This rental is lovely! You truly cannot beat the large windows and balconies with ocean front views and direct beach access! Somewhat outdated and could use some minor repairs but nothing that would have made us stay elsewhere/significantly impacted our stay. Definitely worth it for the gorgeous views and easy beach access at a fair price. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay here again! James was easily reachable throughout our stay.

We had a great vacation and that’s the most important thing. The beach was an easy walk from the house and we enjoyed our time. We all came to the same conclusion that this rental was not worth what I paid. The Outer Banks is the most expensive area I rent and they commonly provide the least. It’s always the bare minimum for everything from toilet paper and paper towels to dish soap and trash bags. When I had to ask for trash bags because none were left for us, we were told we should buy our own since we are staying for 7 days. I rent other properties for a fraction of the price and they don’t nickel and dime such things. At the price tag of $900+/day during the off-season, when us renters are financing everything from utilities and property taxes to renovations and remodeling costs, I don’t want to haggle over household essentials. We didn’t expect to share bathrooms, which my mother did not enjoy. Siding was beating against my exterior wall when I was trying to sleep. Out of room…

My stay was extremely enjoyable, the location is beautiful and has wonderful amenities. The house was well cleaned and suited all of our large groups needs for a 3 night stay. James was very responsive and respectful and easy to communicate with. Would 100% stay again in the future.

The elevator got stuck. The theater did not work. We paid for the pool the be heated prior to our arrival and to our disappointment the water was cold.

We loved that the house was accommondating to our dogs. The 2nd level deck could be closed off so they could be outside without worry of them 'escaping'. The home was in need of maintenance-chipped & peeling paint; a kitchen cabinet door was completely off & just leaning against cabinet; another was hanging askew; many light bulbs out; 1 set of hot tub jets not working; batteries in some remotes were dead (only way to turn of kitchen light was with remote & battery was dead so we had to leave the light on at departure). Curtains were damaged & dirty, the coffee table looked like it had seen a few seasons of dirty, sticky hands. We could not find any instructions for the TVs etc. so had a very difficult time using them-some we weren't able to use at all - didn't all seem to work the same. Some of the dishes, pans , silverware & glasses were dirty when we went to use them - this is due to irresponsible visitors not the owner/cleaning staff. One pan was so dirty & damaged I trashed it.

Our stay was just ok. We arrived and was told the pool was working but it was green. We were excited to use the pool and contacted James but it was not fixed during our stay so we couldn’t use it. The place fit our group but overall was not very comfortable. We had a bed that had a hole in one part of the bed so you fell into it and one bed, the queen was hard as a rock. After we left we were notified that we would be charged for the bed that was uncomfortable because we allegedly broke the bed frame which was not true. I would never consider staying here again as the rest of our friends in Corolla had a much better experience.

I am deeply disappointed and frankly overwhelmed by the total lack of urgency regarding this significant breach of our rental agreement. I specifically booked this "fully equipped" home to avoid the stress and high cost of dining out, yet I was forced to scramble for ten days of my 14 day stay without a functional kitchen, resulting in a mounting financial burden and the total loss of the peaceful experience I paid for. It has now been three days since I was told the owners were "reviewing" my situation, and this continued silence feels like my time and concerns are being intentionally ignored while I am left to absorb the costs of a major amenity failure. I have acted in good faith by being patient and providing clear documentation, but I cannot be expected to wait indefinitely for a fair resolution to a problem that was entirely out of my control.

The house was disgustingly filthy. I took pics. Air vent over stove was black with dust and dirt. The living room fan was so thick with dust it hung in strands. The top master bedroom door to deck missing screen or glass on bottom of door. The living room couch was badly stained and the bottom was black with dirt. The carpet throughout the house, especially living room, was badly stained and dirty looking. It clearly has not been shampooed in a long time, if ever. The fridge top was dirty and grimy & required cleaning before storing anything on top. No frying pan, we had to buy one. Some pans were dirty. It was really a shame that the windows on top floor in living room and one in kitchen were so dirty on the outside. The front facing living room ones had fingerprints on inside. Fridge was dated and small. Dishwasher missing key component to easily use. The entire house needs updated. We’d never rent from James again.
