect. The cleanliness was subpar with a moldy coffee maker, some hair in the shower, consistent ants in the bathroom, an unclean blender, and some other small things. There was only one paper towel roll and 2 extra trash bags which I would’ve liked to see out of a premium stay. Location is great and it’s close to beaches and Hanalei Bay.

Host is terrible, there was a Termite swarm in the house that ruined all our food we had bought for the week and the host did not help at all

I truly loved the condo itself—the size was generous, the unit was beautiful, and the location was excellent. Unfortunately, several serious issues overshadowed what could have been a wonderful stay. We encountered cockroaches, a strobing light in the bathroom, and a water alarm that went off for over 45 minutes. These problems were extremely distressing and left me feeling genuinely traumatized. Adding to the disappointment, my multiple letters requesting a refund have gone unanswered. The lack of response and follow-up has been very frustrating and unacceptable given the circumstances.

Great unit. Comfortable and quiet. Despite this & the great location, we had a very poor experience with the communication with the staff. We had called multiple times before our check in day and during our check in day to request an early check-in, having arrived to Maui early in the morning with our infant and elderly mother. We were told the unit was empty, but the cleaning crew didn’t have the time. We had to kill over 6 hours with all our luggage. On top of that, we requested a crib for our infant multiple days ahead of time, and the crew never delivered it to the property. We called, texted, and they did not respond whatsoever. This made the stay quite uncomfortable for us, and we were very disappointed with the lack of accommodations.

Pros: location, size of house. Cons: guest bedroom had ANTS IN THE BED, ceiling, walls and they went down to the floor. We messaged the host when we checked in and were told to email someone or call a number. Throughout the trip, I emailed four times and never heard back. We called several times and it’s an answering service in another country, not locals They came out once to set ant traps and that reduced the ants for a day and then they were back. We called and were more or less blown off or ignored. Everytime I contacted the host on the app, I was rudely told to contact someone else. Hope you don’t have an emergency here because they won’t care. The house is dirty. There were dust bunnies under the bed and left over trash. There are stains and scratches everywhere. It’s pretty run down. The bathtubs in both bathrooms were really gross. The plug in the guest bathroom does not work. I don’t recommend this host or this property even though it’s a nice size and in a good place

The stay was okay overall, but I would not recommend this property. There is no air conditioning, and the west-facing deck gets strong afternoon sun, making it uncomfortable for anyone sensitive to heat or temperature changes. We did see whales and turtles, though this is likely similar at many coastal stays in the area. My main concerns were communication, consistency, and cleanliness. I was asked for flight details under the impression someone would meet us at check-in, but we were simply given a door code. Inside, the flooring had a waxy finish that became very slippery with humidity and socks—my wife actually slipped. I contacted guest relations and was told the cleaning crew would return, but they never came, and we ended up cleaning it ourselves. There were also cleanliness issues, including hair on the soap dispenser and a dusty shower fan. Overall, the lack of attention to detail and inconsistent information led to a disappointing experience, and I would not recommend this

Coldwell Banker failed to inform us that the elevators had been broken for 3 weeks. We paid a lot and only got below average accommodations. I will never rent from this company again.

Expensive or people that live there are rude. Didn’t give us the right unit

The unit itself was very nice and well-located. The host on the other hand was the worst in my 10+ years as an AirBnB user. They are a corporation with no one who is familiar with the unit. We asked about parking for a second vehicle and were told to park offsite on the street so we don't get towed. This is despite the fact there were 10 available guest parking spot near the unit. The WIFI code provided in the unit was the wrong one and we had to call to get the correct one. The condition of the unit was subpar - mold in the shower, broker ice-maker, rice cooker that did not work, inadequate kitchen towels, broken beach chairs, paint and Drano cans on the floor of the second bedroom closet. But the biggest issue was the pool was closed for 3 or our 4 full days. When brought to their attention they went silent and never returned our calls about other options/compensation. This host has no business being on the AirBnB platform.
