“Found mold in fridge upon entry, along with a water leak and trash from the previous guest on floor. Recently renovated, but they clearly cut corners. Disappointing and unfriendly service.”

“This place is not for me. I won't stay here again. Place is very outdated. Baseboards were dusty/dirty, bathtub floor was black, menstrual blood in the master bathroom floor, dead mouse in mouse trap next to refrigerator, mold, brown recluse spiders and water in the laundry room. The banister is not secure, my aunt almost feel when she tried to regain stability.”

“Mismanaged nightmare fuel — avoid. We had 3 small children with us and this unit is completely unsafe for kids: multiple scorpions on the carpet and exposed rusted tack-strip nails at the slider. Sewage smell when water ran. Every bed had previous guests’ hair and eyelashes; sheets stained and smelling of body odor — we slept on linens we brought. Kitchen sink leaked into a bucket. Food on the floor, dirty sofa, sauce streaks down the stove, dead insects, cobwebs, nothing vacuumed. Check-in took over an hour, and the only reason we stayed the night is we had been on the road 7 hours and arrived just before dark. WiFi password was wrong, and after paying through Airbnb we were forced through an undisclosed third-party app demanding ID, a selfie, and a signed lease. Unit looks like it hasn’t been updated since the 90s. Booked two nights. Barely slept, left as soon as we could in the morning.”

“DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE. We left within 30 minutes because the condition was absolutely disgusting. There was hair EVERYWHERE—floors, carpets, chairs, and inside the sheets on BOTH beds, which made us seriously question whether the bedding had even been changed. There was what appeared to be mold in the vents and, unbelievably, actual FECES smeared in the carpet. I wish I were exaggerating. The host was responsive when our check-in code didn’t work, but once we reported the condition of the property, they became uncooperative. Someone came to “change the sheets” on ONE bed, as if that solved the hair covering the entire place or the feces in the carpet. We had to involve Airbnb before they finally refunded us. We didn’t stay a single night. We immediately left and went somewhere else entirely. I cannot understand how this property was considered ready for paying guests. Save yourself the headache and BOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE.”

“First things first, they didn’t give us the home we rented. We wanted to access the water and picked our home with that in mind. They changed our home on us without consulting with us. When I called them (it’s a company not a person) they were annoyed and offered to move us to a cabin closer to the water the next day. Which meant I had to waist two hours packing up one cabin and moving our stuff to the next. And you guessed it… it still wasn’t the cabin they said we were being moved to. It was covered in cobwebs, had a musty smell, the window looking over the lake has failed and there is fog and moisture between the panes of glass which limits the view. The sink in the basement bathroom didn’t work and the wood on the deck is so old you can’t be barefoot in fear of getting a massive splinter. The pool has the only bbq where we planned to cook one of our dinners. There was a full dirty diaper on the ground by the bbq and it was so gross and they had no one to clean the area. And more…”

“Upon booking, the host demanded personal info for all guests, including our 3 minor daughters: full names, birthdays, home address, and phone. We were uncomfortable providing that information about minors and ultimately agreed on sending just names. Check-in was at 4PM, we did not receive any check‑in details or door code until after 6PM, leaving us waiting outside for 2 hours. During that time we called and messaged with no response. Over 2 hours after check‑in time, we finally got an auto message with a different phone number; when we called, the host tried multiple door codes until one finally worked. We requested a partial refund. The host denied it immediately, claiming that the delay was because we did not provide all of the personal information about our children. 20 min before check‑out, the host showed up in person saying she needed to “reset the door code” even though it was still working. When we tried to discuss a fair partial refund she became argumentative and left.”

“Host forced cancellation but didn’t cancel”

“My reservation was accepted and then the host asked me to cancel rather than cancel it on their own. I’ve never had this happen to me before on Airbnb. It was a non refundable booking so I knew that I was being asked to cancel because I wasn’t going to get refunded either way. Beware booking here!”

“Would never book thru Tia again. We first arrived and realized there was no grill like in listing that’s one of the reasons we picked the place we were traveling with kids and wanted to cook out. We had bought all the stuff to do so. I asked her about it first night she said it had got broken and a new one would be there the next night. Next night still didn’t show up I messaged her said it would be there the next night. Never showed up. We found empty liquor bottles under our mattress, outside canopy was broken so couldn’t even use it when I told her about these other issues she just said sorry I know it must be frustrating. Didn’t try making it right. Couch was very uncomfortable. She promised me a 100 refund for the issues and never got that!”
