“The location is spot on. Parking was very good with no issues. The owner could do a little TLC, the master shower needs deep cleaning and mold prevention. The carpet needs to be replaced with tile, easier to clean and doesn't hold stinky animal urine smells. They were very strong, especially towards the kitchen and entry. The stains in the master bedroom need to be addressed too. Other than those things, we enjoyed our stay.”

“Fantastic location on the beach with a great, flat trail for beach access. Great views. Had difficulty entering the house with a faulty lock, found dirty bed linens and when they brought replacements we had to change them out ourselves, and washing machine was broken. Some dog hair on furniture (they charge an extra cleaning fee if you bring dogs, so I would have expected extra cleaning for this). Hot tub was good, ping pong table was fun. Overall we had a good stay.”

“The home is very spacious and was a great setup to hang out and watch the kids play. Nice dining table and plenty of dishes for family dinners. Plenty of towels. Comfy beds and plenty of room for toddlers and baby to sleep undisturbed. Beach was great and nice to have a sandy spot right at the bottom of the stairs. We enjoyed the hot tub. Now some negatives. Our check-in was late and we were notified 25 minutes before check-in, which was annoying because we were on our way after a large grocery shop. Some of the pans didn’t work on the stove, salt and oil spray provided - no pepper! No coffee. No coffee pods. 20 non dairy creamers that we never used. The washer left oil marks on our clothes and the dryer snagged the heck out our clothes. Said they would ‘pass that on to the team” not sure what that means but I would not wash clothes here. We had a lovely vacation but for the price I expected more.”

“The house is on a gravel road. Driving a new car that was just washed…. Driveway is an awkward shape that made it hard to back out of. When I walked into the house the smell of urine was unbelievably strong! It was coming from the main bathroom which even with the door closed you could smell at the dinning room table. The cabinet under sink was missing a bolt. The decor and house its self was roomy and nice.”

“​You are truly paying for the view here—it’s exceptional. However, the customer service is entirely automated, rigid, and completely lacking a personal touch. My husband (who is recovering from a stroke) and my daughter (who manages a chronic autoimmune condition) were forced to wait in the car for an hour. Despite the home being completely empty and ready, no one was willing to grant an early check-in or intervene beyond sending automated text messages. ​Inside, the furniture is a bit mismatched, but overall it’s a nice enough stay. If you only care about a great view and don't require any human support, you’ll be fine. Just don't expect any empathy or flexibility from management.”

“The good: Great location above a cute little cafe and across the street from the ocean. Balcony with a great view. We even saw a couple grey whales from the unit! Very walkable to cute seaside shops and restaurants. Parking was easy. The unit was well appointed and had what we needed: a full sized fridge, microwave, stove, plenty of towels and a washer and dryer. The not so good: We were a bit confused about the location. We were expecting a stand alone house or duplex. The unit is, in fact, above commercial space, so be aware. What brings the stay down to 3 stars from 5 is that I found a pair of used panties (including hairs) from a previous guest. I snapped a photo and messaged the management team, and instead of apologizing or asking what they could do to rectify the situation, they asked me to bag the item if I felt comfortable doing so. While I don’t fault the cleaning crew for missing something inside a drawer, the experience left a gross film over my experience.”

“Demanded a bunch of personal information and threatened to cancel last minute if we refused to give it to them. I didn't want to try and find another place on short notice, so I gave in to their demands. They then left us hanging with no entry code for the place. They didn't respond to us or to airbnb support. The next day they haughtily informed us that they had texted us the code, which turned out to be half true; they texted us a link to their website, and if you clicked that and somehow knew to scroll down and find and click on another the precise right second link, and then figured out to click on a lock shaped icon on that page, a code popped up. Good luck figuring all that out if you have the misfortune to book this place.”

“Sweet Homes never provided me the access to the house. I followed all the rules and provided my license plate number. I was in contact with them all day. I even spoke with the cleaning crew as they left at 5pm. However, Sweet Home NEVER gave me the access code to enter the property. I spent 90+ minutes at the door calling and texting and messaging trying to get the code to the keypad. Sweet Homes didn’t care. They took my money and laughed at me. What they did to me is not only a case for the BBB but is also criminal.”

“It is on the beach, as advertised. With beautiful sweeping views. The house is roomy. The decor is quite dated and starting to look run-down - cabinets don't close, utensils in the kitchen are inadequate, dents in the walls, and doors that don't shut properly. When we arrived, the microwave door was broken. It was cracked and quite dangerous. The game room was disappointing. It had poor lighting, and the games were old and worn down. We asked the management company if there were beach chairs. They firmly responded that none of the properties came with beach chairs unless the owner chose to leave some there. We purchased chairs at the last minute. Turns out they did have beach chairs. Why didn't the management company know this? I found my communication with the owner to be gracious and helpful. My experience with the management company was cold and impersonal. If you choose to rent this house, make every effort to continue working with the owner rather than the management company.”

“Poor communication, I was never sent a door entry code. I sent a message to the host and called after hours emergency phone to get adoor code. I NEVER received a response on day of arrival. Late check in time 5 PM so unable to communicate prior to close of business day, poor set up and very risky. The next morning after business opened STILL NO RESPONSE until I made contact with them. I gave them my time of phone call and they can clearly see my messages in the text line and I was told they would investigate. I never heard back. I was only able to get into the property because it was a 4 plex and we had to ask the neighbors how to get a code, thank goodness it was a generic code that we could figure out on our own. This behavior from a host is unacceptable and I will never rent from a Sweet Homes property again. FYI, I have never had to leave such poor review for anything. What if the other units weren't rented out or if it was a unique code? Things really could have turned out bad”
