Evonify Stays

Evonify Stays's guest rating of 4.67 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

Unfortunately, my experience did not match expectations. The Wi-Fi was unreliable, the hot water did not work properly, and I experienced electrical issues during my stay. I reported these problems, but they were not resolved before I left. I ended up checking out a day early and did not receive a response to my request for a partial refund.

I would STRONGLY caution others before booking with this SHADY company. First, they required a security deposit outside of Airbnb, which should have raised concerns. The bigger issue came at check-in: the unit I arrived at was not the 2-bedroom unit I had reserved. Instead, I was given a 1-bedroom. When I contacted them, they claimed they had notified me through Airbnb that my original unit was unavailable due to a pipe issue. However, there was no such message in the Airbnb chat. They also made no effort to proactively find a comparable replacement and only checked other properties after I specifically asked. I then had to scramble to find and book another Airbnb at the last minute. Communication was frustrating throughout: every interaction was either with a chatbot or a different “support” representative. They refunded the security deposit but not the reservation cost. After days of being told they were “looking into it” I had to involve Airbnb Support to get my money back.

We had a truly terrible experience at the apartment we rented. My two children—ages 8 and 6—and I had booked the unit, with a scheduled check-in time of 7:00 PM. However, when we finally arrived at 9:00 PM at the apartment we had paid for, we discovered that someone else was already inside. That person claimed they had also rented the very same apartment, just as we had. I immediately called the host, and—would you believe her solution?—she told me there was absolutely nothing she could do to help us at that moment. She simply said that if I wasn't happy, I should just cancel the reservation. Mind you, it was 10:00 PM by then; my daughter and I were forced to wait outside in the courtyard in 90-degree heat, my daughter was crying hysterically. I tried calling the host again to see if she could offer any assistance, but she remained unyielding. She insisted she bore no responsibility to compensate us for the distress and damages we were enduring, lme and my kid have to sleep in the car

We arrive to the apartment and found it in an uninhabitable state. Beds beds weren’t made, sheets and towels weren’t washed, the bathrooms were nasty, and the trash can was full. The apartment obviously wasn’t cleaned prior to our arrival. We reached out to Evonify who seems to be based in Boston and at first they said they were sending their personnel to clean. After an hour of waiting we reached out again and they tried to have us stay at a different location that was much smaller and wouldn’t be able to accommodate my family of 4. We continuously tried calling and they wouldn’t answer the phone. Despite the urgency of the matter they responded every 30-40 minutes. 3 hours later waiting for the cleaning staff they tell the only resolution would be to accept the smaller apartment. We decided to find a hotel and requested a refund yet still they contacted us the following day asking if we stayed. I would give 0 stars if it was possible. Absolutely my worst Air BnB experience.

Trip cost me $300 and an additional $250 for THEIR insurance, where on here in Airbnb they just say it’s $300… why not put the whole total as $550?? No refund received back and a whole lot of miscommunication. Words can’t explain the bill I went through with these people and Airbnb.

FALSE ACCUSATIONS - HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE The property had a noticeable unpleasant smell throughout the stay, which affected the overall experience. After checkout, the host made questionable accusations about towel stains that felt like an attempt to withhold additional money. The conduct came across as unethical and operating in bad faith. Additionally, this was the only Airbnb experience we’ve had where an extra “security deposit” had to be paid through the host’s private external website after full payment was already made via Airbnb. Check-in details and entry codes were only released after this payment, which felt misleading and uncomfortable. Overall, the experience seemed more focused on extracting additional payments than providing proper hospitality. Would not recommend.

I SPENT $1.3K SO YOU DON’T HAVE TO — AVOID EVONIFY CO-HOST AIRBNBS Our family of three checked in on April 27 and left by the next day noon (less than 24hrs) while we booked for 7 days. The living room sofa was broken, and the floors were damaged and noisy. The bathroom is small and the only place with a mirror. The bedroom had NO desk, NO chair, and NO dresser. I requested clean towels and bedding in advance, but the closet hangers were dusty so we had to wash them ourselves. I doubt if they did. I also experienced bed bugs bites after one night. I asked for a partial refund since we left early. They initially said they would process it after we moved out, but later said they could not. Honestly I do not expect any money back. A nearby 4-star hotel costs about the SAME. Stupid me didn’t choose hotel this time simply cause they didn’t have double beds the first night.
