Manager Review

30A Escapes

30A Escapes's guest rating of 4.78 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

The house was beautiful, modern, spacious, and clean. The host did extend our check out time by an hour, so we didn’t feel as rushed and were able to get breakfast in the morning. However, the host did not do a good job of communicating and letting us know in advance that we need wristbands, where to get them, etc. It was a headache to figure this out on our own because the actual address was never shared. Also, when we asked for recommendations (e.g., beaches), they were very vague. Generally, we had to continue asking more and more follow-up questions to finally get to some answer.

It was nice it was so close to beach and shops! We tried to get an early check in but we did not receive the code until right before 4 despite calling several times.

We’ve stayed in airbnbs for most of our travels and all have been great experiences. I want to be clear about our stay here, the house was lovely and the location was perfect. That wasn’t the issue. The issue was the management company 30a escapes did no favors for this home owner. It seems that the management company was trying to save as much money as they could and didn’t provide anything that would have been expected for our stay. Only 2 rolls of tp per bathroom, laundry detergent for 3 loads, 2 trash bags in the kitchen etc. so we were tasked with buying, in addition to paying thousands of dollars for our stay, all of the things listed above just to have the things needed during our stay. They provided no beach towels, no chairs, umbrella, BEACH TOWELS so we were left to purchase hundreds of dollars of these things. And to top it off the ac didn’t work and there was nothing they could do about it after two trips of trying to fix it. This stay just wasn’t worth the money.

Overall, we had a good stay. The home was clean upon arrival, and we appreciated that. However, there were a few things future guests should know. The pictures make the home appear much more spacious than it actually feels in person, especially for a larger group. We also felt that the hosts were very conservative with the supplies provided. For a group of nine staying a full week, only two garbage bags were supplied, which wasn't nearly enough. Soap and towels also felt limited, and there were no beach towels or Pack 'n Play available. One of our biggest concerns was the front door lock. The handle and lock were low enough that even our two-year-olds could easily reach, unlock, and open the door. For families with young children, this felt like a significant safety issue. Overall, the home was clean and served its purpose, but with more accurate photos, better stocking of basic necessities, and a safer door lock setup, the experience would have been much better.

This property is beautiful and everything is at your fingertips, making it extremely convenient and enjoyable for a family vacation. The pool is well maintained and having the beach and chairs set up for you every day makes the trip so much more enjoyable. Less than desirable things to note were that a drawer of prescription meds (pain killers) plus a whole 2 week pill box with multiple prescription meds were left in a bathroom drawer, as well as cannabis gummies. We had both younger kids and teens with us and not knowing these were in there until days into the trip was very concerning for us. The team seemed nonchalant about this when I reached out and just said they would “let their cleaning management know”. It seemed like a pretty big deal to me.

When we arrived we didn’t know where to get the wristbands and we asked people around the neighborhood where to get them and they would tell us that theirs were already at the Airbnb when they arrived, in one of the bathrooms there was still left behind used toilet paper in the trash can, we didn’t have any WiFi in the house the whole time we stayed and they said they were going to send someone and they never did. Our experience was horrible in the house but the surroundings were beautiful.

My review is mainly for the property management company. Upon check in, you are sent notice that you only get 2 extra trash bags and 2 dishwasher pods… clearly this is a large home that’s accommodating groups. Very cheap of them to not even provide enough trash bags for a stay. They also clear everything out of the kitchen so it’s not stocked at all. You get 2 tiny ketchup packets of olive oil and tiny salt and pepper. The joys of Airbnb is a house that feels like a home and having basic kitchen seasonings and oils is what most properties keep. Check out- At 8am the property manager arrived to the house to paint exterior of home. He asked if they could get started earlier. Said it would just be paint rolling the house. A crew of 8 guys showed up sanding the exterior and ladders surround the entire property. They moved the bikes to prep the paint. They accused us of taking 3 bikes and are threatening to charge $300 per bike, when all bikes were locked when we left. terrible experience.

Took a chance on this listing without it having any reviews. We were sent the wrong door code by 30a escapes. Instead of being able to enter at 4pm we were unable to get in until 5:30pm when they could figure out the correct code. After we waited outside for 1 hour 30 mins with a 10 month old, 2 year old and 4 other kids we finally got into the house. The temperature was 76 degrees inside and did not come back down until the middle of the night, just imagine how fun that was! My instacart grocery order was delivered at 4pm -my milk, popsicles, sandwich meat etc. were all hot/melted by the time we got in considering they set outside in 90+ temps for an hour and a half. I asked if they would accommodate for the ruined groceries but nothing was done - not even a sorry! There’s no way the floors have been mopped recently the bottoms of our feet were completely black from walking around other than that everything was good. This is my 4th time staying in Prominence, the area is great!

The apartment and view of beach was beautiful and perfect for our group of 6! However, I would not recommend staying at High Pointe or booking with 30a escapes. All messages are sent by a bot and it is impossible to speak with a real person. They will bombard you with automated messages throughout your trip. The security guards were very unkind and difficult to deal with entering and exiting the complex. Really great apartment, but in retrospect, I wish I had booked with a locally owned, personal host so the overall experience could have been better.

Beautiful house, and great linens. However only 2 trash bags were left for the entire house for 6 days and they were NOT flexible on check in or check out.
