Ohio Shores Vacation Rentals

Ohio Shores Vacation Rentals's guest rating of 4.75 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“Cute home with lots of potential but attention to detail was lacking. There was no air conditioning running on arrival and it was 81deg when we walked in. The filter on the AC unit in the bedroom was full of dust not allowing air to flow. Once we cleaned the filter it was able to circulate and blow cool air. The shower head is halfway hanging out of the wall and leaks and there are cob webs on the ceiling in the bathroom. We loved the vintage decor and the hot tub was nice and pre warmed. Just some minor details need addressed.”airbnb

“My experience at this Airbnb was extremely disappointing. I drove all the way from South Carolina expecting a comfortable stay only to arrive and find there was no hot water and no usable water to shower at all. This made the property unsuitable and very inconvenient. When i contacted the host to address the issue instead of being understanding or professional the host responded rudely and stated "I do not feel comfortable with you in my house and wanted me out. which was unnecessary disrespectful and unprofessional given that i was simply reporting a SERIOUS problem with the property. A host should be willing to address legitimate concerns respectfully and work toward a solution. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. Due to poor communication lack of professionalism and unresolved issues with basic necessities i would not recommend this Airbnb to others”airbnb

“Nick was quick to respond during booking when I asked him to clarify conflicting rules regarding pets. Pets were allowed. Really nice looking house, great park and playground 2 blocks away. Quick drive to Cedar Point. In the hallway during check-in, I could hear a loud grinding noise. Upon opening the door to our room, we discovered it’s emanating from the HVAC vent in our room. I sent a video to Nick right away to let him know but he never responded during the stay. We had to manually set the HVAC fan speed to low and close the bedroom pocket door so it was quiet enough to sleep at night. Also, bathroom sink faucet was completely detached from countertop. Again, no response when I told him. It did still work at least. Overall, this could be an amazing Airbnb but it definitely needs a few quality control checks.”airbnb

“Positives: The place was cute and in a great area. It was walkable to almost everything we wanted to do. Negatives: When we walked in, the vents were making a loud humming / knocking sound. We were able to get it to stop by turning off the AC/Heat. Luckily the weather didn’t require us using either during our stay. The baseboards were dirty with dust and hair, and the linens had dog hair on them. It smelled a bit like dog. There’s was also a large, smashed spider on the bathroom wall that nobody cleaned up. There was also hair in the shower drain.”airbnb

“Initially booked the room and was put in a completely different one. Was told we could move into the room we booked on another day. Got into the initial incorrect room and immediately noticed issues. Sink in the bathroom was messed up. Stains in the sink as well. Did not feel comfortable using the towels either as they did not appear to be clean. Also had stains on furniture. Definitely would not recommend staying here.”airbnb

“The place is in a good location, walkable to downtown/waterfront. It was clean and as described for the most part. Minimally stocked - if you want something its safer to bring yourself. We never received check in instructions and the host was non responsive to texting, calling or messages through the airbnb app. Luckily one of the numbers we found went to the rental company - they took care of us right away - but we were still late getting checked in due to it. Overall decent, nothing overly impressive but it was in a good location. Would stay again if needed.”airbnb

“Great stay overall! The location was excellent, easy walking distance to everything downtown, which made getting around super convenient. The space itself was very clean, a great size, and the bed was especially comfortable. Having TVs in both rooms was a nice bonus as well. There were a few minor issues, all of which are easily fixable. I had some trouble getting the audio to work on both TVs and needed to reset settings. One of the remotes ran out of batteries, and I didn’t receive a response from the host that day, so I ended up buying replacements. The most notable concern was the front door lock, it took several tries to secure properly, which could be a security concern, especially if someone is in a hurry. That said, these are all things that could be quickly improved. Overall, I would still highly recommend this place and would consider staying again.”airbnb

“We stayed here to visit our kids at OSU and living in the city of Columbus so the location is good for that. The building seems to be degrading since we started staying there several years ago. The lobby is dirty and you notice the smell of weed as soon as you walk into the lobby, in elevator, common area outside the unit and in the unit, all weekend (not an exaggeration). The unit itself reeked of pot smoke the entire weekend probably because pot smokers in the building. The floors were swept but not clean, kitchen counters were semi-clean. We had to buy toilet paper because there was very little left there. Body wash dispenser was empty and TV remote didn't work. Noise at night is an issue. We stayed in this building several times before and didn't have these issues. The place was a nice find several years ago but going back to hotels for our weekend visits.”airbnb

“This was the perfect answer to what we were looking for. Two bedrooms, two baths. Reasonably priced. Very clean. The one and only comment I have is that I did send two messages to the host, and did not receive a reply Since I was only asking if he would like me to start the washer (because we only had two hand towels) it didn’t matter if he didn’t reply back. But if I actually had a need that needed assistance, I would have not received help.”airbnb

“The place is in a good area close to short north, breweries and the convention center. The price was very high for the amount of space/quality in my opinion. However, I was in town on a busy weekend and just needed somewhere to sleep. The parking situation was very irritating and for this reason alone I wouldn’t recommend this Airbnb. You have to scan a QR code in the lot and then scan a QR in the apartment in order to park for free. Ok fine. But then I was not able to extend the parking before it expires. While we were out doing things during the morning the parking expired and we received a ticket. Very annoying parking arrangement.”airbnb
