This place was very cute. Originally booked for a solo trip to a wedding, my husband was able to join last minute. I would have gotten a different Airbnb knowing it would be the two of us instead. It is pretty small. The bathtub (it is advertised as only having a bathtub, which I didn't notice), had a handle much like a kitchen sink handle that came out for a "shower"-like experience. It made the same noise a kitchen sink sprayer does, so it woke me up when he showered. There was no salt/pepper as was advertised, which was a bit annoying as we didn't get it at the store on the way. Not having extra bath towels/washcloths was another small inconvenience. There was a walnut tree dropping some pretty good sized walnuts right over the driveway, so I was a little worried about our rental getting dented (thankfully it didn't). Overall it was a decent place, loved the fire pit, but also feel they should provide firewood for the price of the stay and for the convenience of their guests.

Everything about the house was great, super clean , comfortable , and outdoor space was fantastic. Our only issue was they forgot to plug in the water pump, so we didn’t have barely any water pressure the first 36 hours. We went into the crawl space and figured it out.

The overall house was beautiful, but know that this is not a luxury house. It is very dated and needs to be detailed cleaned and updated. The architecture and grounds are absolutely beautiful! Our main issue was with the cleanliness of the property. I had my 40th Birthday girls weekend here and the first morning was spent dealing with the issues of extremely dirty bathrooms, linens, and couches. We were planning to have breakfast on the outside deck, but it had not been cleaned. Unfortunately, that area was not available to be used until they cleaned in the last night we were there. Once we reached out to Yonder they took quite awhile to contact us, so we had already moved people around and went to the store to make our accommodations better. If you do not plan on using the basement rooms and bring a few of your own towels and bed linens you will truly enjoy this place! It just didn’t live up to the description and the standards we are used to.

Unfortunately, my stay at this Yonder property in Asheville ruined my birthday trip. An unknown vehicle was at the property when we arrived, and we had not been told to expect anyone there. The hot tub was also dirty and unusable. We were initially told it had been cleaned, but Yonder later acknowledged that it had not. Despite raising the issue, no one came to clean it during our stay. We also experienced poor handling of my partner’s trained service animal. My partner is a military veteran. Yonder was unaccommodating and also claimed the property was not pet-friendly, even though it was advertised that way when we booked. I sent a screen recording showing where they listed it being pet-friendly and explained that it influenced our booking decision for excursions. After sharing that they stopped responding. The conflicting information, unusable amenity, lack of follow-through, & inhospitable communication made this such a disappointing stay. I would not book this property again.

Beware, despite the listing saying that a rental agreement is required for stays over 90 days, Yonder still wanted a third party contract signed for our 4 night stay. The home needs maintenance, many lights, fans, and door latches were inoperable including the door to the master bathroom and shower. The tree house space is not usable in the summer, the tiny AC unit can not keep up with the heat and humidity. Deck furniture was moldy and unkempt. The shore line near the house is not well maintained. Fallen trees are submerged near the shore and dock making swimming dangerous and providing plenty of nesting sites for water snakes, of which we saw many near the house. The owners pontoon on the dock is junky and not maintained.

We booked this property on short notice & one of our top criteria was easy lake access. Many houses on the lake sit very high on the slopes & there can be many stair steps to get to the lake. This property has approx 40 stepping stones that are not as steep as stairs. Note that none of the pictures in the listing clearly shows this, and when we inquired, the property mgmt company was unable to provide additional pics. There are 2 rafts/floats and 2 kayaks in the boat house, so that was a big "plus" for our rating. The property faces SSW, so from noon on, the boat dock was in the sun and also on the front of the house. The AC kept up even while afternoons were in the high 80's, but note that they are wall units so they will be noisy inside compared to conventional central air systems. We found trash in the chairs on the boathouse, dusty shelves on the bathroom, and some not so clean dishes, plus lots of ants in the kitchen/dining area. Also, watch out for bears!

The listing was described as follows when I booked this rental: “Peaceful and tucked in the woods-yet minutes to I-40 for easy day trips” “This home is located in a peaceful, private mountain community” It also states it is a “relaxing setting” There is constant, very loud noise from the highway that can be heard on the back porch (which has the view of the mountains), and in the entire residence if the windows are open. This was quite unexpected based on the listing description. Before booking any listing with them, please review the Yelp reviews so you are fully informed on their unethical behavior and complete disregard for guest safety and customer satisfaction. I ended up leaving after the first night. Yonder has continued to deny my refund request for 6 nights and has admitted there is constant highway noise as evidenced by their edited listing, yet they continue to tell me that their listing was accurately described at the time I booked the listing.

I have never had such a bad air b&b experience. The home was poorly maintained, and outdated. The back porch was covered in mildew and moss, the gutters had plants growing out of them! The furnishings were very dated and some of it was damaged. There were no blinds or curtains on most of the bedroom windows making it hard to sleep. There were no shower doors, so water got all over the floor every time you showered. The kitchen was well equipped, and the space was large enough for a family to enjoy. The pool was a nice feature. The pond nearby was fun to walk to. The house had no visible numbers from the street and no lights were on, so we arrived in pitch black darkness and couldn’t find the path up from the driveway to the front door. The driveway was steep and treacherous. The basement was very musty and had a dehumidifier running which we had to empty the tank of every day. I would not recommend this place at all. It was not what we pictured for our family vacation.

Beautiful property but the customer service & communication was terrible. If you have any issues don’t expect them to be considerate.
