“The beach access does not get any better! We enjoyed our stay and would consider coming back. The beach is large, flat, private, and is accessible right out of the kitchen door. There is a whole shed full of beach toys, chairs, games and has four kayaks available for use. The house is large and has a funky layout with three segmented units each with its own kitchen and living room. The main-floor kitchen/living room can get cramped/busy with only one single door leading out back from the already congested kitchen. The kitchen and house are well supplied with the basics and everything worked. The biggest disappointment was the number and quality of the beds/bedding. None of the beds or pillows were comfortable and the attic kids room smelled so that none of the kids would even sleep in it. Even the fold out couches were uncomfortable for sleeping. Also, all of the trash cans were full when we arrived and had nowhere to put our trash.”

“Our stay was amazing! We were looking for a cottage to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary with our kids and grandkids. There were 13 of us and there was tons of room and spaces/amenities that supported each family! The location right on Lake Michigan couldn’t be better right down to the amazing “beach toys’ including four kayaks, grill and fire pit!!! We used them all! The creek that ran alongside the cottage and out to the lake provide HOURS of entertainment for our gang with building dams, rerouting the flow, to just hanging out. The location couldn’t be better…close to downtown Manistee and explorations to the surrounding area! If we had to say anything that could possibly improve on “perfect,” it would be to perhaps have brighter lighting in the rooms… To sum it up? Thank you for making our 50th so memorable for us with our family!”

“We really enjoyed our stay. The 3 separate floors with bedrooms and kitchens on each level worked out perfect for our multi-family vacation! The beach was also great.”

“The lake house was very roomy for our family of 12 and located on a beautiful section of Lake Michigan! Good walking on the beach, soft sand for sunning , sitting or digging . The lake was perfect for all ages to walk in to a comfort level before dunking under water. Trash Issues- Several of the trash containers were overflowing and litter was around the cans on the ground. We had to use a rake to gather some of the trash which was difficult. Trash pick up was 4 days after we arrived and was a visual mess from the road even though everything was contained inside the wire box. House maintenance- 2nd floor main bathroom- sink would not drain properly and the bathtub stopper didn’t work. The lightening in main living space and several bedrooms was poor- need more lamps for reading.”

“Rented the entire house for one week. Interior was fine but exterior wasn't properly cleaned. Hail storm prior to our arrival left screens damaged and shingles of house to be repaired. The exterior needed cleaning: weeds around air conditioner, lumber on side of house, cobwebs on exterior, etc. The boat house needed major cleaning and removal of items left by previous renters. The trash collection was a major problem. No recycling made more trash for the 14 people in the house. Opossums created a real mess in trash enclosure. Chicken wire needed. On a positive note the location is great, Lake Michigan was beautiful, the town of Manistee was lovely, the 3-story house worked well for us, and our group had lots of fun. I hope that the hail damage is corrected and the exterior cleaned-up and the trash situation remedied.”
