BeachBox's guest rating of 4.61 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“The house was a complete mess the host stop messaging me when I came into an unclean and disgusting house. The pictures did not add up to it AT ALL. The floors were peeling up and had nails in the ground to hold it down… (they were also rusted) I also noticed that the house had such an AWFUL smell (like mold). I didn’t even get to stay at the house and they won’t refund me for it. The house overall is not safe for little kids, pets, and even adults. I would not recommend staying here.”airbnb

“Terrible experience. The areas outside of the property (carport, laundry room, pool deck and balcony, also all the surrounding grass areas) were infested with mosquitos, host was informed of this issue since day one and they said they would send someone to try and alleviate the issue but they never did, you couldn’t be outside without being swarmed. It was so bad that we decided to leave a day early. What was supposed to be a nice family weekend getaway just turned into a stressful and overwhelming situation.”airbnb

“The location by the lake is excellent, the community is beautiful, and the house itself was clean. However, we encountered a couple of significant issues. Most notably, the house has a severe foundation slant toward the lake, which actually triggered vertigo for one of our party members. Additionally, the outdoor trash can was spilled when we arrived, and a bathroom was clogged. When trying to resolve these issues, we only received automated AI responses through the messaging app and were unable to get any actual human interaction.”airbnb

“We booked this property for 4 nights. The first night of our stay went well and we initially enjoyed the home. During the second night, a tropical storm caused significant leaking inside the house along with flooding concerns. Maintenance was eventually sent out, but there was little communication regarding timing and we were not initially told when they would arrive. Fortunately, we happened to still be at the property when maintenance came. During the visit, maintenance acknowledged there were underlying infrastructure issues that could not realistically be fixed during our stay. Due to the ongoing leak, continued rain in the forecast, and concerns about the habitability of the home, we decided to check out early after only 2 nights of our 4 night reservation. We also experienced difficulty reaching a refund resolution directly with the host and ultimately had to involve Airbnb Support to assist with the situation”airbnb

“this was the worst stay I ever experienced through Airbnb. It was my birthday and Mother’s Day weekend first time in Galveston, Texas at the beach we felt rushed and rushed out. It wasn’t worth the day. We had to rush out at 11 PM to get dishes to eat off of and all they could say is, we’ll have Maintnance look into it will forward it to our Cleaners didn’t seem to really care when I asked for an extended check out. They denied it as they have people checking in the same, they were checking out and it was very noisy. You could hear every step through every apartment in the building. You have to walk-through the main bedroom to get to the bathroom, which is very inconvenient for everyone.”airbnb

“- Unfortunately, this place did not match the listing. The home appeared well-kept in photos but was poorly maintained in person, with stains, a strong odor, and visible water damage including lifted floorboards and exposed nails. - Cleanliness was the biggest issue. There was urine in a bathroom drawer upon arrival, along with trash left behind and bugs in the downstairs bedroom (a poorly sealed converted garage). Beds and pillows also did not feel clean. - I reported everything. Communication was fast but ineffective. Cleaners came briefly and left without fixing anything, and no proper follow-up occurred, so I ended up cleaning myself. Water pressure was low and the AC struggled. - Check-in and parking were easy. -There were also undisclosed cameras on the property, which raised privacy concerns (driveway and back patio). - Overall, not worth the price and I would not stay again.”airbnb

“These accommodations were not clean. There was mouse poop in the floor, the roof leaked, and the smell of mold/mildew was really bad. Some of the beds were broken, the game table was ruined from the roof leaking, and the furniture needs to be replaced (smelled like pee). When contacting them about the roof leaking, I received an AI message back that just said sorry for the inconvenience, which was very impersonal. No solution on what to do.”airbnb

“We chose to leave shortly after arrival because the property did not meet our expectations. To begin, the home presented online did not match the one we arrived at. The “beach view” shown in the listing was also not accurate upon arrival. Additionally, the outdoor trash cans were full, appearing as though they had not been emptied after the previous guests. Upon entering the home, there were minimal signs of proper cleaning—aside from sanitary strips on the toilets, empty trash bins, and made beds. The overall condition did not reflect a throughly cleaned or sanitized space. There was also a noticeable stale and unpleasant odor inside. As we looked around, we observed several areas that appeared to have been overlooked during cleaning. Due to these concerns, we felt uncomfortable remaining at the property and decided to book accommodations elsewhere.”airbnb

“I had a very unpleasant stay. It was only a two day stay and for the whole first day, I was trying to solve an issue with the host who never fixed my problem. Airbnb did. Ants all in the kitchen - like a lot! I had to throw away half my food because when I woke up, they were in everything! The carpet smelled gross, the whole place definitely needed some TLC. The fridge leaked puddles on the floor about three times a day, you can see it’s messing up the flooring. For the price, shampoo/ conditioner I think should be offered (but that’s just my opinion). The only thing that made the place nice was the pool. But the two maintains guys did show up randomly and it was a surprise seeing two people on the deck at 10am (they were nice though). I think the guest should be told in a message if they booked a day the cleaning is suppose to happen.”airbnb

“We had a disappointing stay overall. The AC went out during our visit, and after looking through other reviews, it seems this has been an ongoing issue that hasn’t been properly addressed. The cleanliness of the home was also below expectations. There were noticeable stains on the couch and bedding areas, the pool was dirty, and the house had a persistent unpleasant odor. Additionally, the listing photos appear to be heavily enhanced and don’t accurately reflect the current condition of the property. I would recommend the host address the maintenance and cleaning issues to improve future guest experiences.”airbnb
