“I really wanted to like this place. The pictures looked stunning. Unfortunately, we were left more disappointed than anything. First off, I will say the grounds were indeed stunning. Where the house sit is quiet, serene, and a close drive into the town of Woodstock. The views were gorgeous. Once inside the house, our disappointment set in. It truly was lipstick on a pig. The coffee maker is on its last leg, there's a random array of useless kitchen utensils. There is no air flow inside the home,so it made sleeping tough. The heat works great, but it gets stuffy due to lack of air flow. If leaving the windows open, small gnats - small enough to fly through the window screens cover the walls of the room, which was pretty gross. The house is on well water - so the water smells of iron/metal. We got used to showering that way, but to brush our teeth...ugh. Lastly, the mgmt co. has never set foot in the house -i don't think they live in VT. They gave 'stock' responses that didn't apply”

“The location is great, very easy to walk to the village. But the busy road nearby detracts somewhat from the beautiful sound of the babbling river in the back yard, which is very overgrown. Instructions asked us to use the side door but we could not unlock it. Had to enter from the front door. It's a charming, older home, but could use a refresh. The dishes, glasses, pots/pans were dirty. There was a resident daddy long legs in the bathroom. The upstairs tub does not drain properly. Gross. I reached out to the property management company before I booked to specifically ask if three cars can fit in the driveway. They said we were welcome to bring three cars, but there was only space for two. But we did enjoy our stay, and the home had plenty of space for six adults. Lots of great restaurants, shops, and things to do in the area!”

“What a cool home. Great location. Close to lots of activities and restaurants. Sitting on the porch watching the river was peaceful. Bathrooms were clean. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked. They left us lots of towels. We had everything we needed. The home does need better upkeep.”

“This has the capacity to be a great Airbnb. Location is great, wonderful new deck, and lots of activities for young children. The management company with whom we dealt electronically was responsive, but did not have completely accurate information about the state of the house or the facilities. They did send two folks to deal with one of the issues, who were very kind and professional. We had some issues with AC and trash disposal, but the company did provide fair compensation. If they iron out a couple of these small issues (and they did describe to us their intent to do so), this will be an easy recommend.”
