Recreation Stays
4.76Visit website
Recreation Stays's guest rating of 4.76 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“The Unit has multiple false advertised amenities. The host did not respond to any maintenance requests. This was the worst experience!”airbnb

“Very nice place. Just as pictured. I slept OK. If you’re booking last minute make sure there’s confirmation not just with the management company but also the owners. The island is a nice place and nearby town. Good friendly culture nice people. It is about 100 feet from the main road into the island. I could readily hear the vehicles driving by. Again this is a very nice place. Great care was put into making it. They are very firm on the checkout time; I had a knock at the door did not even realize it was 10:25AM. I was ready to go in about 5 to 10 minutes, but since it was the cleaner, I could not finish wiping anything down in the kitchen. Later, I noticed that I had also received many messages from the management company that it was 10 AM and the cleaner was ready to clean. The previous night I inquired on extending my stay, so I know there were no bookings the next day or that night. So definitely be ready to go by 10 AM.”airbnb

“We enjoyed our stay overall. The house was cozy, the beds were comfortable, and the location was fantastic—being able to walk directly from the house onto the beach was convenient, and one of our favorite features was being so close to the ocean and just looking at it. One thing to be aware of is that the home has several changes in floor level with steps throughout the interior. These were a bit challenging, especially upon arrival. One guest tripped immediately upon entering because there was an unexpected step down right inside the front door, and she was carrying items, which prevented her from catching herself. We also found that cell phone service was limited. We had both Verizon and AT&T users in our group, and neither carrier had reliable reception at the house, so we depended on the Wi-Fi for phone calls and communication. Overall, the home's comfort, beach access, and location made for a very enjoyable stay.”airbnb

“The location is good but the property needs work. The neighborhood was quite noisy with dogs barking through the night.”airbnb

“Location and house layout / amount of space were nice, but could use some updates. Communication was friendly, but there were a lot of automated messages that were sent that contradicted previous conversations. It would get a little frustrating. If you are downstairs, it is really loud upstairs anytime anyone moves, walks or uses the bathroom. There are a few things that need to be repaired around the house, including windows and sliding doors. All of these issues were minor and overall we had a good time.”airbnb

“Finding the unit was difficult because the name provided was not visible anywhere on the building, and Google Maps directed us to the back side of the property. Upon arrival, we noticed trash around the parking area, and the overall atmosphere did not feel family-friendly. There were multiple instances of noisy neighbors yelling at their children and playing loud music late into the night, which made us feel uncomfortable and unsafe traveling with family. While the unit itself was as listed—basic, clean, and functional—the surrounding community significantly impacted our experience. The overall experience was far from what was described. The listing heavily over-indexes on portraying a premium experience, but in reality, it did not feel premium in any sense. Given the location and environment, especially considering the price point, I would not recommend staying here.”airbnb

“Beautiful location, living room and kitchen smaller than expected.”airbnb

“We literally had to run away from the place. The last guests mess was everywhere, there was no cleaning done. Rubbish stank, filthy bathroom, food leftovers on the table, dirty sheets on the floor and a huge dog barking and growling outside the house that wouldn’t even let us get to the car. Had to call animal control.”airbnb

“This place was close to perfect. The location is outstanding. The beds were clean and comfortable. The bathrooms worked. And the kitchen was clean. We really had a great time despite some issues that kept our vacation from being perfect. Yes, there is no dishwasher, but the previous tenants did a terrible job washing the dishes and lots of them were dirty and had old food bits on them. This was the first time I ever had to wash the dishes at an AirBnB before use. But the worst issue was the lack of WiFi for our whole stay. My brother and I were counting on WiFi to do remote work and to let our kids watch movies on netflix. When we messaged the hosts and told them the wifi wasn't working, they responded and told me that we were in the middle of a reported outage. After waiting 3 hours, I looked online and there were no outages. I messaged back and the hosts said there would be no Internet for our stay and WiFi was a courtesy. Downstairs TV didn't work without Internet. We made it work.”airbnb
