Tybee Vacation Rentals

Tybee Vacation Rentals's guest rating of 4.62 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

We had trouble with the cypher locks getting into the condo. The lock and unlock codes were not working. We placed multiple calls /texts the afternoon we arrived. We were able to get in but could not lock the door. They offered to send someone out sunday evening and we declined based on Sunday night and Mother’s Day. Didn’t want to interrupt family time. I called office at 8am Monday morning and left a message. Several text messages exchanged and finally they said someone would come to look at Lock. I asked that they call to let me know when they were coming so I could see what we were doing wrong. No call. When we came back from Pool the door was locked. We had trouble getting into condo. We drove to office where staff told us someone had been to condo and nothing was wrong. I told them we were still having trouble and they agreed to have someone come back to unit. Turns out we were given the WRONG instructions for entering and locking the door.

Great spot, but doesn’t overlook the beach (which we knew in advance, but may be a deal-breaker for some beach-goers). We reported that both grills were out of order when we arrived and a week later they were still unusable. A bummer, as we love to grill and eat outdoors. Luckily, kitchen was well-stocked with cookware and utensils. Love that we had a washer and dryer, and only wish beach towels had been provided since we flew in to Georgia. Great location and walkable to lots of shops and eateries. As gym-goers, we enjoyed being across the street from the YMCA. The unit was very clean, quiet, and had plenty of space for our family of six.

Location was great (access to beach, shops), except for being next to restaurant and bar which was noisy till late in the evening. Nice to have dedicated parking The unit layout is great.

House was great, came with very basic needs. Would have loved more basic essentials stocked. House however was not fully cleaned/ prepped from last stay. Bed was left unmade and communication didn’t come until next day to help get bedding to us. Loved the location and pool

this property is EXTREMELY small and quite dingy. Hair was left in the bed when we arrived, there were also bugs in the bed (flea like). And Stained covers. The bathroom had its own issues as well. The sink had left over toothpaste in and on it. it also had a drainage issue. The bathroom is SO small there is clearly a ventilation issue (due to the mold growing in the shower) Not a very comfortable stay. however, The beach is only a couple steps away which is nice. lots of local shops and restaurants not too far away either. definitely an in and out type of stay instead of a relaxing one.

Cons: - toilet had waste in it when we arrived - hair on pillows and bedding - bugs - king bed was HORRENDOUS, two craters in it like people had slept in it for years and they didn’t replace it - I’m 6 months pregnant so we had to buy our own memory foam topper, they didn’t reimburse us for it - went to the rental office five times to get an issue resolved, they never reached out to us, just dodged us until we checked out - no one answers the phone when you call, they don’t call back if you leave a voicemail - PATHETIC excuse for customer service - too far to walk to downtown tybee Pros: - great beach/ocean view - could see dolphins playing from balcony every day - quiet/peaceful

We had a difficult time with communication over the weekend with Tybee vacation rentals. Our keypad on the door kept malfunctioning and we had poor service trying to fix the problem. The hot tub was not warm when we checked in and there was sand and the seats were slimy

Unfortunately, at 5:16 I received a call that our reservation had been cancelled, without any reason given. The message asked me to call as soon as possible, as my check in was the next day. I called at 6:05, when I was out of class and found the office closed at 5:00 pm. So they notified me after closing and left me worried overnight whether I would have to cancel. They offered another home, which didn’t fit my bedding needs exactly, but what choice did I have other than to cancel. The house was adequate, not particularly “refreshed”. But the lack of timely communication created undue stress. Disruptions happen, understandably, but a dedicated person assigned to the case was justified. Every time I called, I had to go through the entire event timetable before it was sorted out. The staff was kind enough, once sorted out, but I am not used to such poor customer service from AirBnB

The price we paid for and what we got would have been worth it had they disclosed there is a broken window with wood over it, and the bathtub was broken when we got there. The only other thing I will say is that the parking is very difficult to find and if you have anything other than a compact car it will not fit. Other than that it was very clean, and the location is great. Just wish we knew about the broken stuff before we got to the condo.

Theres pros and cons to this place. Pros- great location, steps from the beach. Cheap. Plenty of space. They provided cookware and towels. I thought the beds were comfy, my sis did not. Cons- we couldn't connect to the wifi, the password was wrong. I had to send a screen recording of my attempting to log in for them to believe the password they provided was wrong. They gave us access to the neighbors wifi halfway through our stay, which reached the living room but not the spare room. Things were generally grimey, mold in the shower, sticky something on the dresser, old food in the kitchen drawer handles. The thermostat was locked, you couldn't go lower than 70. The water stunk so bad I could barely shower, though I think thats a Tybee thing not just this apartment. They also contacted me several times trying to show off the apartment to potential buyers, we declined. Also I couldn't get the fan in the smaller room to work, nor the tv since no wifi. They did attempt to fix the wifi.
