“⚠️ Warning to future guests. Our family of 7 had a very disappointing stay. The location was great, and if the house had been clean and pest-free, it easily could have been a 5-star stay. Unfortunately, we found live fleas throughout the house. Our dogs were covered in fleas, and all 7 of us had bites around our ankles. We provided photos/videos documenting the problem. The property management company sent an inspector who spent less than 5 minutes walking through the 4-story house and declared there were no bugs. We found 5 live fleas in one room within minutes of him leaving. They refused to relocate us, saying we might take fleas with us, while insisting the house was bug-free. Airbnb was very helpful and refunded us 30% per day after we reported the issue. The pool is about 20 minutes away with limited hours, and the Wi-Fi was out for most of our week. We would not stay here again and recommend future guests carefully consider these issues before booking.”

“The house was nice it needed some work. The washing machine leaked. The boards around the house were rotting including the ones under the hot tub. Everything was dated. The carpet was stained in some areas. There was pee on the toilet seat in the upper bathe room and I had to clean it. The downstairs bathroom had tile trim hanging on by tape. It just needs to have some care. The ping pong table was broken. Overall we enjoyed our stay but we will not rent this property again.”

“This was a beautiful location and the elevator was so helpful. We found that the house cleaning was lacking and there was noticeable dust and filth. We also felt like some of the fixtures could use some updating.”

“I reported multiple issues with the home that in no way happened with people previously their before us...Dirty kitchen cupboards & dishes, bedroom linen dirty & flooring dirty. Outside lighting bulbs blown in many lighting fixtures. All sliding glass doors leaked & were very hard to open & shut, screen doors missing or ripped, wi-fi was horrible, TV remotes missing & no batteries. In 4th floor bedroom a board with rusty nails off by the door. Small dining set chairs broken & unsafe. The pool the cement bottom broken & needs redone. It took over 24 hours for maintenance to come. I spoke with the gentleman told him my concerns, he was there 10 minutes tops, took the board with rusty nails, checked the sliding glass doors & stated they were probably difficult because of leaking so they swelled. Then he disappeared, no communication as to remedy etc. He did place lights outside for exterior, but never said anything. I took my grandchildren 10, 3 & 2. The environment was unsafe.”

“House is 20 minutes from the pool and you have to summit a 30 ft tall sand dune to get to the beach. No joke. Small kids or elderlies, handicapped, etc couldn't do it. Kitchen has an ant problem. No ice maker or trays. Carpet is shot. The house is cozy but needs a major refresh. Paint, new vinyl plank flooring throughout (carpet is stupid at the beach), grass cut and bushes trimmed, etc. Clothes washer/dryer are downstairs under the house. Trash was never picked up on either scheduled day. That's the bad. On the other hand, it was clean enough, comfortable and in a nice location. Ocean was visible from roof deck. Pool, although far, was very nice and we worked it into trips to Avon for groceries, etc. I loved the surf decor. Beach was beautiful and quiet once you scaled Everest.”

“It wasn't the cleanest when we got there, dirty smeared handprints on the sliding glass doors, pizza sauce on cushions, table had to be wiped down. Everything else was clean. There was a lot of damage or things falling apart that I sent pictures in as soon as we did our initial walk through. It needs some updating, the master bedroom bed was sooooo uncomfortable. Back pain every morning. But other than that we loved the house and area and had an amazing trip. We enjoyed the hot tub and pool but the pool was pretty dirty too it didn't look like anyone kept up with it. Our daughter stepped on a stick or something on the bottom and cut her toe.”

“The place was okay to stay at! The housekeeper needs to clean a lot better. The kitchen table had food all over it, which I’m sure from the family before us. There was only one tv in the place, which I’m use to having several tvs in each room. The place wasn’t terrible my husband and I expected a lot more for what we paid for. There was a hugs dog bone under the couch with cheezits and a glob of hair. There was also a pile of sand left at the table near the sliding door that my son ended up cleaning it. It could use some better updates for sure. The couches are hard and could use an update. The place is spacious however and gives a lot of room to move around. I love that it’s dog friendly fire sure. The mosquitoes are horrible there because they bit me. Maybe some tiki’s to put out back or spray or something.”

“Absolutely would not stay here again! 1. Master bathroom has 2 doors. One with a lock (that does not work and the door sticks) and the other has no lock. 2. In order to use the 4 single beds you have to go through someone else’s room to use it (not very convenient). 3. 4 remotes with no identifying information of what they do or use. 4. Refrigerator door does not shut if you just lightly push it (watch out to make sure it closes). 5. Absolutely ridiculous amount to pay for 5 nights (minimum required)”

“Our stay was extremely disappointing, we would NOT recommend booking with this company. The biggest issue was they failed to disclose that major construction would be taking place directly in front of the beachfront home during our stay and will continue to happen. When we reached out regarding the construction and other issues, it took 5 days to respond. Despite the significant disruption to our vacation, they refused to offer any compensation. It was even more frustrating learning that neighboring properties received compensation for the inconvenience. The company claimed they did not know when the construction would occur, yet admitted they had been aware of the project since the spring. At no point was any construction warning disclosed. We found cockroaches on both floors & broken porch post. This was concerning because we were traveling with children and cleanliness is not their priority! By far the most disappointing rental company experiences we've had in NC. Don’t book them!”

“Fair warning to anyone booking, the photos used on Airbnb are the same photos from when it was sold in 2020. This listing should have come with a disclaimer that the property and surrounding was severely affected by the 2025 hurricane. The surrounding property is covered in debris, there is large wood pieces with nails, glass covering the beach, rebar sticking up out of the sand. One of our guests sliced her foot open on sand covered rebar just feet from the house. The upstairs balcony also has loose bars that are unsafe for small children. Upon arrival our door code didn’t work, that was fixed after a phone call. However we found >5 roaches, and when bringing this up to them I was told it’s a normal occurrence. However, I travel 2x per year to Florida and have never once experienced roaches in this manner. Our garbage was also full at arrival and never taken throughout the week. There is no home manual, that explains anything. My family and I will not be returning. Unsafe for kids.”
