This is a truly beautiful and historic home. It has some more modern updates but is clearly an original farmhouse. The layout is spacious and inviting and the kitchen is well stocked. The linens were clean and the beds were comfortable. It's very private and the setting is gorgeous. Our family of five enjoyed our time immensely, despite it pouring rain the entire weekend, and the sheep in the backyard were a huge plus for our kids! The hottub was clean and relaxing. Some reviews mention cobwebs and water pressure issues but this is to be expected for a house a few hundred years old! We loved the charm and had a wonderful time. The hosts were incredibly helpful and easy to work with. Would happily rent again.

The house sits on a great piece of land, you can hear the creek in the background. The house is so spacious and the decor feels just right to transport you to a cabin retreat with all the right amenities.

If you want an old farmhouse experience, this is the place! But, the bathrooms and kitchen appliances were not old (including two full ovens), so it was the best of both worlds. It was very spacious for our family of 8 (all adults who need some alone time) and was very conducive to relaxing, watching tv together, playing board games, cooking and eating together. Morning coffee on the porch watching the animals and hearing the cows, sheep and chickens, and even the birds, was a perfect way to start our day. The animals on the property were definitely the highlight for all of us. We SO enjoyed watching the sheep and even (almost) witnessed a birth of some lambs. The town of Woodstock was quaint and fun. There are lots of biking and hiking trails in the area that we did. We went in May so the weather was beautiful. We got a couple of very hot nights which made sleeping uncomfortable. They may provide fans or a/c during the summer months, that we were just unaware of. Very responsive.
