“Good and cost friendly place to stay with a big group. Quirky house with lots of character. Bedroom setup is a bit weird and upstairs bathrooms are small. Good for what we needed which was a place to sleep for a group of friends for a wedding. House is quite bare bones and because of the wedding we also didn't spend much time at the house - it's not like a cozy house you want to just hang out in. Also the pictures make it look way more well built and newer than it is. Definitely an older house that was added on to at different stages.”

“Our stay at Tides to Pine’s was lovely. Beautiful historical home near town, and the Camden Hills State Park. Very walkable and a very nice neighborhood. All instructions, including house instructions, check-in and check out instructions were in a very long text on the Airbnb house site. This made it difficult to find the text within the app, and then scroll to find a particular instruction. Maybe easier to have 5-6 separate texts headlined with a particular instruction. Or leave printed instructions at the home.”

“One thing did made me uneasy. The smoke detectors were removed from the ceilings. They were on the windows, with batteries in the.”

“We enjoyed our stay for the most part but the sauna did not work and that was one of the main reasons we booked this place. Also, the toaster was broken, the master bathroom sink wouldn’t drain, there was no microwave to use. The house is very private with beautiful views. The walk down to the water is pretty far with steep walk back but the path down was maintained good enough. It’s a beautiful location.”

“The photos are misleading — the cottage is in disrepair and is not accurately represented in the online listing. The wallpaper is peeling off the walls in several rooms and has mold around the peeling parts. Much of the furniture and rugs have been swapped and what is there is very worn, threadbare & damp. The cottage was dirty upon arrival — trash in the yard, multiple stacks of the owners belongings, mold in the shower caulking, overall dusty, dirty and not cleaned upon our arrival. The stairs to the second floor are a hazard and there was no notice given ahead of time. It's navigable if you are nimble; but when 3 of the 5 guests are 80+, it's a deal breaker and a danger. The railings at the top of said stairs are loose and wobble side to side when you hold on to them. The cost of this cottage is quite high; yet the condition of the place is very low.”

“The cabin is excellent and exactly what we expected in terms of rusticness, beautiful location and isolation. Unfortunately our stay was totally ruined by excessive noise from the nearby Bigelow Laboratory on the opposite side of the small bay. There is a constant pump/generator sound coming from the facility. The noise is LOUD and totally not acceptable. Obviously the hosts can not do much about this noise pollution and have claimed total ignorance of the sound and that we are the first to complain about it. The noise maybe temporary but it ruined our holiday as there was no way to escape it. A constant drone 24/7 that was way and above the normal acceptable threshold. The hosts have fobbed us off and not offered any financial recompense. Airbnb have also been unable to do anything. Really really disappointing. DO NOT rent this property if you want solitude, and peace and quiet.”

“I do not recommend staying at this home. This home is not air conditioned despite the listing of AC as an amenity. There is one window unit in the primary bedroom that is extremely loud and not appropriate for a sleeping environment. The lack of air conditioning in the two other bedrooms renders them unusable during hot nights, so it is effectively a one bedroom home. The host was not helpful when I messaged them about the air conditioning, they suggested I misunderstood the amenities description and told me someone would call me the next day. No one called. My children slept as best they could on the floor next to the shockingly loud AC unit rather than the beds I had paid for, waking every hour when the AC cycled on. The kayak cannot be used at the dock near the home because it is not feasible to carry it down the steep, unsteady, deteriorating pathway to the dock.”

“BEWARE! -The house is not that near to the harbor. The view of the harbor from the porch is 50% blocked by trees - The metal dining table on the back porch has a completely rusted area just waiting for a child to insert a finger get and get a cut. Unsafe – The upstairs toilet didn't flush, which we discovered upon arrival, after using it - Only 2 BR had AC units, which was relayed AFTER the un-refundable booking was made -One of the a/c units' vents had mold. Unsafe -The house rules state that the house is on a septic tank therefore, after 2 people take 10-minute showers, the BR can't be used for another hour - At the 11th hour, Tide and Pines, the mgmt. company, offered for us to vacate and give us a full refund. We complied but they reneged b/c some of the beds had been used when we first arrived and before discovering the extent of the inadequacy of the house. After days of back & forth , Airbnb reviewed photos of the house & messages with T & P and refunded the rest of our money.”

“the worst stay i have ever had in 12 years since I could start traveling with my own money..... this place is out dated pictures posted by Jeremy & Kristi owners of fish Maine another business that they own that its horrible medicre customer service lets not talk about the food and pricing, that house used to be the housing for their employees so pictures they posted was back from when they bought it not recently pictures, so this place doesn't have A/C on the 2nd floor and a mediocre A/C on 1st floor though 3 bedrooms on 2nd floor. kitchen was fealty counter tops, table, stove, bedrooms, floors, bathrooms, place its a mess god knows when was the last time got cleaned you can smell the humidity in the house, windows got no shades nor screens so sun and bugs all day and all night and add up the heat from the 4th of July weekend @ 98°F.... DO YOUR SELF A FAVOR DON'T RENT THIS PLACE IT WAS THE MOST PAINFUL $4200 I JAVE EVER SPEND. IF YOU WANT PICTURES OF REALITY I CAN SEND THEM JUST ASK”
