Tahoe Getaways in Homewood, California

“Amazingly decorated modern farmhouse, comfortable 3 bedroom ranch home on the west shore of Lake Tahoe. Walkable to the lake pier for fun kayaking. Has an electronic piano, lots of games, and bunk beds for the kids. Modern kitchen and bathrooms. The best part was proactively offering pro-rated late check out. We were able to leave in the afternoon. (I hate scrambling out the morning of… this made our vacation relaxed and perfect.) 5 stars just for that. Would stay again. :)”

“The house was fine, but Tahoe Getaways was not a good host. We were there under difficult circumstances (power outage) and would have appreciated some understanding & assistance from Tahoe Getaways, but didn't get much. The whole town of Homewood had been without power for more than 10 hours before our arrival time, but we had no forewarning from our host. (We could've postponed our arrival.) When we arrived at the house at 4pm, the temperature inside the house was 51 degrees and falling, with a night-time forecast in the 20s. When we called the host, they said the power was expected back on by 9pm. We asked what their refund policy was if the power was still out at 9pm. All they would say was "You can apply for a refund after the end of your stay; there are no guidelines regarding power outages, all requests are considered on a case-by-case basis." The town’s power came back on around 3am. The host did not bother to notify us that the power was back on. Not a good experience.”
