Visit Up North Vacation Rentals

Visit Up North Vacation Rentals's guest rating of 4.71 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

Cute place, convenient location near wineries, would definitely stay there again.

We loved it. Went to get away from it all. The beach was awesome and our dogs loved it. Celebrated 60 years of being alive wasn't so bad!

Fairly decent, location is amazing and private with no neighbors and private beach. The windowed back porch was a godsend to escape the stable flies midday and the view is amazing. I was a little bummed that the cottage has a pretty musty smell from being closed up so much and could use some updates. Overall we had a good time.

Sulfur water that didn’t dissipate all week. Half of the lightbulbs were burnt out. Frat house vibes. Not kid friendly stairs. For the amount we paid not worth it. Nice location and clean bathrooms.

Beautiful Cabin, very private space and remote. This property is at the end of a 1 way dirt path through the woods. Be aware as photos don’t show this. Very hard to get uber or lift. If you plan on staying in, this is the place for you, not easy to commute to or from. Be mindful of the lake and that there will be a lot of skeeters. Bring some bug spray

Being in proximity to the TART trail, downtown area, water, pier, restaurants was a great attribute! Occasionally the Cantina next door could get a little loud. The property description listed “parking: room for 2 cars (including roadside parking)”. We rented the Green Shutter Cottage only which does not include parking on the property (we had one car). When I asked for clarity via texting the host, I received an answer 12 hours later from Lindsay saying “did you figure it out? I hope so.” Otherwise we found the rental cozy, clean, and very enjoyable.

The physical description of the property is accurate. However, there were swarms of unmanaged mosquitoes outside that made the outdoor space completely unusable. You couldn't walk from the car to the home without being swarmed. I have stayed all throughout Traverse City, including on the water, and the mosquitoes at this location are easily the worst ever. They are out of control. Screens on the doors and windows were also broken so we couldn't crack a window at any point to hear the water or get a breeze without mosquitoes coming inside. The place was dirty. Dishes were dirty and needed to be rewashed, cobwebs were in the bedroom, a window was left open in the basement so bugs got in. For some reason there is still an envelope to tip the house cleaners. Multiple window treatments were broken as well. The rods to open the blinds didn't exist so we had to use our fingers to turn the little metal piece on almost all the windows in the master bedroom. The toaster was also broken.

This was a nice property, walkable distance to the beach, the store, coffee and restaurants. It was right across the road from the Crystal River which was great, but people who attend the canoe/kayak place next to the river spot do park along the road and block the view during the day. The description said 35mph road, but it is a few ft from the 45mph spot and many do speed past the property. The smaller bedroom's bed sinks down in the middle, so it was difficult to get comfortable. The kitchen had enough cooking supplies and there were enough towels and blankets. It was great to have a usable grill. The refrigerator was all rusted on the side touching the stove and that was unappetizing. We appreciated the property allowing dogs, as that was the main reason to choose this property. The $320 a night price tag was too much for the actual property and amenities. The best amenity was that it was close to other things off property and that it allowed dogs.

I had five guests with me so the areas where we were to sleep we’re very important. The bed in one room was very uncomfortable. The couch also was very uncomfortable. Should honestly be tossed out. I gave the review that I did because the areas to stay were very important and they failed. I do not believe what I paid reflected where I stayed.
