“We were not notified until the day of our arrival that we could not stay at the house we had booked due to electrical problems caused by a lightning strike the prior weekend. We received other communication the week before arrival, but there was no mention that we might not be able to stay there. The fact that we had to scramble last minute just 4 hours before check in, when we were all coming from several hours away, was stressful and unacceptable. The company should have worked with us ahead of time to find backup options in case the owner was not able to fix the electrical himself in time. We found an alternate rental house ourselves on their website as the options they provided did not meet our expectations or needs. Luckily it was available. But the second house did not have hot water upon arrival. A technician didn’t come out until about 4:00 PM the next day. The only silver lining in all of this was that the customer care rep, Rodena, was wonderful. She was very helpful .”
