“Cute place near the beach. Beds were terrible. Lack of communication- I asked for an hour later check out the prior day and got told they could accommodate me 45 mins prior to checking out. We were already packed up at that point.”

“Lake Michigan is gorgeous as always and our family had a wonderful time playing on the beach. Note it is a solid 80+ stairs one way. It accommodated 7 adults & 2 little kids. It felt like little details were missed. Coffee could have been provided from a local spot or even bought at Costco. Extra paper towels could have been available vs us bringing our own.”

“The good- short drive to beach, house pretty clean, inside pics accurate. Upstairs play area for kids with slide and bunk area very unique and cool. Not so good- outside pic deceiving, looks naturish but reality you share a parking lot with biggby coffee and 200 ft from a busy highway. Very loud in morning if you have young kids with traffic. For place that can hold 10 people there is no eating table, only bar seats at island. Kitchen amenities lacking- two small very very used plans is all they have to cook most things. Not ideal at all for larger groups. Check process confusing to say least. Stayed in many air bnb and never had to go to third party website for instructions. Took 10 minutes to find. On top of that to get into building you needed your phone with a link to get to third party site to open. Overall, place was fine but price for what was. Could tell ran by big company instead of small group that cares. Would try to stay elsewhere next time if possible”

“We stayed July 16-19. An EGLE Hazardous (AQI Maroon) air quality alert ran Thursday through Saturday, making the outdoor activities and beach access the listing advertised unsafe to use for our entire stay. We checked out early on Friday, forfeiting 2 nights. We asked the host for a partial refund or credit toward a future stay, which felt reasonable given the circumstances. The host declined entirely, saying they shouldn’t bear the cost, leaving us to pay the full $2,247 for a trip where the main draw wasn’t usable. Separately, the listing’s “half bathroom” was actually a toilet in the basement with no door. The rest of the property was clean, but between that and the refund denial, future guests should have the full picture.”

“This home’s location was great for a beach getaway. Easy to walk to the state park and pier. However, this home is older and could use some attention, especially to what’s provided for the convenience of its renters. The number of stairs were a killer - it’s what you get for the view, but renters beware. The positives: *Location & view *Comfy beds *Beach towels provided The negatives: *Kitchen poorly stocked. 1 pot & limited pans. No oven mitts or casserole dishes. *2 beds made without top sheets - some were dropped off upon request, but no extra linens available. *Some windows without screens. *No central air - only 3 window units and only 2 box fans provided. *Only 1.5 burners on grill were in working order. *No blinds on main windows to block out afternoon sun. *Animal poop in one kitchen cupboard. *Ants in kitchen. *Nails sticking up from wood floor - one person in our party cut her foot. 🤨 We enjoyed our stay but would choose elsewhere next time.”

“Great location and enjoyed the woodwork in the house. Huge plus to be able to walk everywhere. The negatives: The listing shows pics of a fire pit an outdoor area that we were notified was off limits only after we booked the property. There is a door in the kitchen that does not lock that leads to an external door to the off limits patio that was unlocked and we had no idea who had access to it because it’s a shared unit split house. The front door lock is backwards as is the shower knob - there’s no anti scald so for children it’s a concern because the temp gauge is backwards. The water is hard which isn’t great and there’s a strange ring around the tub drain. The bed is VERY hard and the linens and towels are pretty low grade given the nightly price of the house. I wouldn’t stay there again but appreciated the amazing location for just two nights.”

“Property manager wants to charge us $250.00 for a laminated parking pass that was accidentally lost in the garbage. Property manager asked us to ‘kindly’ dig it out from the garbage can, in which there are at least twenty, and then to take a picture of the pass upon retrieval. We explained that it was an accident and had already left the Airbnb, expecting the fee to be small for just a minor inconvenience. Property manager insisted the their egregious price gouging will be enforced if we didn’t turn around and dumpster dive in the parking lot. Haven’t heard back from anyone in two weeks about it. It was cute, a little smelly, and completely void of the hospitality component. Make Airbnbs owned by real people again.”

“cute place to stay with friends, unfortunately the grill did not work. The place was clean, but was turned of by the message half way through hour trip about a possible $500 fee if they determined the place need an extra cleaning once we left, we always keep the places we stay at as clean as possible and treat like our own home. also was a warning that if we were still on the property anytime after our check out that there was another $500 fine. we've always been good at leaving before our check out times. this made use a little disappointed in the place. overall cute and nice place to stay.”

“The location of this property is excellent, which is the main reason for the rating. However, beyond that, the experience fell short of expectations. The building and interior feel quite dated, with noticeable creaking throughout, and the space lacked a warm, homey feel. It felt more like a managed, transactional stay than a true Airbnb. Basic amenities were also missing (ex. sponges, paper towels), which made the stay less comfortable. Communication around check-in and especially check-out (10 AM) came across as very rigid and unaccommodating. Additionally, after booking, we were required to sign an external agreement outside of Airbnb, which was a first for me after 11 years on airbnb and felt unusual. There were also many rules sent after confirming the reservation, which felt excessive. Overall, while the location is a strong plus, the experience from start to finish didn’t feel as welcoming or flexible as expected.”

“Felt like the pictures were better than what we got. The views were spectacular, the beach access was awesome, plenty of towels and we appreciated that. But quite a few problems with the property, especially at this price point. We had a clogged sink that did not get tended to until the next day, the drain was clogged with contents of cleaning up after a diaper change so you can imagine ... The trash bins are a 1/4 mile away and did not have enough room for our bags so trash piled up in the foyer. They provide 1 paper towel roll, and no kitchen sponge, towels, or oven mitt. The basement bathroom did not have a waste basket or any additional toilet paper. Other properties I have stayed at at this price point usually have a few extras - a Bluetooth stereo, condiments, coffee filters, none of that here. We found most of the furniture to be pretty worn out and uncomfortable. The sliding doors are heavy and not stable in their grooves. Beautiful views but would not stay again.”
