“These things should have been fixed by the management company before we rented 97 Coral Lane on Marathon Key: The AC is now fixed. 1st night we had to sleep in the kids room that had separate AC unit. The microwave is now fixed. We did not have one for most of the visit. The dishwasher is now fixed. Was not in working order. The clothes dryer is now fixed. Handle was broken The trash can rail is now fixed. The refrigerator filter is now replaced. The maintenance team (Matt, Dan, Gibson) are all wonderful we met them all. We felt we got the property ready for the next visitors. We asked for some money back but were told that was not possible. We rented because we always need a kitchen while on vacation. I could have paid less at one of the close resorts to be without a working kitchen most of the stay.”

“In a quiet location with a fenced in backyard with propane grill. Could fit us & our 3 kids though when the trundle bed is out the room is tight. Nothing was wrong with the house but a lot was just barely maintained and very minimal (dishwasher didn't release pods, bathroom sink dripped, master bath had a consistent aroma solved by bathroom fan on a lot, hard to close washer/ dryer, one roll of paper towel, 2 dishwasher pods only, etc.) Nothing was wrong but felt like things could easily fail and were just maintained enough for vacation renters. Games and small park good for the kids. We had no power for a day that we only found out about from the Cabana Club (and then verified when we asked the management company, but were never told about). Saragassum is also really bad this year so Cabana Club Beach is unuseable... not their fault but something to know about that we didn't realize. We would definitely consider the area again but would probably look elsewhere in the future.”

“Well located, great space and the apartment is big. The furniture is old and dusty. Lots of clutter that needs to be removed or cleaned.”

“The company sent text messages from multiple different numbers which made finding information difficult. The property smelled like rotten eggs and the fridge was 70 degrees and all of my food had to be thrown away which forced us to eat out which cost me and my family quite a bit more than we planned to spend. Charging $900/night and having these conditions is unacceptable.”

“Although the location and overall home were both very nice there were some concerning maintenance issues. The left gate would hardly open even with 2 larger than average men. This was a huge inconvenience for the fact we had 3 guest and needed to use both driveways . The guest bathroom faucet was about to fall off . The hammock broke when my wife sat in due to the old dry rotted straps securing it to the tree. Aside from the lack of general upkeep there was a nosey neighbor that kept staring in house and went as far as walking in the empty lot next door to look over the gate . Lastly the pool guy showed up unexpectedly when we were all hanging out by the pool to clean it and basically made it un usable for a hour or two . You would think this could be done in between stays”

“Very disappointed. Home was beautiful, easy to find, & convenient. BUT (1) The wall between the living room & bedroom didn’t go up to the ceiling so there was zero privacy. (2) The shower water was pure cold & their response time was TERRIBLE! Sent a message through Airbnb at 8:39am but no response at all, so I sent a text the NEXT evening at 5:15pm (33 hours later!). During that text conversation, every single message started with “Hi (my name)” even messages that were moments apart, making me concerned it was AI, so I asked and got the following: “Previous responses are not AI. They are an assist team we use for prompt responses to guests. They escalate issues out of their control to our team and we provide solutions.” which seemed nebulous, so I reworded it and asked specifically if it was human. The response: “Wtf ...is that human enough?” At that point I decided I will never again rent a home owned by Vacation Rentals of the Florida Keys.”

“Overall a great vacation. Short walk to the beach, Nice place, great location and family house. Thankful for our stay here. House had a few issues. We had a cockroach problem when we arrived which the host sent out an exterminator the next day. We had to leave the house for a the day while they did their thing. The following day the shower stuck on full blast and had to be repaired but hey, things happen. The drainage seemed slow throughout the house as well. Additionally, the dryer did not work well and kept shutting off which made doing laundry awful. Kind of a bummer for more than $5,000 to stay here. Little disappointed with how the hosts / team handled our issues. Certainly think they could have done a little more for us for the inconvenience. But that’s just the team the handles the property. Overall the house and location are great. All things we dealt with. The team hosting the Airbnb”

“I was supposed to receive check in instructions 2 weeks prior. No communication at all. Day of arrival, I had to reach out to them to get code to get in the house. Property manager said I would receive it at 3:45. Nothing received. I had to contact property owner again for the code. Property owner did not even know the code to get the key for the house, or that it did not have a keypad to get in. Washer was broken, kitchen sink was leaking-floor was a puddle, both doors don't latch and we found a large blood stain on one of the mattresses. Had to spend 3 days of our vacation waiting for maintenence. Canceled plans because of it. We rented thru Airbnb at this same house when it was listed by the owners. We had a phenomenal experience then and house was well taken care of. But this time, was horrible. Property manager slow to respond and when asked 4 different times for a partial refund never gets back to me.”

“There was a hotel being torn down and the cleaned up right next store … 3 weeks before we rented and continues when we arrived. We had to be moved our do the house that disrupted our vacation to house with a horrible view. Totally ruined a reunion vacation that we had planned for a year. The management company was hard to work with and was unsympathetic to our frustration by the terrible toxic dust that was blowing our way. Finally after almost 24 hours of trying to work with the management company they offered a different house for us to move to. Totally disrupting our vacation for a house that from what we were looking for was a lesser house. Also there are only 2 baths in the house. The third bath is a pool level bath behind lock and key - marked as owner access only.”

“The view is not as described. It looks directly at the marina building. The TVs need a significant upgrade. Fully smart TV aren’t expensive. Finally be aware that you will not have full resort access being an Airbnb. The resort is nice.”
