Manager Review

Upstay

Upstay's guest rating of 4.73 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

My family traveled from North Carolina and from New York and the house was nice but not that clean we paid for amenities that wasn’t prepared for uses. The pool needs to be worked on I work around pools so I notice it’s not getting the service it needs the hot tub cuts on and off also the light in the pool come on and off whenever it wants too.. the screen around the pool is torn and needs repair something can definitely crawl in the back area and be in the pool and you wouldn’t know it. The back door doesn’t lock and the TVs are old and slow and needs to be replaced. overall it work out for my family but there were many things that need to be fixed in this house for the price of it. The water pressure upstairs and water heat upstairs is also not working as well as the downstairs bathrooms. So you might want to think about all of this before booking unless you just need a house.

The location was good, but the service was horrible. The host was very responsive, but did not provide what is expected of an airbnb that cost more than $1,200 dollars.

The area is great. The reason for the poor rating is because the air condition units do not heat the Airbnb & the way the host handled it was poor. There are a few units placed throughout the Airbnb but unfortunately they do not provide ventilation to cool down a living space. There was no difference between the temperature outside versus inside. It was at least 83 degrees in the Airbnb with each a/c unit running full blast. Beware if you book during a summer. None of the guests could sleep as we were sweating the whole time. We spent $100+ on fans at a Walmart just to get decent sleep. I spent hours working with Airbnb support. The host did nothing besides offer a “technician” to arrive the next morning to check it out. The technician arrived at 9am, walked in with a thermometer, did nothing with the A/C units, then left. We were ready to leave and find another Airbnb the next day and get rest. Only got a partial refund for the stay. Very poor experience.

Place needs maintenance, big gaps at the threshold of the door where insects and small animals can enter. The shower faucet was barely hanging onto the wall, the soap shampoo dispenser was very dirty and looked like it had been the same shampoo and soap there for 20 years. No real common area for family and friend to hangout.

Please reconsider your stay! We encountered several issues, including at least nine roaches in the kitchen and bathroom downstairs. When we arrived, everything seemed clean initially. However, there was an unpleasant odor coming from the kitchen, and some of the comforters had stains. Additionally, the runner on the dining room table was marked as well. To feel more at ease, we decided to buy cleaning supplies. As we began wiping down the cabinets and dining room table, it became clear just how much dirt had accumulated on them. The pool was in poor condition, with murky water. I contacted the host about the pool, and they initially informed me that maintenance wouldn’t be able to come until after our departure, which was a key factor in choosing this location. Despite the clear state of the pool, the host assured us it was safe to swim. I compared it to the neighboring pool, which was well-maintained and just a right next door. After inquiring if any further action could be taken….

Nice place, only bad thing is they charged me for a broken pool cleaner that we never once used. I didn’t even see a pool cleaner by the pool

We paid for early check-in, but when we arrived the cleaners were still there and were surprised to see us. We were then told the house would not actually be ready until 4 PM. After some back-and-forth, we stayed while the cleaners finished, and the host did refund the early check-in fee, but it was still a frustrating start and showed poor communication and coordination. There is also a train directly across the street that runs throughout the night and at times literally shook the house, so light sleepers should be aware. Our biggest concern was the hot tub. Six people in our group developed rashes consistent with hot tub folliculitis after using it. We reported it to both the host and Airbnb support with photos, but were only advised to seek medical attention and submit a liability claim if needed. No refund or partial refund was offered. And most importantly no confirmation if the hot tub was even inspected so further guest would not get the infection.

We could not even stay here. This place is an absolute nightmare, the door doesn't lock properly, people are banging on the doors making it feel unsafe on the property, the condo reeks of marijuana, lights flicker, and I feel as if I do not need to continue. I brought my family here, and after checking in we were in immediate distraught. Cheapest hotel we could find was $500 for us due to us getting here so late. I thought this would be a fun and nice weekend for my family to go to universal and I was brought onto this monstrosity. Absolutely ridiculous that you guys are allowed to let people stay here. One would think, somewhere in the property reviews it would speak on that. Maybe for someone that has low standards is this place okay, but for anyone that has stayed in a somewhat decent place would feel the same. DO NOT STAY HERE. This is a money scam for horrible lodging.

I will never stay at another property hosted by Upstay. BEWARE. Their advertising is deceitful and they removed key details from the listing after we booked. Shady shady shady.
