Jaqua Realtors Vacation Rentals

Jaqua Realtors Vacation Rentals's guest rating of 4.73 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

The place was new and decorated nice. Well stocked kitchen and overall clean. A little disappointed when there were not 3 full baths; since I asked that question before booking and was told there were. The 1 towel/person staying in the house was a little extreme. There were no extra towels if you like to use one for your hair and one to dry off. Just thought there could be extra towels in closet if needed. Propane tank had to be switched out between the grill and fire pit. The fire pit was hard to light as well as the gas stove in the kitchen. All burners did not work on the stove. The location is close enough to walk to the beach and/or restaurants. The weather was perfect and the golf courses were beautiful.

I will start off by saying that we did enjoy the cabin and amenities once we got in. It was clean and had everything we needed. Our main issue was with communication and check in/out with the host. We received a message at 9 am that we should have received check in/out instructions via text/email. We had not received this info and responded promptly to let them know. After a few hours without a response, we decided to call. Upon calling, they stated that they were not able to provide us with check in info, that they would have to reach out to the " reservations team", and that we would have to call back and check again in a few hours. After 6 hours of attempting to get this information, they were still not able to provide us with any check in information. We had to wait outside for an hour past check-in, in the heat, with two 10 month old babies trying to get the code to access the cabin. We felt this was unprofessional and disorganized, especially given the price per night.

Upon getting to airbnb I thought it odd I had not received key codes. Per rental business they stated I received the emails and checked them per their system. I had nothing in email or junk email with information. He just continued to argue with me. Once we were finally in, the airbnb was not touched cleaning wise. They had to send someone immediately and did take off our cleaning fee for another inconvenience. The floors were so creaky if anyone walked it was loud and disruptive. We were on 3rd floor but the road noise was also very loud. Elevator was so slow you thought it was stuck. Indoor pool and hot tub were a nice option as you never know weather in the midwest. The “movie theatre” was musty and stunk. It’s worth paying more to have a view and not a maze of a layout being an old schoolhouse. Would not recommend this location.

Quiet place tucked away into the wilderness. The best part of the house honestly was the covered screened-in deck. Couple of things we noticed during our stay is that one of the bedrooms had a pet urine smell which got worse as the humidity and temps outside got warmer. And the hot tub water should be emptied and refilled after cleaning as the water had a stale smell to it. I own a hot tub myself and I wouldn’t get in that water. I know the dishwasher was out of order when we got there as there was a sign on the dishwasher, but would have been nice to know before we had arrived. Other than those items, nice place to stay.

We were disappointed with our stay, especially for nearly $1,000 for two nights. The listing made it appear the cabin was on the lake, but it's actually across the road. The only lake access was a busy public boat launch with constant boat traffic, making it difficult and unsafe for our kids to fish or enjoy the water. The upstairs was very hot. The cooling unit required carrying water and frozen ice packs up a spiral staircase daily and still didn't cool the space. Another portable AC unit wasn't vented before our arrival. We found mouse droppings in a kitchen drawer near the silverware, dirty utensils and pans, ripped couches, a musty odor, and what appeared to be mold in the shower. The new grill looked great, but the igniter didn't work, and we couldn't find a lighter, so we had to cook on the stovetop. Also, while this isn't something the owner can control, there are roosters nearby that began crowing around 5:30 a.m. each morning, which may be important for light sleepers to know

Would not recommend staying at this house during summer due to the lack of adequate air conditioning. The upstairs bedroom has a Swamp Cooler for air conditioning. It was 100 degrees up there. Had to take the mattresses down spiral stairs to sleep on LR floor because it was so hot upstairs. Needs deep cleaning, moldy musty smell. Mouse problem needs addressed droppings in silverware drawer. Electrical outlet needs covered in bedroom. Propane grill tank stored in LR which is against MI law. Smoke alarm was off wall laying on refrigerator with the batteries out of it. No bottom cover on dishwasher. Kitchen sink backed up when using dishwasher and very slow draining while hand washing dishes. Lint trap on dryer does not fit correctly could be a fire hazard. When the on demand water heater kicked on the lights would dim in bathroom. We asked for some money back they refused. We feel like this house was no where near being ready to rent out.

This unit (unit #2) is accessed through the rear of the home. This is confusing because there is no signage or clear instructions to find the correct door/keypad. The confusion stems from a laundry room exterior door that also was a keypad, but with an entrance code that does not match the entrance door - guests encounter this side entrance before seeing the correct entrance door keypad in the rear. The unit was clean with trendy finishes. However, this property has only the bear essentials - salt/pepper are not provided, nor is coffee and coffee filters. The dishwasher had standing water in the drain tub and wouldn't run any additional loads The thermostat in unit #2 is non existent - the adjoining unit (unit #1) controls the room temperature for both units 1 and 2, so changing the room temperature in unit 2 needs to be coordinated and changed by someone in the front unit (unit 1).

we rented this house for the 4th of july. we had trouble getting in because the lock was not working. when we were finally able to get inside, there were noticeable ants in the kitchen which got all over our food and our baby's stuff. there is a noticeable stain on the carpet as well as on the main bed on the comforter. the floor was not clean. would not recommend staying here

This property had the potential to be a perfect Michigan getaway. The location and overall setup were very appealing, but several issues significantly affected our stay. Unfortunately, on the first day we discovered a dead mouse in the house, and we also noticed additional mouse traps set up in the basement. While the host did send someone to remove the mouse, it took about two hours for anyone to arrive, which was not ideal. We were also looking forward to using the boat that was advertised as included with the property. However, using it required us to remove and reinstall the boat cover ourselves, and the canopy needed a makeshift repair in order to stay upright. We did not expect to have to troubleshoot and rig repairs during our vacation. Overall, the home could be a nice getaway with better maintenance and preparation for guests. I hope these issues are addressed because the price paid is too much to have dealt with these issues

Listing advertised private HEATED pool. On our way, was sent text that pool robot not working, pool safe to swim in, would send tech next day as soon as able. Arrived at night, next morning could see that there was debris and dirt at bottom of pool. Kids got in and water was cold! When tech arrived in the afternoon, was told pool heater broken for at least a week!! Tech "fixed" cleaning robot which stopped working again later same day. Tech left without letting us know if heater was fixed or not. Called Jaqua and they had no clue heater was broken, or when or if it was fixed. Their reasoning was owner failed to inform them. Jaqua manager not available till next day. In evening, Jaqua texted that once they returned to office would address problem. Jaqua poor communication with property owner and poor knowledge of condition of home they manage. No prompt response, no apologies, no urgency to fix problem, or offer to provide alternate home. Airbnb stepped in to resolve.
