KEES Vacations
4.45Visit website
KEES Vacations's guest rating of 4.45 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“The reason for my lesser than 5 star review is because I was not informed prior to my arrival about the broken AC. The main floor of the house was down, no communication before so I could book a different place; no comms day of when I called to check in that we were on our way; no manager callback as requested for more than 24 hours. We checked in on Monday and didn’t have AC on the main floor. On Thursday (day 4 of 6) the condensing unit outside was finally fixed. Of course having to deal with the heat on the main floor we couldn’t eat up there as a family without sweating; it was +82-88F for days up there. The grill was also unusable, but they did bring a new one on Thursday (day 4 of 6) despite begging for it Wednesday to grill out. Hygiene supply dispensers missing and/not filled; never fixed. Otherwise the house was nice! We loved the location! We even appreciated once things were fixed (late in the vacation), and we did eventually get calls back and appreciate them too!”airbnb

“The outside trash was swarming with cockroaches at night and we were visited with one live cockroach. Upon further inspection we found many dead cockroaches behind furniture and in the closets. The sink it the bathroom had basically no water pressure making simple tasks like washing your face or brushing your teeth difficult. There were stains on the sheets in the bedroom and a stain in the shower. The kitchen had a very odd microwave/oven which was not described in the listing and there were no instructions in the guidebook on how to operate. The cookware was also dirty and very very old. If it had been clean and not infested with cockroaches it would have been a very nice place to say considering the proximity to the marina and beaches.”airbnb

“This place had bugs everywhere and stains on the bed sheets. It also didn’t have amenities like shower gel stalked up and so we had to buy that and bug spray just to sleep.”airbnb

“It was our first time in OBX and the location is a nice mix of peace and quiet that’s unbeatable. The shops for almost all your needs are nearby and access to a private beach is a huge plus - if you or family member have ADA needs, the closest beach is 5 minutes away! The only downside is the host/rental company advertise that this house is “recently renovated” but that doesn’t seem to hold much truth. The floors were extremely dirty (leaving black marks on our children’s feet) and many of the appliances were in desperate need of replacing. Perhaps updated photos would help so people know exactly what they are paying for. The bench on the second floor balcony no longer exists but is instead 2 egg chairs - again not bad but not what’s advertised. Also, the door to the basement entryway NEEDS a lock for the interior. We had to barricade the door to prevent our little ones from running outside. The pool and hot tub did not disappoint. Overall, it was a great trip but wouldn't stay again.”airbnb

“We stayed at Tidewater Tranquility from May 13–17, 2026. The home itself was very nice, clean, and well-maintained. Unfortunately, our experience was impacted by an internet outage that caused the TVs to stop working and prevented our devices from connecting. On our checkout day, we were also awakened at 5:15 a.m. by a smoke detector chirping in the bedrooms, which continued until we checked out at 10:00 a.m. I reported both issues through the Kees Vacations app and was told management would be notified. After hearing nothing, I called several days later and was told no complaint had been filed. Even after providing screenshots of my original report, I never received a resolution or follow-up. The property was nice, but the lack of communication and customer service was disappointing, especially given the cost of the stay. I would have appreciated a simple acknowledgment of the issues and some effort to address our concerns after the fact.”airbnb

“Door code provided was incorrect when we arrived after a 10 hour car ride very frustrating! Leak under sink pouring water out the first night & it was fixed the next day. My son got stuck in the bathroom because the locks where to hard for him to unlock they seemed to stick. Missing blanket on one of the beds had to DoorDash one our first night.”airbnb

“Nice location, however unit had stained bedsheets, a broken toilet seat, toilet was also clogged and mold on the shower curtain. Wouldn’t stay here again”airbnb

“This is nothing like the photos. Outside had stray cats, a filthy couch with no cushions, trash, and junk. The lodging appeared clean inside until further inspection. Massive stains on the bed, bed sheets smelled like a man and trash on the floor. Some buildings had blinds that were broken and overall not a quality place. We did not stay here due to this and had to find other accommodations with a toddler and infant!”airbnb

“Our room was 80 degrees when we walked in, the AC did not work or was heating uncontrollably. We arrived after 5pm and there was no one around to help or respond to messages, once they responded at 9am we were on the way out. Had to sleep with the window open which felt very unsafe but the heat was unbearable otherwise. Would definitely recommend arriving before 5pm so you can have any issues sorted out before the staff clocks out.”airbnb

“They did not clearly define and do their part to uphold the rules of their contract. They waited until after check in to verify their age rule that is not the same as the law of HOA.”airbnb
