Tahoe Getaways
4.74Visit website
Tahoe Getaways's guest rating of 4.74 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“The views were beautiful, easy to travel to nearby cities. I loved the layout of the house as well. The house itself was dirty. Cobwebs everywhere, food on the ground in the lower bedrooms and cold showers in the lower bedroom that did not drain. The outdoor trash bin was full and then stated we had to take it to the dump and pay for that. I do think that the trash should be empty for new renters.”airbnb

“Every thing was great till last day, check out time was too early and extra charge for couple hours was not nice.”airbnb

“The place itself is very new, spacious, and set in beautiful surroundings. The garage and fitness areas are very nice as well. Unfortunately, the cleanliness was not quite up to the standard we expected. There was visible dust and debris on the floors, our white socks were dirty after just a few minutes, and there was pet hair on the carpet. We also found dust underneath furniture and around the fireplace. I had a handheld vacuum in the car, which helped us tidy up a little. The lower-floor terrace looked quite dirty and was covered in cobwebs, so we did not use it. The upper terrace was more usable, but the floor was also very dirty and would benefit from a thorough rinse; even after wet-mopping it several times, it still did not feel properly clean. The electric grill did not get hot enough even to warm ribs. Luckily, the kitchen had a very good oven and stove. The drip coffee maker had a damaged/melted plastic filter, and the Nespresso machine came without capsules. Overall nice”airbnb

“Photos make the place larger than it actually is, it's a small unit. There is no air conditioner. Also there was miscommunication with realtor, the realtor gave the key code to some folks who wanted to tour the place while we were on our 2nd day of our stay out of 7 days. The folks who wanted to tour the unit tried to walk in, it was an awkward conversation as we didn't know if they were double booked or trying to break-in so to speak. Anyway, realtor and owner could have done a better job on that, for sure.”airbnb

“Very disappointing stay. The listing was misleading, and the host was completely unresponsive. * Unit is much smaller than the photos make it appear. * “Steps from the lake” is misleading—it’s about half a mile away. * Lots of mosquitoes with no support from the host. * Pool and hot tub are nice but much farther from the unit than expected. * Constant automated messages and instructions, while the host ignored actual questions. Overall, the property did not match the listing, and the lack of communication made the experience frustrating. Would not recommend.”airbnb

“The location was great and easily walkable to Chambers Landing. I was a bit disappointed in the communication considering I asked for early check in multiple times and was told it wouldn’t be a problem and on the day of we were told it wouldn’t be possible because the house needed to be inspected. The place was given to us a bit dirty even after the inspection.”airbnb

“The house was not clean, dust on wooden frames, spider web from the sealing/roof. The Barbeque machine wasn’t cleaned. The bathroom door was not working. The chair in patio was full of dust.”airbnb

“The house was fine, but Tahoe Getaways was not a good host. We were there under difficult circumstances (power outage) and would have appreciated some understanding & assistance from Tahoe Getaways, but didn't get much. The whole town of Homewood had been without power for more than 10 hours before our arrival time, but we had no forewarning from our host. (We could've postponed our arrival.) When we arrived at the house at 4pm, the temperature inside the house was 51 degrees and falling, with a night-time forecast in the 20s. When we called the host, they said the power was expected back on by 9pm. We asked what their refund policy was if the power was still out at 9pm. All they would say was "You can apply for a refund after the end of your stay; there are no guidelines regarding power outages, all requests are considered on a case-by-case basis." The town’s power came back on around 3am. The host did not bother to notify us that the power was back on. Not a good experience.”airbnb

“If family leaves because phone representative gave misinformation- a partial refund should definitely be given. This house is NOT near hot tub/ game room. We would’ve rented a totally different house if they had told us the truth as we brought 4 kids with us.”airbnb

“We booked at 10 am day of checkin. the host called to confirm and assured us roads would be clear by noon. weather got worse and every highway in was closed we tried for 6 hours to reach the rental. I notified the host when we gave up and got a hotel as close as possible. I asked for a refund since we had only booked 8 hours prior. they said they had prepared the rental and cleared snow so NO. I offered to cover cost of preparation and snow plowing. they said NO. I explained there was no safe way for us to get there, I asked if they would be willing to offer an extra day at the end of our stat, they said yes they would give us 100 off an extra night( at 850 a night). I will never book with Tahoe Getaways again, even though they offered a discount on a future stay. Despite my many attempts at a reasonable resolution I had to pay $850 for a cabin no one could get to. But hey they cleared the driveway so I guess they think that is worth it. Also trash from previous guest was still there.”airbnb
