My Vacation Haven

My Vacation Haven's guest rating of 4.59 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

The location is fantastic and the use of the golf cart was great! Our only complaint was that it was not as clean as we would have hoped when we arrived. The floors had not been mopped, there were items left from previous guests, hair still left in the showers from previous guests and sand in one of the beds.

This rental was a beautiful house. Stunning. Very clean (the lower level we had 5-6 bugs every day). Being an Air BnB there was a lot of supplies that felt lacking. The walking distance wasn’t too bad for families. However, before booking I asked the host if this beach allowed tents and chairs. They were very responsive and said this is a private beach but “the house includes chairs and an umbrella!” That sounds great for a family - once we arrived there was no umbrella, so we made our way to the beach only to find you must pay a significant rental fee each day for any chairs and umbrella. I asked the host and they said “yes you have an umbrella but you must use it at the public beach (which was a 10 min walk away). I didn’t find this out until we’re at the beach on our vacation. The other two families in this house found out as well in real time. It felt like we were manipulated and misled every time I asked leading up to the vacation. The beautiful house was outshone by the host.

this unit is beautiful and the location is amazing but unfortunately there was construction all 5 days we were there. it literally sounded like they were going to come through our wall every morning at 8:00 a.m. This would go on until 5:00 p.m. It was so bad. we would attempt to reach out to My Vacation Haven and they would never respond to us. AIRBNB did everything they could to help but The issue I have here is dealing with any properties that My Vacation Haven runs. They simply do not care. AIRBNB told me they could not get a response from them either. We paid $1600 for a bit so relaxing vacation. The property is beautiful though. The communication was horrible.

Just a heads up- parking for a 10 person home was awful. Doors scratched up by bushes to squeeze in parking area with golf carts. Two of our cars had to be taken off site to a very pricey alternative. Wish we knew this in advance. No overflow parking is provided in the community. Loved the area and beautiful community. The beds were comfortable but our feet were filthy after baths due to very dirty floors. Rug and cloth furniture was also dirty and very stained. Not a great first impression. Needed light bulb in spare room lamp and the command hooks were broken and very tacky for the home decor. No hooks in the bathroom for towels. Also a glass of wine was poured into a glass with a quarter size hole in it. Wine went everywhere. Loved the community but the house needed a deep clean!

Our stay was disappointing overall. One of the main reasons we booked this Airbnb was because it advertised two golf carts, but one did not work for the entire stay. With six people in our group, this created a significant inconvenience and impacted our ability to get around the resort. Cleanliness was also an issue. The floors were not properly cleaned, walking barefoot left the bottoms of our feet black, which was very noticeable upon arrival. Additionally, the beach chairs provided were worn out and rusty, making them uncomfortable and difficult to use. The grill, which was also listed as an amenity, did not work, preventing us from using it for meals as planned. Communication about these issues was slow, and they were not resolved during our stay. While the location was nice, the missing and non-functional amenities made the stay less enjoyable than expected.

From the outside this is a beautiful home in a nice private neighborhood. The pool was very convenient right across the road and the house was spacious. There were many negative things about the house though. Upon arrival we found the porch swing hanging from 3 of the 4 ropes. We were able to fix it enough to sit on it for the week. Also 4 nails we found scattered in the driveway, thank goodness we did not pop a tire! Inside the house the couch is covered in stains and absolutely disgusting. The kitchen faucet is broken and hard to shut off. Urine was found on the baseboard and around the base of the toilet in the master bedroom, as well as hair in the sink. The house lists that they have a “beach closet” with beach supplies. In this we found 2 rusted chairs and an umbrella. NO sand toys at all! How?? We ended up buying our own chairs and toys and left them for the next guests to hopefully enjoy. Overall this house was just a place to sleep, and not much more. It def needs some TLC!!

First let me say, we had an amazing time! This location was perfect for our family and Sandestin is truly magical! Staying at This location - right in the heart of all of the action was great for our tween & toddler, so much to offer for all ages. However, the condo was ok and had everything we needed for the most part, but was rather dated. The electrical outlets did not work in either bathroom for most of our stay and that was very inconvenient. It was not clear in the instructions about the different access codes for parking, pool, entrance to building from market street, etc. Unlike other bnb’s we’ve stayed at, this listing does not come with hand soap, laundry detergent, condiments, coffee/kcups which was a bit annoying, so be sure to bring those items. Besides those few things, we had a great stay and location was great!

Comfortable beds. Dated decor. No throws. Golf cart was broken on arrival and took two days for a replacement with poor proactive communication on management level. Provided 2 trash bags, cheap toilet paper, no basic condiments as in salt and pepper and olive oil …1 dishwasher pod, one roll of paper towels. No Saran wrap or tinfoil. A couple of left- over containers. We Needed an exterminator visit after seeing 2 cockroaches. And no beach towels.. (told to use our bath towels but clear rule on not washing the towels provide in the unit) This being our 5th stay to this beautiful resort and this being the first unit not to provide the amenities mentioned above, we would not rent from Vacation Haven again. We were told we would receive a credit for the golf cart issue but don’t know how much or when. Recommend asking a lot of questions before booking through VH.

Hello. This was truly a great spot! The home was clean and the layout was perfect! The down side was the parking. On the listing it said three spots. When I asked about parking the host said only two spots and only offered a place 20 minutes away to pay to park any additional cars. Once we arrived we easily fit four compact cars. Also it was a little over 400 dollars to have the pool heated for two and a half days. I thought that was pretty extreme. Also our oven went out half way through our stay and no one ever did come by to fix it. We may have missed them. Either way it ended up being ok because we did not need the oven the rest of the time. I did notice Al night the tv kept buffering so I’m assuming the internet was not keeping up. These are small inconveniences but for the price paid for a three night stay it’s worth the mention. All in all a great place would definitely stay again if we were in the area.

Okay accommodation. Very limited toiletries (they gave us a starter kit of 1 oz of soap, 1 oz of conditioner, and 1 oz of body wash total for 2 people for a 5 day stay, and would not give more when asked). Keep in mind that the unit listed may not be the one you get - ours had a fridge and some utensils, but not a true kitchenette. Overall very clean and tidy, great views, and <5 min walk to the beach. They provided some beach toys in the storage unit, a transportation pass, and access to the community pool. Honestly indistinguishable from a hotel room but without the amenities.
