Manager Review

Venture Smoky Mountains

Venture Smoky Mountains's guest rating of 3.91 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

Overall, our stay was okay — nothing super special, but the location was great and only about an 8-minute drive to downtown Gatlinburg. The cabin itself was decent for the most part, but there were a few issues that were disappointing. The biggest concern was the upstairs AC. Our children were sleeping upstairs, and it stayed above 80 degrees the entire trip. We messaged management twice asking for it to be fixed, but unfortunately nothing was ever done. That was definitely a bummer and honestly felt unsafe with kids sleeping up there in that heat. Parking was also very tight, especially for bigger families with multiple vehicles. We also noticed some strange stains on parts of the carpet. Other than those issues, the stay was fine overall and the location was convenient.

The cabin it’s self was cute, but the customer service was poor. We called 4x for things that needed to be handled and each time they said someone would call us back within the hour never did. There is no WiFi at this cabin even tho when we called the lady on the phone said there was. We never got free tickets or a link to any attraction. Tv did not work nor did remote have batteries. The cabin was in good location but unfortunately the company in charge of this rental left a bad taste.

Nowhere to park and then got threatened by having our cars towed…was told the pool and lake were both going to be open and neither of them were. The walk to the lake from the cabin was honestly deadly. Had to buy pretty much everything if you know you have a big family coming you could leave more than one trash bag.

Unfortunately, this is my first bad experience at an Airbnb. My friends and I got to the cabin and chose beds, which for some reason it wasn’t specified that there were two sofa beds, but it was okay. What was not okay was coming back from grocery shopping to mice droppings on the kitchen counter and stovetop, there was a flying roach in the kitchen and dead bugs in the billiard room (a bee and another roach), weird shavings in the billiard room as well (which we didn’t know what it was), spider eggs/cobwebs in rooms and my whole group was woken up due to the mice running through the walls. We tried calling the after service team to help us and they told us they would send someone the next morning. We called that morning, said they couldn’t get someone out there until later that week, had to talk to the manager to help us, tried to up charge me a couple thousand more to stay somewhere else, but resolved to a refund instead. I feel bad to leave a review like this, but it was upsetting.

Our cabin was clean, and accommodated all of our needs. The hot tub did not work. I notified about the situation and was told a work order was put in and someone would be there to look at it. Nobody ever showed up. Other than that this is a nice cabin.

The cottage was advertised as having three bed. In fact, it had two beds and two small cubby holes meant for toddlers. There was a trundle bed, but no sheets, pillows or blanket were provided. My grandson who is 6 feet tall had to sleep in the cubby hole. I requested an adjustment to the price we paid, but was denied. The dishwasher had a horrific smell; in fact so disgusting, we could not open the dishwasher without getting physically ill. They did sent a "technician" to fix the dishwasher. There was no toilet tissue in the cottage. When I requested toilet paper, I was told it was not provided. Overall, the responses I received were nothing but excuses. In a market where literally hundreds of units are available, this company should remember it's the little things that matter. Will never book with this company again.

Code did not work to get in during a snow storm and 20 degrees outside. Took an hour and a half for response with correct code. Not enough towels for 1 day and host left 1 single use laundry detergent. Bring any and all staples as host doesn’t provide. Even had to buy salt and pepper, coffee filters, not even one pod of coffee. No sugar, nothing…..An oven mitt would have been nice. Grill igniter didn’t work. Fireplace didn’t work but quick to fix. Do not recommend staying here.

We were unable to make it to the cabin due to the roads, this should have been included in the description , they are dangerously narrow and so hilly you can't see if there is traffic coming or which way the road goes at times. The owner was not willing to work with me on a partial refund. I have never had an issue with anywhere we have stayed until this trip. I will not recommend this cabin to anyone.

The house itself was very large, able to fit large groups. The biggest problem is the floors. They are extremely squeaky both up and downstairs. If anyone was up later or got up early, the whole house was awake. And there were nail heads sticking up from the floor, caught our toes and socks a lot. The surroundings were nice, very quick drive to Pigeon Forge. It had plenty of fridge space. There were no shuffle board pieces in the game room, so we couldn’t use it. I messaged the host, and they brought us 2pieces, but the game requires 8 so we still couldn’t use it.

Our check-in experience with Take Me Away with Venture Smoky Mountains was absolutely horrible and deeply concerning. When we arrived at the cabin, there was an intruder inside the property. Yes—someone was physically in our cabin at check-in. This was frightening, unsafe, and completely unacceptable. We immediately called Venture Smoky Mountains, expecting urgent assistance. Unfortunately, they were no help at all. There was no sense of urgency, no clear explanation, and no meaningful support offered during what was a serious safety issue. At no point did we feel protected or reassured. Between the security failure, lack of accountability, and poor customer service, this company demonstrated a complete disregard for guest safety. This experience caused extreme stress and ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing trip. I would strongly advise against booking with this company. Safety should never be optional, and this situation was handled terribly.
