Manager Review

Extra Holidays

Extra Holidays's guest rating of 4.70 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

So I had to wait about 2 hours until they could send someone to clean my room. Which they did not. They just switched to another more expensive room. Of coarse they put me in a room with heavy construction in the room above mine from 6am until 5pm everyday. I complained about the noise, the people at the desk seemed un happy with me. They then gave me another room, which I had to move all of my things again. Did not even allow me to use a cart. The floors in the room were filthy. There was zero internet on the property. We could only stay connected for 3 min at a time. I was there on business, so this created a real problem. The pool was shut down for at least 3 days, I lost interest and stopped checking. Both BBQ grills near my room did not work properly the entire time. The landscapers were literally blowing rocks against my window at 5am sharp. I complained to the front desk, they said sorry nothing we will do about that. I feel like I have been ripped off for 1,000. Never again.

The concierge and the rest of the staff had minimal knowledge about the surrounding area. The room appeared to look “clean” upon entry and then soon noticed it had mold on the base boards, thick black mold and dead centipedes in the track of the sliding glass door, room was not cleaned or given fresh towels daily and it smelled like mold/grey water after the first day. The toilet was running and not fixed when notified of the problem, soap scum in the shower and the shower door didn’t close all the way. They charged for WiFi at the daily rate of $20, when the posting made it appear as if WiFi was included. The facility did not look like the picture at all, they indicated that the bed was a queen and not the hideaway full-size bed that it actually was. Will never stay here again and 10/10 NOT RECOMMEND!

They cancelled my original booking two days prior. They tried to rebook me at a hotel room instead of condo. They tried to take comms of Airbnb. They then moved me to another resort not managed by them when I told them I wanted to keep comms on Airbnb. They said I wouldn't have to pay anything other than what I already paid on Airbnb, but resort charged me an extra $95 in addition to what I already paid. Now I'm short on my budget and don't know if/when I will get my $95 back. Terrible experience.

Host was unresponsive. I was basically stranded with a toddler and partner in 90 plus degree weather and no accommodation for the inconvenience would not recommend. The actual hotel The Plaza was nice though. It wasn’t their fault. It was Airbnbs fault and the host.

This is just hosted by Extra Holidays, that’s not the name of the resort. The resort is beautiful but there wasn’t any good access points to swim in the lake, you’d have to drive about 30 mins to Blue Lake or we went through the State Park access to get to the shore. Extra Holidays is just a third party company for these types of bookings and they have horrible wait times, communication is horrible, and they didn’t confirm my reservation was actually made. My family and I had to wait over an hour in the front trying to get it resolved with the property management. I like the place so I extended my stay one night and the same issue happened again, no clear communication that I had extended my stay, I had to call and wait for an extended amount of time. They say they are available 24/7 but the response time on the air bnb app says the average response is 7 hrs. And mine exceeded that on the app.

Honest to god most predatory hotel I’ve been to. Wouldn’t stay here there are cheaper and better options in SF.

I did not realize when booking that Extra Holidays was a third-party management company rather than booking directly through the condo or owner. Any questions or concerns we submitted through the app we were then asked to contact the condo front desk instead of being handled directly, which was both frustrating and confusing. I usually pay closer attention when booking and would not choose to book through Extra Holidays again.

Regrettably, the establishment was in a state of disarray. Upon arrival, guests are not provided with a permanent key. Instead, they are directed to visit a representative the following day, who attempts to sell them a timeshare. On our initial night, we were informed that the elevator was non-functional, and the sole operational elevator was the service elevator. Consequently, we were compelled to traverse the rear of the pool through a gate obscured by leaves, which proved to be difficult to locate. The following morning, the elevator remained inoperative, necessitating the use of the service stairs and a detour through the lobby to reach the parking lot. The experience was frustrating, and the staff exhibited carelessness and unprofessionalism. The hotel’s overall impression was one of low-class standards, as evidenced by my interaction with the front desk.
