In an era of personal chaos with selling our house and relocating, we took a couple days away from home to relax and unwind. Our kids LOVED the creek and all the unlimited fun it had to offer. Mom enjoyed the hammocks and the sounds of nature. Dad enjoyed grilling and sitting by the fire pit each night. Everyone had a great time and the kids have already talked about going back.

We stayed here as a unique place to spend the night while exploring the surrounding area, and overall we did have a fun experience. The kids especially enjoyed seeing the longhorns and buffalo, which ended up being one of the highlights of the trip. That said, there were several things that future guests should know. First, I wouldn’t describe this property as waterfront. It overlooks a pasture rather than the water, so the listing gave us different expectations. When we arrived, the tent was extremely hot and it took nearly a full day for it to cool down enough to be comfortable. We also discovered when stripping the beds before leaving that the bedding underneath the sheets appeared dirty, which was disappointing. The tents are also much closer together than we expected. Because of that, noise carries easily. Quiet hours don’t begin until 11:00 p.m., which feels a bit late for this type of accommodation. During our stay, a neighboring group played loud Tejano music until 11:00 p.m
