Manager Review

StayLage

StayLage's guest rating of 4.77 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“Had me reserve the house. Took 2400 from me. Gave me the code to the house. Then canceled my reservation and took my money and then didn’t respond and withheld me from my things”

“The neighborhood was peaceful and safe. The detached garage (common for the area) was unexpected and inconvenient. My room smelled of urine and the carpets were old and dirty looking. The home needs refreshing. New Carpets, quality towels, welcoming decorations , good coffee and it would be great .”

“Unfortunately, this stay had significant cleanliness and pest issues. We arrived to ants throughout the kitchen and very dirty floors—our feet became visibly dirty walking inside. Despite sending photos the first night, the problem wasn’t addressed until the next day after I sent videos and said I would contact Airbnb. A cleaner came and the situation improved, but the floors still left our feet dirty and ants returned by the end of our stay. The kitchen also had a persistent musty/moldy smell that worsened after rain, and our bedroom then smelled like cat urine. We couldn’t cook because the nonstick pans were badly scratched. The outdoor area was unkempt and furniture dirty. To their credit, management eventually responded and offered another property, but it lacked specific accommodations we needed, and no other solution were offered. The beds and linens were clean and comfortable, but the pest, cleanliness, odor, and maintenance issues significantly affected our stay.”

“Overall, it was a disappointing stay. The bedding was noticeably covered in dog hair and, in addition, there were little piles of dog hair in the corners of the rooms. It didn't instill confidence that the apartment was actually clean if they couldn't nail the visible things. They did not have an office/desk as pictured in the backroom and the kitchen had utensils and pots/pans, but it lacked things like oil, salt, pepper, etc. that the listing said was provided. For my next trip to St. Louis, I will be avoiding this property.”

“I think overall the place was fair. It definitely wasn’t the nicest of places. Some dirty towels were in the bathroom and windowsills were really dirty which is not a huge deal, but it just goes to show I don’t think this place is professionally cleaned. With that I think that it is just an incredibly high price point for what is actually being offered. It should be closer to 80 dollars a night, that is what the place is treated like and i wouldn’t complaining if that was the case. The bed, pillows, couch, carpet, and towels all just feel like very very cheap materials. Which once again would be okay if the price matched the experience.”

“Overall nice physical space, poor corporate managing company. Check-in was at 4pm, arrived at 4:30 and the cleaning crew was still not ready with the unit and said they were only about half way done. We needed to change and be at an event at 5pm so we had to leave our stuff in the unit while they finished cleaning. During our stay, cleaning crew came in and asked why we weren’t checked out even though we still had a day left. The door codes were confusing and one wasn’t even the right one. I think we got 12 automated messages from the corporate host in our 2 day stay with AI-esque jargon about caring for our stay and leaving a good review. It all read very corporate and empty, especially since their response to the unit not being ready was just sorry for the inconvenience. The thermostat had no instructions and couldn’t get it to stay below 75. No disrespect to the cleaning crew but they were randos in beat up cars (and suspected druggies), not a professional company.”

“This place was in a great location and a larger space than expected. Unfortunately the space was much dirtier than the listing, with marks on the walls, stained furniture, and dust all around. There were also odor issues as the unit is shared with a second neighbor. This may have been a gap in maintenance, but if you mind a dirty space I would not recommend staying here. As mentioned, the location is great though, so if you don't mind, it could be worth it!”

“I booked this as accommodations for my wedding down the street. Upon checking in, the door code at street level was not correct. The door code to the room was correct, but the room was never cleaned after the previous stay. There was trash, dirty dishes, and the bedding wasn’t changed. The mattress and mattress cover were covered in hair and stains. I called the service number provided and the representative was rude. We were given access to a nearby unit, but the stress and being late to the event was preventable. The reservation was placed weeks in advance.”

“Poor communication, felt like AI responses. There was puke on the couch cushions we wiped it off but host did not send someone to clean until multiple inquiries and on the 3rd day. Fridge took over 6 hours took cool. Was told to unplug and plug it back it. WiFi was spotty. The location was great and plenty of supplies but would not recommend this place . They did offer a refund of one night and cleaning fee but again poor communication. They said it would be refunded immediately, over a week later told me to check my email, then stated I had to contact Airbnb support. I did and they came back with a different amount. Thankfully I had the screen shot of what the refund amount was.”

“Unfortunately this Airbnb was not advertised realistically. The bathroom was not very clean. There was mold and mildew on the window sill and around the bathtub. The shower curtain liner had a layer of mold and mildew along the bottom of it. There was a hole in the floor in the main bedroom downstairs. You could clearly see through to the basement. The air conditioning did not reach the upstairs well at all. One of the upstairs vents was bent so air wasn’t able to pass through. Downstairs had a bug problem. There were bugs crawling on the walls in the bathroom, and the people staying in the downstairs bedroom were bitten by bed bugs. The front door was also a little alarming as it looked as though the door frame had been previously broken and patched. The door did not latch very well, which did not add to our sense of safety.”
