BeachBox's guest rating of 4.61 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“We booked the Blue Whale for a family vacation. The home’s cleanliness needed some major attention. The furniture in the living areas were filthy and heavily stained. The games in the game room upstairs were broken unplugged and pushed into the corner behind a couch. The bedding had not been changed from the previous occupants. Hair and sand and some type of bugs in the bedding. The floor was dirty and had dog hair all over the home. The mattress in the master bedroom was heavily stained and the dust and hair on the visible edge of the box spring was disgusting. After contacting the host about the lack of cleanliness we were relocated to a smaller less accommodating home. That home also lacked attention to cleanliness detail as well. The furniture of the Castaway Key in the living area was also heavily stained and nails sticking up on the balcony. The pantry door propped up with a piece of wood. The dining table has peeling paint and was sticky . Groceries left by previous occupants wer”airbnb

“The entire house needs a thorough cleaning inside and out. Especially the windows. The pool was in my top 2 reasons why we chose this house. The pool pump was not working when we arrived. I messaged as soon we noticed it. We arrived Sunday and it did not get fixed until Tuesday. We checked out Wednesday. Therefore we did not get to enjoy the pool. The weather was so hot and humid so it was very disappointing not being able to enjoy the pool.”airbnb

“We paid $1,110 for one night and specifically booked this Airbnb for the pool. Before booking, I even told the host that the pool was the main reason we chose this property. When we arrived around 4 PM, the pool was dirty and looked nothing like the photos. I messaged the host at 4:25 PM, and they said they’d reach out to the pool company but I never received an update. I followed up twice and was left on read. I spent an hour trying to clean it myself, but there was only a small net with no attachments to remove the debris from the bottom. The pool also had large black spots where the surface appeared cracked and poorly maintained. Inside, the oven was dirty, one pillow was stained, and the downstairs bedroom smelled like mold. We didn’t mind paying over 1000$ bc we thought the pool would be worth it but For over $1,100 a night, this was very disappointing and not worth the price.”airbnb

“The property was in very poor condition. Our children are afraid to go outside because there were many cobwebs, insects, and wasps around the house, which made the area feel unsafe. The pool was unusable because it had not been cleaned. Natalie informed us that a cleaner would be sent, but no one arrived. The arcade games, basketball equipment, and other play areas were broken. Some stair steps were also damage and appeared unsafe. Overall, the experience was very frustrating and not worth the money.”airbnb

“To easily summarize: FILTHY. I've tolerated some mildly dirty AirBnb stays over the years, but this one takes the cake after the cockroaches have climbed all over it. This place didn't even clean on a basic level. The floors were already dirty when we walked in, the fridge smelled fishy, the dishwasher smelled like sewage, one of the showers already had a hairball on the drain. The bathtub wasn't draining, which would have been caught on a standard cleaning routine. Cockroaches came out at night, and there was a termite infestation that made the front room completely unusable. The few positives about the actual place is overridden by the absolute filth and worsened by the fact that we paid thousands to stay there. We left our extended stay early because the conditions were so intolerable. I rarely leave bad reviews because experiences can be different, but I can't see anyone accepting this. I hope this public review stays up for others to see and keep the owner accountable.”airbnb

“Unfortunately, we had a disappointing experience at this Airbnb. We booked it for a team retreat and were simply looking for a quiet place to relax. Communication was slower than expected. We were asked twice if we wanted to extend our stay, even after declining the first time, which felt uncomfortable. We were also told that check-in information would be sent one hour before check-in at 4 PM. However, when I followed up at 3:05 PM, I was told it would be sent between 3:00 and 3:30 PM, which was inconsistent with the original communication. When we arrived, the house appeared much older and smaller than expected. There was trash around the downstairs area, and the home had an unpleasant odor. The biggest issue was that the TV remote did not work, leaving us without one of the few entertainment options available. There were no games or other activities provided.Overall, the property did not provide the relaxing experience we were hoping for, and we left disappointed.”airbnb

“We have requested a refund due to the state of the rental, it was filthy. Food under couch and under cushions, kitchen utensils not washed, outlets in kitchen never worked. Drinks stains and food on walls, dust covered surfaces and fans. Master bath gross and one sink filled do to AC issue and overflow which made it unusable and did not drain.”airbnb

“The house was a complete mess the host stop messaging me when I came into an unclean and disgusting house. The pictures did not add up to it AT ALL. The floors were peeling up and had nails in the ground to hold it down… (they were also rusted) I also noticed that the house had such an AWFUL smell (like mold). I didn’t even get to stay at the house and they won’t refund me for it. The house overall is not safe for little kids, pets, and even adults. I would not recommend staying here.”airbnb
