Sea Scape Properties

Sea Scape Properties's guest rating of 4.71 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

I do not recommend this place. There is no gas for the grill, the interior is dirty, and the kitchen lacks sufficient utensils. They are absolutely unhelpful.

Place is across the street to Wrightsville Beach and staff seems to be doing a good job (Tracey was super nice to us) but this is a terribly overpriced spot for the age/condition of the building. There was quarter inch gap in the unit door which lets heat and insects inside. Worse, there was an intense weed smell kept coming in from the AC unit for the entire Friday night that our infant had to be exposed to, it was horrible. I guess the AC system of the building does not filter anything. There was also smoking in several patios over the weekend. They message guests several times to charge for early check-in and late check-out and the door code expires at 10 am, which is something even big hotel chains do not do any more. You can find much better places for this price just a couple of blocks away.

We notified the owner that the AC did not work. They suggested that I make some adjustments to the thermostat, which I did and it still didn't work. Instead of sending someone to fix it I was told to wait, maybe it would start working overnight. It did not, we were hot and miserable. I notified management at 7 am and was told that someone would come. I asked to change units if the AC couldn't be fixed. No one ever came, and I was not offered a different unit. Two nights hot and miserable. It is a first floor unit facing a parking lot so opening the windows was not even an option. I complained and requested a partial refund. I was offered $46. It is a shame, overall we liked the unit. But will not return.

Nice place and great location! Would stay there again. The original code to get in didn't work and luckily I got a hold of someone in their office at 5:02 pm. The only problem was she was supposed to text me the code as it was really long and I couldn't remember it so after calling back they were already gone and had to leave a message with the after hours operator. I wasn't sure we would be able to leave the room that evening. However about 45 minutes later the new code came in via text and it worked fine the remainder of our stay.

Very poor customer service. Pool wasn’t heated as we paid to have done. Hot tub was dirty. Batteries missing in almost all the remotes. Awful smell. Beds not made in two of the rooms.

Was told that they would be canceling my reservation while I was showing up to the property. As well as they said they would give a full refund due to them canceling the reservation but now are making me jump through hoops to try to get a refund

It was nice, great view. No pool access and no access to the closet that contained the beach chairs, etc . It was fine with us but if I had a family with little kids it would have been a problem. We had to purchase things that the condo stayed would be provided, I would stay again but I would know to bring my own beach things next time

I’d like to start off with saying the location for coming to this area for the first time was great outside of the noise at night from cars/bars. The unit itself was relatively clean- just things you would expect from an older unit. We had an issue with the sink during our stay which we were told we were not using it appropriately- so that was on us a little. Additionally, they wanted to charge a separate pet fee, and charge us per hour if we wanted to checkin early or leave late. Which apparently was in the listing notes that we missed…. I own and operate an Airbnb myself and have never done that. Overall, it was a good stay, but I will be going elsewhere next time. It feels like they’re stingy and don’t put the guests over the money.

We had a good overall stay. The home was clean, well-maintained, and stocked with everything we needed, which made our visit convenient and comfortable in many ways. However, we did feel a bit uncomfortable during our stay due to frequent messages from the host and the sense of being monitored through the cameras. While we understand the importance of security, the level of communication made it hard to fully relax and enjoy the space. With a bit more privacy and less frequent check-ins, this would have been a great experience.

The biggest issue with this unit is comfort. The bed and couch were both very uncomfortable, and the furniture overall felt extremely cheap and low quality, making it hard to relax in the space. The listing mentions a sofa bed, but it was uncomfortable even to sit on—you can immediately feel the metal support bar in the middle, and I can’t imagine trying to sleep on it due to the lack of cushioning. I would not choose this unit again without meaningful upgrades to the mattress and seating. I have stayed in most of the units at the Waterway, and this was by far the weakest one in terms of comfort and overall quality, which was disappointing given the prime location. The host also required additional documentation on a third-party website outside of Airbnb, which should be disclosed in advance. Communication was frequent and often felt sales-driven, including messages before and during the stay offering paid add-ons. The location is excellent—easily the best part of the stay—
