Maverick Suites
4.67Visit website
Maverick Suites's guest rating of 4.67 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“Good value stay in a wonderful renovated brownstone close to transport and restaurants. Check-in did prove troublesome as the code for the door had not been correctly updated for us and getting inside took some time.”airbnb

“Room was great, right near the stadium. Garbage wasn’t emptied from the previous people staying and door code was not updated to mine and was still the last persons code”airbnb

“Location is the biggest selling point for this property. The first unit I was in the door code didn’t work at times, dated TV w/ no ability to cast/stream, no batteries in the remote, super spotty WiFi. The second unit was bigger and had a more updated TV (I was moved to a new unit because the original had a mouse). Wifi was still an issue so streaming was out of the question. Communication with this companies outsourced answering service was relatively fast but not always super helpful - though after asking “are you sure it was a mouse” - they did get me to a different room. Regarding some of the issues popped up the service said “someone from our team would reach out”. Been 2 weeks now and still nothing. Would’ve been nice to hear from someone or at the very least comp part of my stay given some of the issues. But great location, comfy bed, responsive 3rd party answering service , easy check in.”airbnb

“First, the bathroom is not attached to the room. This is listed as an apartment, but It is barely a room. With a bathroom on the other side of a common hallway behind coded door. I own the fact that I didn't pay enough attention to that in the narrative of the ad, but the pictures completely obscure it. Check in time is 4 PM. At 5:30 I still did not have check in info. I contacted support, and after a few messages and calls, got a hold of someone. Who told me that he was just behind with a lot of calls and hadn't gotten to send my check in info yet. It took him 3 attempts to get it to me, via email. When I arrived at the room, there was no air-conditioning. It was May and 80°. The wall unit was not working, and the window units that replaced them were not installed. When I asked , I was told that AC was not "in season". He said use the ceiling fan, open the windows. Only one of the two small windows had a screen. I complained to Airbnb and was refunded half my stay. Avoid!”airbnb

“Not a great stay. Heating and plug sockets not working and lengthy time to fix things. Did get a 50% refund.”airbnb

“I figured it would be just a room, even though the company is Maverick Suites. It was -- adequate, okay. We asked if we could check in early, before 4 pm. An automated reply told us yes, for a $50 fee. Never heard that before; usually, if the room's ready, it's ready and it's not a problem. I said we were only interested if there was no fee. They said to check back on the day of arrival when they would know the cleaning schedule. I did -- they said we could check in at 3 pm for a $25 fee (so obviously the room would be ready by then). We said no. Finally they said, ok, you can check in at 3:30. Which we did, for no fee. I HATED playing games like that. Rather than accommodate a guest (paying $200+ for a plain square room), they did everything they could to try to squeeze a few extra bucks out of us. UNACCEPTABLE, and in my experience, unprecedented.”airbnb

“Was comfortable but overall the bugs in the unit were a big turn off considering the area and price”airbnb

“Great place to stay if you are just looking for somewhere comfortable to land at the end of the day. The bed is quite comfy, and the kitchenette is well-equipped with glasses, plates, utensils, etc for take-out meals. Fit our needs perfectly as we were visiting family nearby and could park our car with them and not have to worry about parking. Also, there is limited seating as only one desk chair is provided. Again, we did not spend a lot of time in the room, so this was not an issue. The bathroom is extremely spacious, handicap friendly, and very clean-very much appreciated. I was a little annoyed that after the extra step of going to an additional website to upload my driver's license, I did not get the check-in instructions and had to call for them.”airbnb

“The instructions for the remote and WFI access did not always work and our devices would not stay connected to the Dish network. Sometimes frustrating.”airbnb
