“The actual location and view were awesome and beautiful. But we were only staying there for two nights and we had to avoid the deck with the awesome view because the amount of mosquitoes was indescribable. We were not prepared the first night and couldn’t stay outside. The second night we bought citrus candles but they didn’t help. We tried burning coffee and mosquito traps but nothing worked. Each person had at least 30 mosquito bites. The house itself was also full of mosquitos. I suspect bedbugs too because I have never seen people’s backs be so full of bites in my life. Also, the cockroach problem was pretty bad. The cockroaches were huge. Maybe two inches not counting the antennae. The furniture outside was also falling apart. I had to be very careful moving the chairs because the wood was literally falling off the rust nails. I come Galveston at least twice a year and I expect mosquitoes and even cockroaches. But this was extreme.”

“Loved the unit it self and the grounds. The management of the property was great. I would never ever rent through Ryson again. Their portal wasn't working wrong information sent, could not find gate to enter after hrs. Codes that were given didn't work nor were they even close to what I was supposed to have received. Left behind some personal items and clothes by accident in the dresser and housekeeping stole them. Reached out and was told I didn't leave them behind and they weren't found. Sorry but yes they were, because I no longer have any of the items but have 2 that were with the others. I would never ever rent or recommend going through this company. The grounds and unit were pleasant but the sliding door needs repair badly. Very very basic. Bring your own salt and pepper, they didn't even have that. What happened to ABB being a home away from home? So disappointed 😞”

“This condo is in a great location with wonderful views. The pool on the property is very nice as are the restaurants. The condo itself was clean and spacious. The floors and the kitchen counters have been updated. However, it is in need of some other updates and some maintenance care.”

“It is a beautiful house and great location. It was a short walk to the beach. We were given the wrong code in the beginning but customer service was very helpful. The master shower was leaking all over the ground and there were ants in one of the couches.”

“Gorgeous view of the water and 1 minute walk to the sand! House itself was just ok. Kitchen just ok. We couldn’t get the washer to work and there was a terrible sewer smell when running the shower in the hall bathroom. Entry to the house was also tricky, having to hold the key and door just right to unlock or lock it. If proximity to the water is your goal, it’s a winner.”

“Location is perfect with a great view. Nice balcony with two chairs. We did not use the kitchen but it was clean with some cookware available. There were some details that if fixed, the stay would have been perfect.”

“The unit needs significant repairs. I wish I had paid closer attention to the other reviews. Several lamps didn’t work, there were holes in the ceiling, the blinds and screens were broken, and neither the TVs nor the stereos worked. The patio door was damaged and didn’t have a proper handle. The unit was also dirty and trash was left from the previous guest or cleaning crew? I contacted the host and was told someone would come by, but no one showed up. The fees also ended up being higher at check-in than I expected from the listing. The front desk wasn’t helpful and said they couldn’t assist because I was staying through Airbnb. The listing doesn’t accurately reflect the unit’s condition or the check-in experience. I wouldn’t book it again. I have several photos of what I described in my review I shared with the host and was honestly expecting a discount for the condition but nothing. I can’t post them but if your considering staying here contact me and I’ll share them with you”

“Everything was fine the only thing I liked was that the beds were full of hair from the previous guests oh Also something very important you have to work more on the insects than there inside the house to have a better house thanks”

“Great view and great location The view from our 7th floor balcony was gorgeous, so interesting to see all the ships lined up waiting to get into the port. We came for the Sandcastle Competition. The Galvestonian is the closest high rise to East Beach, and we were able to avoid traffic jams and parking fees by walking there – very convenient. The apartment was well furnished, with many decorator touches. Checking in to the Galvestonian went smoothly, if you don’t mind being treated like second class citizens and wearing a green wrist band for your whole stay. Travel size shampoo and conditioner are provided, as well as a basic kitchen kit. On the minus side, be aware that there are only enough staples such as toilet paper for a long weekend. You will need to supply your own beach towels and (especially irritating) trash bags. The shower in the second bedroom bedroom is tiny, and the electric outlets did not work! We'll be looking for someplace larger and friendlier next time.”

“AC wasn’t working. We were hot for a few hours. AC stop working the early morning before we left. Missing trash bags. Missing a lot of miscellaneous for cooking such as larger size pot.”
