Manager Review

Panhandle Getaways

Panhandle Getaways's guest rating of 4.59 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

Upon arrival the pool was not cleaned for quite some time. Algae was present and water was so cloudy you couldn’t see the bottom. We ask for it to be cleaned and pool guy shows up doesn’t vacuum pool just scrapes the sides with a brush, pours chemicals in and says give it 4 hours. This was 10 am. Bugs galore in pool. No dip net. We rented the house for the pool. Also pool area is grown up with weeds that haven’t been trimmed or taken care of in quite some time. The beds were comfy and everything else was okay. House wasn’t the cleanest. Showers could use some bleach. Dead water bugs downstairs and saw ants.

Great house. Property management had a lot of expectations with checkout procedures. Late check- in but early checkout, as well. Generic not well detailed instructions made finding the home difficult. Didn’t provide beach access bracelets. Other things came up and trying to find a point of contact to help address issues was difficult.

We were notified the day before our trip that our original unit at Splash was unavailable due to a maintenance issue. We were traveling with a large family and had booked two units well in advance specifically so we could all stay together. Only one unit was affected, and it was managed by a different company, which handled the situation without issue. We asked for this unit to be relocated somewhere else within Splash so our family could remain together. Instead, we were moved about 20 minutes away to a different property with numerous rules and restrictions. This significantly changed the vacation we had planned and saved for. The property itself was beautiful, but we also experienced the smoke detectors going off in the middle of the night, requiring a 911 call. We later learned it was a nuisance alarm and apparently had happened before, which was concerning. The property was nice, but being separated from our family made this a very different vacation than the one we booked.

I typically give properties the benefit of the doubt. This is different. Ants were everywhere and when the hosts brought traps it got even worse. This morning I woke up with a swollen arm and two ant bites in my bed. I told the host about the situation and the response was simply “so sorry” and we hope to see you next time. Dirty beds, ants, and a very annoying constant drip in the primary shower made this family trip to the beach a nightmare.

Did not have our door code when we arrived at 7pm or room number so we had to wait on arrival. Just be aware this is a “2 minute walk” from a beach that you won’t have access to. Your wristband gives you access for a tram that takes you to the beach that you call for but we called over 15 times with no answer most of the time & when they did answer we waited an hour & a half for a tram that NEVER came after following up 3 times. Such a waste of time & a disappoint to advertise this amenity. Every time we had to walk about 15 minutes to the closest public beach or Inlet beach which is about a mile away which is difficult if you are carrying all of your beach gear. Black mold on the ceiling right outside the door. Extremely loud neighbors kept us up until 3am one night. Brought 2 full sized suitcases & there was nowhere in the space to fully open either one of them so it’s pretty tight on space. If you simply want to explore the town this spot is fine but if you want a beach trip don’t.

Very disappointed with this listing. Did not come close to how it looked online and overpriced. Old building, old worn furniture, sticky doors, was dirty and smelled stale. 3rd bedroom was a dirty, converted lanai connected to master bedroom with no privacy. This unit should not be rented out.

Absolutely not what we were expecting. Mold on the ceiling for starters, that they didn’t tell us about which is a safety concern. Tv didn’t work the first night it stayed on the same channel and you couldn’t change it. Toilet paper is the $1 roll from dg that hurts you when you wipe. When you call them, they will hang up, laugh at your inconvenience and not accommodate your concerns the only nice one was the manager I believe her name was Stacy the rest need a new job. Said access to 2 beaches and no you don’t get that you only have access to 1 public beach for the price of $1,300 and they can’t even give you a private beach access.

House was not ready to be rented yet. Clearly incomplete without functioning WiFi or TVs. Construction made for not a peaceful stay

Upon arrival to the room that we had reserved prior we could not contact anyone at the facility. It took an hour and a half to get a hold of someone only for them to tell us that they had given our room to a walk in. They made absolutely no attempt to find us a room there or anywhere else. They just said sorry for the inconvenience and hung up. This was by far the worst rental experience I have ever had. Stranded 3 hours from home on memorial Day weekend with no place to stay.

Lights and fan didn’t work for a day and a half. Couldn’t sleep and although they sent a technician this place did NOT meet our expectations. No amenities such as hand soap or even trash bags were provided. Back door never closed properly letting in humidity and bugs. We felt unsafe as a group of girls. WiFi was in and out. The company itself didn’t care to try and accommodate the rest of our needs. They ask a lot for checkout yet can’t provide any basics. Golf cart was SO complicated to figure out they didn’t get the right info. Any calls to them were dropped or they just spoke to us like they didn’t care. Overall I wouldn’t stay here, there are plenty of other properties with great hosts. Do not recommend at ALL
