Carolina Breeze Vacations

Carolina Breeze Vacations's guest rating of 4.53 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

We have stayed at Marsh View Escape the past two years, but this year under Carolina Breeze Vacations by Casago was a completely different experience. Communication was a major issue, as they preferred texting instead of keeping concerns documented in Airbnb. We reported the master bedroom light not working and were repeatedly told it was fixed, but it never was. The hall tub would not hold water for our three-year-old, and the stopper provided was for a kitchen sink, not a bathtub. The child’s bedroom had a noticeable marijuana odor. We also found bugs in both bathrooms, dirty floors, a loose master headboard, sheets that would not stay on the bed, and very worn, uncomfortable pillows. They did not respond in Airbnb about the light until around 10 a.m. on checkout day, after we had already left at 7:30 a.m. Based on this year’s experience, we would not stay here again or feel comfortable booking another Casago-managed property.

Don’t stay here or rent from this company. The place was not cleaned before our stay. We found dirty sheets, comforters, towels and a dirty bathroom. A used q tip was found on the floor. The AC doesn’t work upstairs. Outside is a vile, damp, moldy storage room that makes the entire property, inside too, smell like mold. The property has bug issues (ants, cockroaches) and they were outside, in the kitchen, in people’s bedrooms. We asked for a second trash can, the only one there was a non-city can. It was not taken on trash day and when we requested pickup a city can appeared. We were told that would take too long. A sewer line broke while staying and we couldn’t use the water. They never informed me when it was fixed until I asked. The office was rude, unhelpful and lacked urgency to solve problems. I had to ask twice for towels and was rudely told to wash them. I was gaslit that we didn’t see cockroaches. I was told to close the blinds and the AC works. Don’t waste your money here.

The location is great. Ocean “view” only because it’s a row back, but there’s no building in front of it so you feel like you’re ocean front. Upon check in, there was a terrible smell in the private master coming from the A/C unit. There was chicken in one of the bar stools, and hair in the bathroom. Overall the space is nice.

Would never recommend. Weren’t sent the unit number on the day of arrival. Received the wrong Wi-Fi password as well. Had to walk up 6 flights of stairs. Unit was old and bandaged together. Floors had tons of sand, food grime on kitchen cabinets, windows had sunscreen handprints on them, did not appear cleaners did anything other than superficial things to make it seem like it had been serviced. Given one roll of toilet paper (partially used) for each bathroom. Just terrible. Texted the manager on Saturday when we arrived about the state of the place - they said they’d send the cleaners back out twice never happened until I asked a third time on THURSDAY (4/5 days later)!

Overall, the stay was okay. Codes to enter did not work, had to utilize a lock box for the key to the downstairs. House was not very well cleaned. Sandy and dusty/dirty floors. Dressers and furniture could use an update.

The house was very cozy and fit our family needs, from adults to the kids. The kitchen was very well stocked and had some complimentary cleaning supplies. The view of the ocean is incredible! Fun to sit on the porch, but the rocking chairs will throw you backwards. Something not quite right with their construction. A major quick walk to the beach!! Also, this section of beach wasn’t really crowded and the pier was a short distance away. As far as management. We came back from a walk, the keypad was dead and we were locked out from 6-7:30pm. Maintenance is located 1.5 hours away in Shalotte. He got there and changed the batteries. Still dead. Had to keep the one key with us. Couple days later, a different person replaced the whole thing. Ice maker didn’t work. She came out and repaired that. The big deal was the keypad. There were conflicting messages from so many people. They weren’t on the same page and I didn’t know who was who. Nice house. Management?????Maintenance busy, A++

Beds are extremely uncomfortable and ended up sleeping on the couch. Called and asked for more pilliow and waited the whole stay and they never came. During first night of stay found the whole back yard infested with cockroaches. Had to kill a few inside house. Could not enjoy yard at all during night time only during the daylight. Called them directly to tell them about it and its been over a week and haven't heard back from them since.

Booked with Carolina Breeze just to be told later the house wasn't available, but they had another similar. Wasn't thrilled about the change, but accepted. We had something come up and needed to move our dates up by a couple of days (same amount of days, same week) instead of Sun-Fri we requested Tues-Sat. They charged us like $300 just to switch the dates although we we did not complain when they switched our whole vacation rental. I got a message while on vacation that we could stay another night at a discounted rate. Knowing the house obviously wasn't booked for Saturday night I asked if we could just check out a little later. They were going to charge $45 to check out at 2 instead of 11. The pictures of the home were very misleading. There was appeared to be a fishing dock giving us the impression the house was by water, but there was no water. The only dock was down the road and the water had dried up and was closed. House was ok and good location but won't rent through CB again.

Pot smoke I immediately called about and spoke with someone but nobody ever reached back out about it. People upstairs kept us and our kids up all night so we cut our trip short and came home
