Casago Smoky Mountains's guest rating of 4.68 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“We booked this place on somewhat short notice because it's close proximity to Dollywood (5 minutes) and being pet-friendly. We arrived after dark. It took us a bit to find the correct unit since the address was to the club house which was closed. Pulled into our designated parking space to be greeted by the heavy smell of pot from someone smoking nearby. The unit itself was ok and mostly clean. Never heard the neighbors. The main bedroom was missing a trash can in the bathroom and the mattress was very stiff. The main shower head was very low, around 5' above the shower floor which is challenging for taller people. The plumbing to the secondary shower was backwards (hot was cold and cold was hot). Overall the place was OK for our weekend getaway.”airbnb

“Had some issues, namely the AC not being usable and only being supplied a single laundry detergent and dishwasher pod for the whole week. Hosts did communicate well and relocated us for the remainder of our trip nearby, and gave some compensation for the AC issue. The units were well furnished and all other amenities as promised.”airbnb

“Loved location but couldn’t get over all the minor flaws. Smelled like animals, toilet lids broke. None of the toilet paper would stay on the hooks for them. Flooring needs to be replaced asap. Both my children cut their feet on the broken wood flooring. I would not stay here again until they lay new flooring. Very little stuff in the kitchen. No coffee. I’ve never stayed in a airbnb with no coffee. Master bed felt really cheap. Hot tub was nice. I’m not one to complain but all the little things wrong here added up quickly”airbnb

“If you have a problem the management team will not communicate, will drag they’re feet. We asked to be relocated but they didn’t even respond to the request to be relocated. This was after it took two days to get a maint person onsite. I’m a reasonable person if they show they were trying, this group lied to me, no communications. You would think such an important item to life safety would be ensured was operable prior to occupancy, I had to report inoperable smoke alarms, inoperable hot tub. No one showed up until the evening of our second day. Hot tub never got fixed, smoke alarm was fixed end of second day, garbage disposal did not work, there was an obvious odor in the living room, area rug was dirty. We sucked it up as we had already carried our bags in and had hoped the management team would address the hot tub, they didn’t. No attempt to move us after it became obvious they couldn’t fix the tub during our stay, it was obvious to us that there were vacancies in same building.”airbnb

“Jacuzzi tub didn’t work and the cabin is next to a solid waste facility. The smell wasn’t pleasant. Had flies in the rest room and some other bugs but I guess that’s the cabin life? The outdoor chairs were on the cheaper side and pretty dirty so no sitting on the patio plus it wasn’t covered which was in the listing but still worth noting. The heart tub is a nice touch. Bed wasn’t comfortable by any means. Place has potential if they cared for it better.”airbnb

“Upon entering the cabin we noticed a very intense smell, maybe mildew? The hot tub was at 89 when we went to get in and did not get up to temperature until the next day, so we were unable to use the hot tub our first night. The second day we noticed the bugs everywhere. Coming out of the drains, and all over the walls. They were in our suitcases, all over our clothes and our 5 month old baby had bites on her legs. Immediately started packing our things and contacted the host. They did move us to another cabin, but we missed our dinner plans and had to spend our time packing and then waiting for the host to send us info for a new place to go. Once we got to the second cabin there was no power in the master bedroom. Host had to send instructions for my husband to go down the side of the cabin to flip the breaker. This cabin had no view which was a big reason I rented the first cabin. No refund, and really no apology for our debacle or the downgrade in our stay for the last 2 nights.”airbnb

“Directions were to the neighborhood not the actual house, so if was difficult to find because there wasn’t numbers on the house or a mailbox with numbers. The door lock was a 10 digit code that was hard to put in. The place doesn’t look like the pictures from the outside so that also made it harder to find. In the checkout message they said if you turn the air conditioning under 70 degrees that the unit might freeze and they would bill you the maintenance fee. That would have been nice to know at the beginning of our stay not in the checkout instructions. The place was clean and had plenty of towels, toilet paper, and paper towels. I just don’t think it was worth all the money for how many inconveniences there were.”airbnb

“The outdoor pool is listed as open May-October. If taking children confirm this as the pool was still closed on our May 3rd arrival. It was then we were told it would not open until Memorial weekend. Again this was not on the listing. The walls are very thin, if you are a light sleeper I’d stay elsewhere as we could hear entire conversations/ coughing next to the bunk beds. There are no sound barriers under the doorways between families. We went to make dinner and had-no propane in the tank on the grill. We were told to go purchase some. The hot tub was cold on arrival and we were not able to use until the next day. This is a lower unit so if the family above is also in the hot tub, prepare for water to be splashed on you from above. This particular location was not for us.”airbnb

“I hate leaving poor reviews and strive to enjoy where I stay, however I was greatly disappointed here. The major amenities that I chose it for were broken and unusable (grill, hot tub) and no one made any efforts to address this. The home was unclean, a dirty filter was left on the ground and the AC/heat was not working when we were there. The waterfront access is shared but the entrance is unsafe to access and may be difficult for some. Overall disappointed for the cost and the high cleaning fee (187$) for a home that was dirty. Most furniture is stained and items are worn down including kitchen items and advertised kayaks/ amenities.”airbnb

“House is in a good location. Really needs a deep clean and some maintenance. Stains hidden by sheets on queen bed. Pillows smelled like dirty hair. Really expensive for the condition of the home.”airbnb
