Manager Review

Sandy Shores

Sandy Shores's guest rating of 4.64 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

The location was great. The home was large and spacious. Needs massive deep clean and update of furnishings. The shower doors downstairs did not open, the shower curtain in middle bathroom completely fell off upon opening and we could not put it back. The glass doors were obviously broken because they were in garage. Toilet Paper holders fell off wall upon first turn, garage doors often did not close. The biggest issue was the kitchen freezer was non-operational as it was BOLTED to the wall. The kitchen refrigerator was 79 when we arrived and 4 days later it was 76 so we could not use it. There was a small working refrigerator/freezer in garage on a separate floor that worked but was very inconvenient. Sandy shores replied one time upon arrival when notified of issue. Never heard back from them again after multiple emails/messages through Airbnb they did not respond the entire stay.

Heater was on upon check in ( in the middle of summer ) and took a few hours to cool down. Otherwise, great location and amenities.

Sadly the condo was not what we expected at all. From the moment we walked in we immediately noticed that it smelled horrible. It was musty and smelt like it had mold, super wet and uncomfortable. The floors even felt wet and our items began too as well. Even sleeping at night we felt wet and sticky. We reached out trying to get help and nobody was helpful even though we had a medical needs son with us with a trach and g-tube. We wanted a peaceful getaway and was very uncomfortable and worried the whole time that he would become sick because of the condo. When maintaince did come by all they wanted to do is spray some spray in the vent that included bleach but we couldn’t have that around our son that has the trach when we asked to be moved they told us they would reach back out and we never heard anything else. Do not recommend.

Extremely dated. Automated staff.

Unit is in need of a refresh. Some furniture is too big for the space. We felt the furniture was not clean. Walls need repainting. Ceiling needs to be scraped. Elevators were not working during a busy holiday weekend. One was completely out of commission. A Parking pass should be included with the rental.

Fantastic for a weekend getaway. However the young lady at the office/cashier could use a heavy dose of manners. Checking out a customer and then turning to get back to her phone call without handing you a bag or saying thank you was a tad disrespectful.

View and location were great. Construction the first day into the next morning made a whole day unusable on the patio. Everything is extra. No beach chairs. No parking. No spices. No oil for cooking. Nothing.....Might as well been a Homewood Suites by Hilton with a view. Indoor pool was closed for construction and that was not disclosed. No big deal for us but with rain and little kids I would have been upset. Finally, and probably the biggest frustration was carrying a key everywhere. I have not stayed at a place with an actual key in years.....

We stayed here with a multigenerational family group — my parents, my wife and me, our child, and our niece. The condo itself was beautiful, beach access was excellent, and check-in/check-out were very easy. Unfortunately, the AC was not working when we checked in on Saturday. We contacted Brett-Robinson immediately, and while someone came out, we were told they needed owner approval before calling a contractor. After multiple follow-ups from us, the unit was finally replaced on Tuesday, but it failed again the next morning before being repaired late Wednesday night. We also discovered the king bed frame in the second bedroom was clearly broken, and despite reporting it twice, we never received any meaningful follow-up. There also appeared to be mold in several vents, which was concerning, especially since two members of our family became sick during the trip. Overall, the condo and location were great, but the maintenance & communication issues made for a stressful stay.

The place was beautiful, but it wasn’t very welcoming considering five minutes after check-in. They were already sending text about checkout and check out instructions. It was pretty disappointed that there wasn’t even Coffee. But other than that the place was beautiful.

Ultimately was okay, but would not stay again. Rules on fridge said not to cut air below 73, or the breaker may trip. Keep fridge on medium for the same reason. It was a very uncomfortable feeling for just a normal family of 4 like we were having to cut costs for the owner. A lot of loud noises at night kept us awake. We didn’t have rowdy or rambunctious neighbors but felt like we heard every knock and door close in the place. We planned to stay a second night but ultimately went somewhere else. Front of the condo was updated nicely and appeared as pictures but the bathrooms were yellowish, dingy, and did not feel comfortable showering there. Even the parking lot was very dark and felt unsafe. Did not live up to a “Phoenix” quality.
