Son's Rio Cibolo
4.75Visit website
Son's Rio Cibolo's guest rating of 4.75 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“The cabin and location was good , the issue was as soon as we got there the 1st cabin wasn’t working , a staff member came to pry it open , then we got locked inside of it , he said it wasn’t the 1st time this happens , then we got moved after requesting it.. the next cabin had a leak on the shower ! Water everywhere, moved again , 3rd cabin was in the middle of being remodeled , had no toilet , or bathroom door and no floor. Then final cabin was okay but this whole process took over an hour. We weren’t offered anythjng of consideration other than continued moving us. Not the best experience”airbnb

“Great place and beautiful location! Definitely a luxury camping experience. Only things: - grill was very dirty - 75$ fees for unclean dishes but no sponge or dish soap provided (can be bought at the camp store for about 10x more expensive than any local store) - charcoal listed on the provided amenities but actually sold way too expensive at the camp store. If we knew it wasn't provided as listed we would have bought some at Walmart for more than half of the camp store price... Not a big deal but it just doesn't feel fair. Besides that place was pretty clean and the spot is really beautiful”airbnb

“This place is falsely advertised!!! Nothing like the photos Sons Rio Cibolo is a muddy mosquito infested creek that had numerous debris from previous floods along backside they filled in the muddy beach in with white rock. The cabin we stayed in had a military style tent cover that the entire backside was molded the pots and pans drawer was covered in black/brown grease stains. The pool was hotter than a sauna, poolside chair broke less than five mins of sitting down and jerked my neck backwards so hard that i am still in pain. The game room had broken pool stick tips no chalk was available for pool sticks missing air hockey and disc soccer game balls. I wanted an immediate refund, but no manager was available. 48 hrs. later still no response from management. i stayed one night because my family was exhausted. this will go down as the worst vacation ever. i have more to say but i am only allowed so many characters. i now have a continuous cough.”airbnb

“This is our second time visiting, this time was a bit different we arrived and noticed our cabin was the only cabin with a window AC unit. As we walked in we noticed floor was dirty. We did mentioned inconvenience about the window unit unfortunately they could not provide us with a different cabin as they were fully booked. I believe that could have been notified via message upon our arrival. It kept room cool at times but nighttime was very uncomfortable due to the window unit being placed right in front of one of the beds which caused air to hit us directly in the face. Also our cabin did not have a warm plate to cook, I had to call office for them to provide us one. Tv remote batteries did not work, my husband ended up switching batteries from the original AC control for it to work. Kids enjoyed the creek and amenities. But I do suggest staff to supervise and assure that every detail is in working condition for guests.”airbnb

“Check-in was awful they could not find our reservation finally said we where on wrong side went there still couldn’t find our reservation we had a door code it would work shower was cold never got warm and on top of all that they gave us a number to call to make sure they didn’t double book our place seems like something they should have done not us”airbnb

“Communication from host was great until we arrived. We saw scorpions in our tent and decided not to stay with our children when we didn’t get a response. The place was super cute though. The tall thin guy (from Vegas) working in the store was so sweet and so helpful.”airbnb

“We originally booked a bell tent and cabana for 2 days, at Son's Guadalupe. A week ahead of our stay we were told that we had to move to a different location, so they moved us to Son's Blue River. Day 2 of our stay we found out we did not have a cabana, even though we had paid for one. We were told they didn't come with the stay at Son's Blue River but we could pay even more for one that day. They did not tell us about this bait and switch when we gave them the okay to move us to this location. This led to things going missing overnight since we thought the cabana was ours all weekend and we had to go to Don's Fish Camp on day 2. Luckily, we were able to track down our items. Eventually a $99 refund was given. The other issue we had was the bell tent itself. The zipper to get in and out was broken, water in tent entrance at check in, and it was moldy. We were told it was just dirt but we don't believe that. Bathrooms also needed to be cleaned more often. They were gross.”airbnb

“As I will say everything was great as far as cabin bathrooms were incredibly clean, the only thing that made us check out a day earlier was the fact that we were floating for 4 hours on the river. It was our 1st time to ever float so we didn’t really know what to expect. I really wish they had offered some more advice such as giving a paddle and saying there is huge snakes with in 2feet of your float and that if you get stuck you’re stranded and no one will help you. No one will check on you. As a mother I’m very happy we didn’t bring our son with us just because not knowing that it really is not the safest option floating down the river with no one to even check or notice how long you have been gone is kinda scary. There is as well huge branches in the middle of paths and my tube flipped off the branch I got hurt.”airbnb

“It's not as shown in the photos! Dirty cabin, with dust, stained sheets and blankets. There are no hammocks in front of your cabin or electric grill as shown in the photos!! My husband took off his shoes for a moment and his feet turned black from the dust on the floor!! We asked for another cabin and the manager said there was no other available!!! We had to spend the night there and without sleeping because in the next cabin they had a party all night with loud music and people screaming until 6am even when the rules say that you can't make noise between 11pm and 8am so as not to disturb others! What a bad experience, this place is so disappointing!!! My husband and I had booked this place two months in advance for our honeymoon.... On the second day the manager relocated us to the cibolo location which is completely different!!! we lost half of our trip in Son's Geronimo!!! Don't come to this place!!!! Go to the location of Son's Rio Cibolo!! I would like a refund.”airbnb

“It took us about 20 minutes to get into a tent because they sent us the incorrect information which was fine accidents happen but upon getting into the tent there was a pile of flower seeds under the bed and in the bed. They also offered to bring us new sheets but they never arrived. I’m hoping they were just having an off day.”airbnb
