Nice place for a large family retreat with many bedrooms and beautiful long range view. Blue Ridge Rentals were accommodating hosts and highly responsive to any questions or requests. The furnishings and flooring in the home is a bit outdated and worn in spots, but overall a very comfortable place and we had a great experience.

We had an amazing stay at The Golden Retreat and already can’t wait to come back! The cabin was exactly as described — spotless, beautifully maintained, and incredibly cozy with all new, comfortable furniture. The location was perfect: peaceful, private, and surrounded by gorgeous mountain ridge views from both the living room and the elevated deck. We spent our evenings grilling out, relaxing around the fire pit, and soaking in the quiet mountain atmosphere. Our dogs absolutely loved exploring and hiking up the dead-end road nearby, which leads to another stunning scenic overlook. It felt like the perfect pet-friendly getaway. One of our favorite surprise touches was finding board games and books tucked away in the cabinet by the fireplace, which made the space feel even more welcoming and family-friendly. If you’re looking for a relaxing mountain retreat with beautiful views, privacy, cozy amenities, and a true cabin getaway feel, The Golden Retreat is absolutely perfect

The home is beautiful and private. Very peaceful. Really nice amenities with the hot tub, fireplace, fire pit, pool table, games, stereo and so appreciative of it being dog friendly. We never turned the TV on once with a houseful of older kids!

Getting the correct code for getting inside was a slight challenge. People were incredibly friendly and helpful. Peole need to understand it is a double pocedure, you need to get the key out of the lock box. Once this was explained. it was easy.

The only shower with hot water was in the basement. All other showers were hot and then quickly turned cold. All sinks in the bathrooms ran only cold water. There were not enough washcloths and hand towels. There were only 11 forks and very few small spoons. I reported the water issue and it was never resolved. I spoke with a staff person who said she would have some washcloths/hand towels delivered but we never received them.

We were not notified until the day of our arrival that we could not stay at the house we had booked due to electrical problems caused by a lightning strike the prior weekend. We received other communication the week before arrival, but there was no mention that we might not be able to stay there. The fact that we had to scramble last minute just 4 hours before check in, when we were all coming from several hours away, was stressful and unacceptable. The company should have worked with us ahead of time to find backup options in case the owner was not able to fix the electrical himself in time. We found an alternate rental house ourselves on their website as the options they provided did not meet our expectations or needs. Luckily it was available. But the second house did not have hot water upon arrival. A technician didn’t come out until about 4:00 PM the next day. The only silver lining in all of this was that the customer care rep, Rodena, was wonderful. She was very helpful .
