“Loved my stay at Shawnee Apple Shack. The place was spotless, comfortable very tastefully decorated and provided me with everything I needed for my three nights stay. Allison was very helpful and proactive and her online guidebook was just full of great suggestions for activities, restaurants and more. The location was very private and secluded yet very close to an area road. The hot tub was definitely an added bonus. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again if in the area.”

“My wife and I visited southern IL to get away and do some hiking and visit wineries. We loved that the property was in the middle of everywhere we were planning on visiting while also being secluded to where we could enjoy nature and privacy. The property was as advertised and Allison was very responsive. We appreciated the local guide that she provided with her recommendations and highlighting why she recommends each location. We would definitely stay at one of Allison’s properties again.”

“It was cute and small, perfect for my sister and I to stay overnight. The sun shone through the dome pretty early, and the curtain doesn't block much of the light so it was hard to sleep past 6. The hot tub was great after a long day of driving. Everything was clean. Allison was friendly and helpful with my questions”

“Songbird Lane Cabin was perfectly peaceful, and the birds calling out was a joy. The ability to sit on front and back decks and just be together, read, or be silent was welcomed. We traveled daily to our chosen wineries, state parks, Bald Knob Cross, and surrounding towns. Cabin seemed to be a perfect location for our needs. Other house stars: large master shower, stocked kitchen and bathrooms, and all downstairs area(even though we did not need). Allison was super start to finish. This was our first trip to this part of IL wine country. A return trip would be planned when Songbird Lane is available.”

“We absolutely loved our stay. The apartment is beautifully decorated and has everything one would need! The bed was so comfy too! The host was very responsive, polite and easy to communicate with. There is a wonderful brunch place and a nice restaurant that are both located next door to the apartment too. I give this place a 10 out of 10 & recommend it to anyone planning to stay in the area!”

“We had a lovely stay during our visit with the exception of the reason behind our stay. We came for a funeral and to be support for our family. The Rendleman have been a great support. They remembered my parents from when they used to work for them. They brought joy to the family. Thanks to Wayne for letting us do a ride through the trails and get to know the fields where our parents and family worked. The Rendleman brought some light in a dark moment that was due to a tragic loss. We enjoyed being able to observe the scenery, the flower fields and hear the back story of the farm. The cottage was cozy and felt like home. Everything we needed was provided making us realized we overpacked. We definitely hope to visit again. Don’t forget to stop by the Farm Market they have nice souvenir items, smoothies and donuts and much more. The smoothies and donuts are a must have. The staff is friendly and makes everyone feel welcome. Thank you to the Rendleman family we appreciate you all.”

“This cabin is lovely. It’s in a peaceful, wooded setting, surrounded by nature. We saw a ton of wildlife! The cabin was just as pictured ~ clean & comfortable. We were in the area to visit our student at SIU, and the drive back to Carbondale was quick, with easy access to lots of restaurants and shopping. Communication with Allison was clear, and check-in/check-out was a breeze. (No long list of to-do’s before you leave.) Highly recommend this terrific place!”
