Manager Review

Panhandle Getaways

Panhandle Getaways's guest rating of 4.61 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

Great place overall. My only problem was having to deal with their realtor as he was selling the property during my stay and let’s just say he wasn’t professional. Great location near restaurants and beach access with vehicle or the golf cart. During our stay, the realtor requested access to show the property to prospective buyers and offered to pay for our lunch in exchange for the inconvenience. We agreed, left the property, and even tidied up before the showing. There were 7 people in our group, and we rearranged our vacation plans to accommodate the request. Afterward, the realtor reimbursed only a portion of the lunch cost, which was disappointing because no spending limit had been discussed beforehand. Future guests may want to clarify any reimbursement details in advance if they agree to accommodate a showing during their stay.

Absolutely not what we were expecting. Mold on the ceiling for starters, that they didn’t tell us about which is a safety concern. Tv didn’t work the first night it stayed on the same channel and you couldn’t change it. Toilet paper is the $1 roll from dg that hurts you when you wipe. When you call them, they will hang up, laugh at your inconvenience and not accommodate your concerns the only nice one was the manager I believe her name was Stacy the rest need a new job. Said access to 2 beaches and no you don’t get that you only have access to 1 public beach for the price of $1,300 and they can’t even give you a private beach access.

I purposely waited two weeks before leaving this review so I could reflect and make sure my feedback was fair. The listing was misleading. It never mentioned that the kitchen and main living area were on the 4th floor. From the front door to the kitchen and back is 94 steps (47 up and 47 down). I traveled with four people over 65, so this was a major issue. After a 10-hour drive, we arrived at check-in time only to find the keypad code was wrong and the garage door didn't work. The property is advertised as beach/oceanfront, but you only get a small glimpse of the water from the 4th floor. The AC failed twice, leaving us with 3 of 6 nights above 80 degrees inside. tech finally replaced part. We also returned from dinner to find the front door standing open because it would not latch properly-broken trim/vinyl. For nearly $3,600 for the week, it simply was not worth the price. The property has potential, but the misleading listing and maintenance issues made this a disappointing stay.

Nice home in a great location, and overall we enjoyed our stay. The only area that could use improvement is the cleaning. Upon arrival, we found that the floors needed to be swept multiple times and mopped, as there was still quite a bit of sand and debris throughout the home. The rugs also held a lot of sand, and unfortunately there was no vacuum available to clean them. We also spent some time wiping down and cleaning portions of the kitchen and bathrooms before settling in. It seemed as though the home may have received a quick turnover cleaning rather than a more thorough one. Aside from that, the property itself is very nice, and with a little more attention to cleanliness it would be an excellent place to stay.

Our family of 14 experienced a very disappointing stay that caused significant stress, inconvenience, and financial loss. Shortly after arriving, the property experienced severe flooding due to plumbing issues, making it uninhabitable. As a result, we were forced to find and relocate to another Airbnb within 24 hours. Relocating a group of 14 people on such short notice was extremely difficult and created considerable anxiety and disruption to our trip. The replacement property was significantly smaller and did not adequately accommodate our family’s needs. Despite the circumstances, we were only refunded $2,085 of the $3,580 we paid, leaving us with a loss of approximately $1,500, in addition to the time, stress, and inconvenience involved in securing alternative accommodations. We understand that emergencies can happen, but we expected a more appropriate resolution given that the flooding resulted from a serious plumbing issue at the property.

Place was fine, some odd fixtures and a little cosmetic fix up would do wonders. Anytime the AC kicks on, there is a very musty smell. We had a lot of issues getting inside, the check in code wasn't right and they had to reset it about 10 times. Check in instructions mentioned getting in early if you asked in advance. I asked to get in just slightly before 4 so we could drop our stuff off and head to dinner... Not only was it not ready at 4, it took almost an hour of back and forth to get the lock open and I completely missed dinner. Not exactly a great start.

Upon arrival to the room that we had reserved prior we could not contact anyone at the facility. It took an hour and a half to get a hold of someone only for them to tell us that they had given our room to a walk in. They made absolutely no attempt to find us a room there or anywhere else. They just said sorry for the inconvenience and hung up. This was by far the worst rental experience I have ever had. Stranded 3 hours from home on memorial Day weekend with no place to stay.

House was not ready to be rented yet. Clearly incomplete without functioning WiFi or TVs. Construction made for not a peaceful stay

Lights and fan didn’t work for a day and a half. Couldn’t sleep and although they sent a technician this place did NOT meet our expectations. No amenities such as hand soap or even trash bags were provided. Back door never closed properly letting in humidity and bugs. We felt unsafe as a group of girls. WiFi was in and out. The company itself didn’t care to try and accommodate the rest of our needs. They ask a lot for checkout yet can’t provide any basics. Golf cart was SO complicated to figure out they didn’t get the right info. Any calls to them were dropped or they just spoke to us like they didn’t care. Overall I wouldn’t stay here, there are plenty of other properties with great hosts. Do not recommend at ALL

We booked this trip last minute with our 3 kids. We drove through the night, checked in at 2 am and slept. It was dark and we could not really see the state of the unit but could smell the mildew smell the moment we walked in. We aired out the room and just figured it’d be closed up for awhile. By 4pm the next day many issues raised. The toilet above us leaked into our bathroom, panhandle never sent anyone to clean it or fix it. Never did water mediation even though the entire ceiling was sopping soaked. We stayed 4 days and still nobody came to remedy this. Next, I investigated the smell, I found very extensive evidence of mold. In the AC, dishwasher, laundry machine, etc. it’s everywhere!! We contacted panhandle, they said they’d send someone to “clean” next day and asked I send pictures. I did and next day no one came, until I texted them at 2pm saying this wasn’t going to work and we wanted a refund. They sent someone after that to my unit without me knowing. It was not cleaned
